Did you know who Cat Deeley was before she joined This Morning?

When Cat Deeley became presenter of This Morning earlier this year I had not heard of her before, some of my friends are surprised that I did not know who she was. (We are all in our 40's by the way) I knew who Holly Willoughby was though.

Am I weird in never having heard of her before?

She still is. They have two boys.

Yes. She was the co-presenter of American Idol.

SMTV, who can forget chums and Cat the Dog, then of course CD UK.

This is what I thought of as soon as I saw her name!! But yeah I'm late 30s and remember her from SMTV.

I watched SMTV and I’m 60. Always preferred her to Tess Daly, she is a natural comic, Tess is a very scripted. Cat could always keep up with Ant and Decs adlibs.

Definitely, loved SMTV and CDUK! Didn’t realise Cat was back in the UK and on This Morning, that makes me feel old. Although if they resurrected Chums then that might make me watch it!

He's taken over the Irish Late Late Show from Ryan Tubridy. I think they were friends first. They presented Fame Academy together.

I stood right next to her once on CD:UK back in the day!
She was very friendly and chatted with the audience 😁

Yes I knew Cat from MTV with Edith. And then SMTV/CDUK. She also hosted Fame Academy I think?

I’m in my 60s but I’ve heard of her from years back. I couldn’t have been watching children’s tv so she must have been in other things.

She’s been around years - she used to present children’s version of stars in their eyes. She was well established then

Of course I did, she's been well known for years if not decades

It started in 1998, I was 23 then but used to watch it! I guess it was just something to have on, like people put the radio on?

As I tell my kids constantly, ‘there wasn’t a lot on in my day’ so I was watching teen focussed things into my 20s 😂

SM:TV and CD:UK! So I’ve known about Cat Deeley for coming up to 30 years or so now? I’m 34.

I knew her from other things, some a good few years back because she has been around quite a long time. I think she is married to Patrick Kielty (?spelling).

However, you are not weird. I often see, and hear about, well known people of whom I have never heard. There are programmes I've never bothered to watch where they apparently appear or have appeared.

I don't know a lot of the Strictly contestants this year, that often happens.
