What temperature is your house right now?

The back part of my new house is really good at keeping cool - due to hard floors and aspect I guess.

I’m in Berks, supposedly 29c outside.

House is showing 23.5c. Very grateful as I have young kids and a dog.

Just curious.

Our last house was a new build and unbearable, would often only be a degree below outside temps.

About 18c. North east Scotland it’s 17c outside currently.

Turophilic · 12/08/2024 12:51

23.5°C

Comedycook · 12/08/2024 12:52

Similar to that of the earth's core I imagine

TuesdayWhistler · 12/08/2024 12:53

24c ATM.

EltonJohnsSunglasses · 12/08/2024 12:53

28°C - far too hot!

Underlig · 12/08/2024 12:54

24 degrees. London.

Honestlynotsure · 12/08/2024 12:54

24 here too - Hampshire. Showing as 29 outside! 60s house.

Peridot1 · 12/08/2024 12:55

27.5 at the back of the house with a fan on. Front gets the sun in the afternoon so I’ve closed all the curtains upstairs to keep the sun off.

I like the heat so it’s fine for me.

OhmygodDont · 12/08/2024 12:55

26.5c tho that’s at the front of the house in the shade. Meant to be 30c outside.

DoIdriveaVauxhallZafira · 12/08/2024 12:55

Don't know but cooler than outside thankfully. Its going to reach 31 here later and doesn't feel that far off now...I was up at 6 opening windows for a morning breeze, have closed them and blinds now so it's staying relatively pleasant.

DancingLions · 12/08/2024 12:55

Living room with all curtains closed is currently 26, outside is 30 right now but predicted to go up to 33 (London).
I'm already a sweaty mess! But filled up the big paddling pool and planning on jumping in there soon 😂

Droolylabradors · 12/08/2024 12:56

22.5 inside, 28 outside. Closed all the windows when the sun came up. Old thatched cottage with thick walls. Lovely and cool inside.

happyhemsby · 12/08/2024 12:56

25c

How is it in winter, if you don't mind me asking?

mrshoho · 12/08/2024 13:00

27°. Ours is in full sun at the front in the morning and then it comes over and shines in the back the rest of the day. Hotter upstairs but luckily we're off and can keep all the windows open. Supposedly 35° today but thankfully cooler tomorrow

PandaCwtch · 12/08/2024 13:06

About 19C inside. It was 25C outside earlier. Generally the house doesn't go over 20C unless I heat it from the inside regardless of what's happening outside. The walls are 4ft thick, so outside/inside temps don't correlate unless I open all the windows.

I'm wearing a thin jumper. I take it off to go outside.

Brookidy · 12/08/2024 13:17

just tipped over to 23 in the lounge, back of the house 24 as sun is on it but have parasols over the patio doors and kitchen window which makes a big difference since doing this.

Around 30 degrees in the sun outside.

AgentJohnson · 12/08/2024 13:20

26 Celsius inside 30 Celsius outside. The 1st stage of the Tour de France Femmes is going past my appartement in half an hour so I will pop outside to have a look but will swiftly return to the fan inside my apartment. I was never a fan of the heat but the menopause has made any temperature above 25 Celsius really unpleasant.

Doggymummar · 12/08/2024 13:21

28 in the hallway. 24 in my office

Lucyintheskywithcubiczirconia · 12/08/2024 13:23

I’m in Sussex, garden is currently 33 degrees and the living room is 26. House was built around 1990 so fairly modern but not what I’d call a new build. Luckily able to take it easy for the rest of the day!

BBCLW · 12/08/2024 13:24

27 downstairs, hotter upstairs and like hell in the attic room.

LakieLady · 12/08/2024 13:24

26, which is far too hot. That's with curtains drawn but windows open, as there is a bit of a breeze.

The back of the house is a bit cooler, as it doesn't get direct sun until late afternoon.

SP2024 · 12/08/2024 13:25

My kitchen/diner says it’s 32 degrees. It’s at the back of the house, south facing new build extension so insulated to hell. It’s actually unbearable.

Motnight · 12/08/2024 13:25

23.5, London. Though I have a ceiling fan on in both the living room (where I am) and the bedroom (where my cat is, he was really poorly in the last heatwave).

LaWench · 12/08/2024 13:28

We've been away for a week and heading back, just checked the app and it's 23. You've reminded me to turn the boiler back on.
