What temperature is your house right now?

The back part of my new house is really good at keeping cool - due to hard floors and aspect I guess.

I’m in Berks, supposedly 29c outside.

House is showing 23.5c. Very grateful as I have young kids and a dog.

Just curious.

Our last house was a new build and unbearable, would often only be a degree below outside temps.

21° and just right.
It’s 33°on the back patio, 29° in the shade on the lawn 🥵

It said 27c earlier, feels warmer than that though. Trying to keep the cat indoors but I think he's better outside where there's a breeze, and in the shade it's quite pleasant.

I've brought my cat in, she doesn't seek the shady spot and just lies in the full glare of the sun 🙄she is now on sofa on a cotton sheet with a fan blowing nearby - she now feels a normal temperature

Vates · 12/08/2024 15:26

28

I am starting to feel ill and rotten. I can't stand it.

Mespher · 12/08/2024 15:30

25 downstairs, so ok
27 upstairs, I will put the portable air con on tonight
31 outside

Boomer55 · 12/08/2024 15:31

34 outside. Cooler inside because I’ve got air coolers blasting out. 🥵

PfishFood · 12/08/2024 15:35

If I am in charge of opening and closing curtains and windows on the correct sides of the house at the right time, it can be 30 degrees outside and 24 degrees inside.

DH is in charge of these things today, so I fully expect the inside of the house to be 30 degrees when I get home!

We have a conservatory which, thankfully, has double glazed doors into the house and this thankfully stops the heat transferring. That, with the doors and windows open, is currently 39.5 degrees!

Dreamiesarecatcrack · 12/08/2024 15:36

Thermostat (in hallway) is reading 26.4 so it's reasonably comfortable indoors, outside is definitely hotter (forecast says 28 today) but it's cloudy and muggy here rather than sunny and it's the sun on our back windows from 1pm til sundown which seems to heat our house to furnace temperatures so doesn't feel too bad at all today.

alwaysonadiet1 · 12/08/2024 15:36

Central London. 32 outside and 30 inside. I'm melting!

socks1107 · 12/08/2024 15:37

The hive says 27.8 but it's in a cool part of the house

GingerPirate · 12/08/2024 15:39

41C in the kitchen 😁

WickerMam · 12/08/2024 15:40

18 both inside and out at the moment. We have a yellow weather warning for rain today.

PortiaWithNoBreaks · 12/08/2024 15:48

32 outside, 26.5 inside 💦 south east

Ditto!
Its 26C on the sunny side of the house though, the back is much cooler. But it feels ok to me...I have reflective blackout fabric I stick to the windows with velcro in hot weather and it really keeps the heat down.

Unfortunately I have to go to work tonight which means working in an oven in a polyester uniform.😥

BurntBroccoli · 12/08/2024 15:56

Downstairs North facing front room 23 - it's quite insulated and is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Upstairs is 26.

fiddleleaffig · 12/08/2024 15:59

21 degrees apparently but that's the temp we set the aircon to.

BarbedButterfly · 12/08/2024 16:01
  1. Might see if I can pop to hell to cool down.

Do you have aircon in all rooms?

I’m looking at getting aircon for our house and wondering if you have to have every room done. I live in the south east of England

Shefliesonherownwings · 12/08/2024 16:14

27.1 currently. I'm in Herts. Our house really retains the heat which is great in winter, not so much in the summer. Kids rooms upstairs will be closer to 29 I reckon. 😰

Thankfully we have an air con unit which we'll put on upstairs a bit later on, it's a godsend.

OhmygodDont · 12/08/2024 16:39

Now 29c in the coldest part of the house. Livingroom is satans ball sack south facing. Outside 32c.

CrikeyMajikey · 12/08/2024 16:57

31 inside 🥵

InterIgnis · 12/08/2024 17:01

21 - have also got the air con on.

JackRabbitSlim · 12/08/2024 17:03

21, no air con, fans or windows open because we're in Scotland and our area has only just warmed up a little after quite a ferocious thunderstorm!

Tequilamockinbird · 12/08/2024 17:11

Mine is 26.4 according to Hive. Feels like 126.4, been working from home today and I'm absolutely boiling 🥵

DoIdriveaVauxhallZafira · 12/08/2024 18:46

Droolylabradors · 12/08/2024 15:00

Yeah but I could do without the rats and mice in the attic and under the floors!

HORRIFIED 😵

Chocolateorange22 · 12/08/2024 18:58

Sat at 26.7 downstairs at the moment, I can feel a through draft so doesn't feel like high. Dread to think how hot it is upstairs. West Mids.
