The back part of my new house is really good at keeping cool - due to hard floors and aspect I guess.

I’m in Berks, supposedly 29c outside.

House is showing 23.5c. Very grateful as I have young kids and a dog.

Just curious.

Our last house was a new build and unbearable, would often only be a degree below outside temps.

25.5 according to Hive, new build NW

Projectme · 12/08/2024 14:43

Hazarding a guess? Around magma level 🥵

IBegYourBiggestPardon · 12/08/2024 14:44

22.9 that’s in the bedroom though with no windows so it’s possibly slightly cooler in the living room. In all fairness though it doesn’t feel that bad in here

ssd · 12/08/2024 14:44

22 degrees inside here, outside Glasgow

Fontainebleau007 · 12/08/2024 14:44

27 degrees... far too warm for me 🥵

RainbowSlidders · 12/08/2024 14:46

24.5 inside and 24 outside here. All doors and windows wide open as there is a nice breeze.

One of the things I love most about my house is how cool it stays in hot weather. It's a Georgian stone house with high ceilings. I haven't ever needed a fan since moving in here. But the flip side is that it does the same in winter...

Hive says it's 19.5. Outside is 23 at the moment.

KreedKafer · 12/08/2024 14:49

23C apparently, which is too warm for me.

It's 25C outside, but it's not sunny.

Fluufer · 12/08/2024 14:53

23.5. Also in Berks. It's warm outside but hasn't been massively sunny yet.

@DoIdriveaVauxhallZafira lovely in winter. We have flagstone floors with underfloor heating in the kitchen but I usually turn it off as it makes my feet hot. We have an everhot on all year around and it's lovely in winter and barely noticeable in summer.

We do sleep with all windows open upstairs in the summer. However none of the windows fit properly as all v old so lots of winter ventilation 😀

Sounds like my dream property!

LifeExperience · 12/08/2024 14:56

23 during the day and 21 at night year 'round. I live in Florida.

FinallyHere · 12/08/2024 14:59

NE facing side noticeable cooler than SW side, shades closed, the Galileo thermometer on warm side is at max (all the balls have sunk so above 30deg.

With the different temperatures not quite bad enough yet to turn on air con

SunshineInMySprocket · 12/08/2024 14:59

27 inside and 31 outside. We’ve got the windows open and the blinds closed. It’s very warm.

Sounds like my dream property!

Yeah but I could do without the rats and mice in the attic and under the floors!

PetrichorSoul · 12/08/2024 15:00

28 inside but 34 outside ... am in Geneva.

Takemetothemountainsnow · 12/08/2024 15:09

23c - nice and pleasant

berksandbeyond · 12/08/2024 15:12

Also in Berks. 27 inside, 31 outside. Our last house was always roasting, it’ll be easily 35 in there today. Whenever it’s hot I think about that house!

bridgetreilly · 12/08/2024 15:13

About 457 degrees. Hotter than Mars. Hot enough to fry an egg.

NatureofSociety · 12/08/2024 15:16

25 inside, 31 outside. We've had the curtains and blinds shut since before the temp started rising, but it's fairly unpleasant away from the fans.

LBOCS2 · 12/08/2024 15:18

24.5 inside, 31 outside. A bit warm for me, but definitely bearable.

Flossflower · 12/08/2024 15:18

28.8 and the humidity is 59%.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 12/08/2024 15:18

It said 27c earlier, feels warmer than that though. Trying to keep the cat indoors but I think he's better outside where there's a breeze, and in the shade it's quite pleasant.

FrenchandSaunders · 12/08/2024 15:19

London, the thermostat in our shady hall is showing 27 degrees!!

AgileGreenSeal · 12/08/2024 15:23

It’s 20 outside (N Ireland) , not sure what it is in the house. Heading down to the beach now for a swim 🏊‍♂️

Brookidy · 12/08/2024 15:24
