To ask for help making an adult party bag

Hello
Having a big event this year. Not a wedding or birthday but a big celebration. 50 guests. I want to do each guest a party bag to take away. So far I have got the following ideas but I think it's a bit boring
Pic and mix in the colour scheme of the party
A mini homemade cake (my friend is a Baker so is doing these)
A small ornament connected to the event (think mini logo figure type thing)

I'm doing an individual card for each guest

What else can I put in?
I want it to be nice so can spend some money but not a huge amount
Any ideas?

I would bloody love an adult party bag! This is a fab idea.

Really baffled by so many posters who are (a) slagging off the party bag in general and/or (b) slagging off the ornament specifically, given that you didn’t ask for feedback on either of those things. The sheer arrogance of thinking that they have a better understanding of what your friends will like than you do 🤷‍♀️

Lem0nTang0 · 02/08/2024 16:12

@crochetmonkey74 can you crochet? can you crochet some personal keyrings?

You seem to have misread the question, it was ‘what should I put in an adult party bag?’ not ‘Do you think an adult party bag is a daft?’

boo! Shoot me for not answering the question 🙄

Well, that would be rather extreme…

A friend did this a few years ago and we all got:

Sweets (I think it was Haribo or similar)
mini candle tin
bath bomb
little yellow duck for the bath

As you're already having the cakes made how about an afternoon tea bag, with a couple of fancy tea sachets, cake, scone with jam and cream pots, and a mini Prosecco plus the ornament.

Better food/more drink or put on some entertainment instead op. They will end up in landfill.

If you must then how about sunflower seeds and organise a growing contest next year

They wouldn't do it themselves and so project massively on to the OP. The not doing it themselves bit is fine, but not the being so fucking miserable and rude as to say it's a bad idea (which it's not!).

The bag is happening.

So many people crying ‘plastic is the devil, add something useful! Seeds!’…. We have had soooooo many party bags containing seeds and they NEVER get planted. It’s just another job! Key ring, Lego etc - plastic but get used.

That's not the question......

Bluebirdover · 02/08/2024 16:52

@Goslingsforlife maybe OP should put a gun in the party bag?

as I guest I would prefer to see the money put to use else where.

more food available.

a free drink on arrival if you’re not having an open bar.

an extra bit of entertainment like a magician etc.

half the things you’ll shell out for in a party bag will end up in the bin.

A magician 🤣

Gorgonemilezola · 02/08/2024 17:00

Wrapped amaretti biscuits, packets of love hearts, tiny jigsaw (you may be able to get these with a personalised picture), keyring, choc, booze.

Not a kids magician 🙄

I meant the type you get at weddings who do card tricks etc. They’re always a big hit.

I’d prefer the party bag any day, magician indeed 😂

Dominoeffecter · 02/08/2024 17:09

Try searching favours on ETSY, I got some beautiful little origami cranes on there, they even do gorgeous stickers with peoples names on for the bag, also personalised paper straws that you could attach to a mini Prosecco/cocktail in a tin.

PlumpHobbit · 02/08/2024 17:09

See I'd hate mini prosecco etc (can't stand wine) so that would be more likely to end up in the bin than a figurine 😂

Likewise candles they give me a migraine, soaps I have sensitive skin

I like the idea of seed packs, maybe something related to the event?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 02/08/2024 17:09

A whistle. I think 50 pissed people leaving a party, with a whistle to hand, would be memorable! 🤪

outdamnedspots · 02/08/2024 17:11

I think it's a lovely idea.

Yes to the ornament if you think it will go down well.

Sweets/mini bag Haribo

Miniature vodka/gin

I'd love a face mask or mini hand cream or lip salve

Packet of seeds also good - eg basil for the windowsill

You aren’t going though. The figurine is related to the event, the OP has repeatedly explained that

Complete with glow bands, for the full rave effect.

chubbybubbyandmrwrinkles · 02/08/2024 17:25

I love this idea and LOVE adult party bags!

In my parents' Wedding Anniversary party bags were: Hand sanitiser, bottle of water, packet of crisps, packet of tissues, mini Prosecco, pen with their dates on, Mars bar, mini jar of marmalade for those who wanted them.

In my 30th birthday party bags were: mini bags of Maltesers and Party Rings, Haribo, post it notes, tube of Smarties, a Freddo, random chocolate bar, mini gum ball machine (courtesy of B&M which is where I got most of the stuff!) and a mystery Harry Potter keyring.

I said I'd actually like the figurine! So like OP said, her people like it, not everyone wants prosecco etc like others are saying to do instead of the ornament

I'd probably display an ornament and bin the prosecco
