To ask for help making an adult party bag

Hello
Having a big event this year. Not a wedding or birthday but a big celebration. 50 guests. I want to do each guest a party bag to take away. So far I have got the following ideas but I think it's a bit boring
Pic and mix in the colour scheme of the party
A mini homemade cake (my friend is a Baker so is doing these)
A small ornament connected to the event (think mini logo figure type thing)

I'm doing an individual card for each guest

What else can I put in?
I want it to be nice so can spend some money but not a huge amount
Any ideas?

My adult dd was given one at a close friend's 30th, it had cake, a coffee sachet, a tea bag, a eyemask, fluffy socks, pk of those little biscuits you get individually wrapped and a doctor who little themed gift ( they all became friends when much younger through their love of doctor who) it went down really well and the figures were loved as it was something personal between them all.

This is exactly the sort of thing my ornament is. A shared heartfelt thing

Could the ornament be made into a key ring (those personalised Lego mini figures can)? I would prefer that to an ornament that would gather dust as I could use it as a key ring or luggage tag.

We use cotton drawstring bags as kids party bags that can be reused as shoe bags (handy for packing shoes in suitcases, not just PE kit!) or storage. They only cost about £2 from a manufacturer rather than a party supply company. You can get tote or shopping bags or those fold up handbag shopping bags too. I embroider or appliqué them but there are lots of companies that offer custom printing or embroidery on their bags. A huge logo or the event details printed on the bag would be a bit naff but if you are creative you could come up with a design that reflects the event, possibly with the event details or names hidden in the artwork.

As an adult I wouldn't want pick and mix or an ornament! That would go straight in the bin.

Probably one of the many reasons you are not friends with the OP and therefore not invited! 😂 OP has very clearly said that the group attending will appreciate the ornaments.

Bee bomb?

Have I missed the part where OP said that all the guests are female? Not sure many blokes are going to want a pair of fold up ballet flats...

The party bags don’t have to be identical 🙄

As you say it's life affirming rather than birthday or whatever - is it connected to getting over an illness?

I say this because a friend of mine instead of having traditional favours at his wedding had pins from a dementia charity. I still wear mine on my jacket lapel.

Is there something like that you could choose?

Miniature, pen, key ring, little torch, notebook, post it notes.

Kind of like stocking filler ideas then? Go for things that can be used up or passed on, that way even if someone doesn’t want theirs, it’s not wasteful, and it’s fun for the enthusiastic ones 😂

personally I would like a swag/party bag with
Mini booze bottle
fancy soap
scampi fries

😂 scampi fries. YES!

theemmadilemma · 02/08/2024 13:57

Hang over kit.

KimKardashiansLostEarring · 02/08/2024 13:58

I’d worry if you do something smelly eg candle or soap, and a cake, the cake may taste soapy. I definitely vote cake if it’s one or the other.

a nail varnish for everyone
lindor
lottery ticket
a good pen

I just bought these to put in welcome bags for an event

If you could get canvas tote bags for the party bags that would be great. I'd like any combination of mini booze, chocolate, biscuits, cheese, other foody things. I've had charity shop books in a similar situation, selected to suit each recipient.

EmberAsh · 02/08/2024 14:02

I know this isn't the point of the thread but I am very curious. What is a life affirming event?

My bags will be recyclable ones. Probably paper. Maybe with a personalised sticker on.
Nobody from the guests will see the ornament as a dust gatherer . I can absolutely vouch for that. Key ring is a nice idea that I will explore

A party for a reason that is not a time marked thing like a birthday or anniversary
