Totally disgusted by those rioting in Southport

Southport has experienced the most unbelievable tragedy.

Their emergency services had to respond to probably the most traumatic calls they’ve ever had, yet tonight they are being attacked by thugs?

The latest is that these people are destroying people’s homes to get bricks with which to throw at the police.

I am heartbroken, bewildered and disgusted. How dare they destroy the homes of that grieving town.

Think it’s kicking off in Southend and Leeds now too. This could easily spread.

The police need to give more information out. They virtually ruled out terrorism within an hour so if they have information to the contrary they really need to release it.

There is plenty of information about the tragedy in Southport on reputable news sites.

Homelessness and child poverty are bad because of capitalism. People in the UK treat property as an investment rather than a home. Rental properties exist to generate profits, not provide housing. Everything here is designed to extract value from the poor and give it to the rich. Even mass immigration is caused by that mechanism. When your own working class are too expensive you bring in another layer who you can exploit even more. It’s all about profit and making money.

Immigrants pay taxes that fund our schools, home building and hospitals. Immigrants STAFF our schools, home building and hospitals. If you have children, and those children have trained teachers standing in front of them, some of those teachers will be immigrants and refugees. We don't have enough Brits willing to do it. If you are eating British farm produce then it has most likely been harvested by immigrants, as we don't have enough Brits willing to do it.

If you want to get sngey at anyone, get sngey at the government for dismissing peoples concerns and allowing it to come to this.

Having researched child poverty and the attainment gap at postgraduate level, I would say it's a good basic explanation. Certainly nothing to do with boats or immigration as another poster tried to infer. Marxist is also a pretty big leap.
