Totally disgusted by those rioting in Southport

Southport has experienced the most unbelievable tragedy.

Their emergency services had to respond to probably the most traumatic calls they’ve ever had, yet tonight they are being attacked by thugs?

The latest is that these people are destroying people’s homes to get bricks with which to throw at the police.

I am heartbroken, bewildered and disgusted. How dare they destroy the homes of that grieving town.

@Bex5490 But it’s okay for it to be on random thugs as long as they’re not the protesting type (I’m assuming you mean brown thugs instead of white ones) that have no relation to the events in Southport?

Well, I think we've found the issue here. It's people who are not concerned about societal problems, and instead prefer to create fake racism inside their heads.

So do you share the societal concerns of the ‘protesters?’

Some of us are the families and friends of these children and adults. I can't begin to describe how we feel about the person who has killed and maimed our loved ones. One of the first persons to go to help and face the attacker was a man of colour.

Grief doesn't stop us being angry about those who turned up the following evening to smash up our town and frighten a neighbourhood already traumatised.

And it makes me more angry when I see idiot posts claiming that these thugs turned up on the back of a peaceful vigil to " protest" in a vile exhibition that terrified local children and adults even further.

I am so deeply sorry for what happened and I hope your town gets to grieve in peace ❤️

This child was more frightened by the riots than the stabbing:

FlowersLarkLane, I'm so sorry. Hopefully your post will shame those idiots away (though I fear 'idiot' is too benign a term)

This obsession of Russia when Chinese tik tok blithely misdirects. You're all looking in the wrong direction half the time.

Of course Russia is behind a lot of this, including the lies spread on SM following the atrocity in Southport. It is not misdirection to say so.Hmm It is known.

Just as its known that Russia funded a lot of the Leave propaganda during the Brexit referendum.

The useful idiots' nature of the, predominantly, English people and their willingness to be Putin's British puppets has been very beneficial to him. It has cost the UK dearly.

LarkLane · 02/08/2024 01:20

@Bex5490 thanks. The people of Southport are looking after each other and grateful for the support and empathy of genuine people Flowers

I've seen some things in my life. This is like living in a horror movie suddenly hijacked by hundreds of white men (the irony of the BLM analogy pp) who smashed up our neighbourhood on the pretext of support. Using dead children to prop up their own hate agenda is the pits of hell. They don't care about us, just about using us. They aren't welcome in our town,

Imagine searching for racism in a comment that contained no racism, and then being more outraged by non-existent racism than 3 dead girls.

That is a disgusting comment, shame on you.

A bizarre statement, The ones running around with machetes in Southend were not kids - they were adult men. And of course police have shot assailants carrying bladed weapons - as recently in January this year.

What on earth does Jean Charles de Menezes have to do with it? He was unarmed, which hardly supports your argument.

He was brown, there had just been a terrorist attack. He was totally innocent but he was killed because he was brown.

TooBigForMyBoots · 02/08/2024 01:44

shuggles · 02/08/2024 00:24

I agree with that. But I'm only somewhat annoyed with people who start fires and damage property. On the other hand, I am extremely angry, annoyed, and heartbroken that 3 children died who were doing nothing more than attending a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

So in terms of directing anger, why on earth are people seemingly more annoyed with the protestors than the murderer?

Because they're not protestors.🙄

They're far right skanky yobs who are using the Southport atrocity to put police officers in hospital, loot businesses, assault people, destroy property, cost the country ££££ and inflict fear and toxic male violence on communities.

They're not protestors. At best they're ignorant: Useful idiots in Putin's plan to weaken and destabilise the UK. At worst? They're violent, dangerous scum regardless of outside influence.

I'm not condoing the riots that happened in Southport . Far from it. But, these thugs caused havoc the other night. Didn't see them outside court today when the murderer of these children turned up? No protests then?

Because they really don't give a shit about those little girls, it was an excuse to target the non white community, nothing more nothing less

I’m truly sorry you had to experience all that @scatterolight , but that’s a Man thing, not a Particular Ethnicity thing. We shouldn’t have to put up with it, it’s true, but I experienced many of those abusive things from White men.

Edited

I’m not PP, but if the harassment she’s experienced came predominantly from particular groups as she says, then your telling her it’s just “a man thing” sounds like gaslighting, sorry.
It’s basically telling her she shouldn’t trust the evidence of her own eyes.
Similar to when women ask for single sex spaces for biological women only and people tell them there’s no need, because their problem are men, not transwomen.
People should be able to share their experiences without having them watered down straight away.
Most people wouldn’t say everyone from background Y is guilty of Z, but depending on the area and its demographic you might see certain behaviour predominantly coming from particular groups.
I’m an immigrant myself FWIW and if there were noticeable issues connected to people from the same background as me I wouldn’t try to shut down any discussion about it.

Not quite the nirvana that you're selling it as @DecusCulinae "0.08% of Muslim population" or not.

They know and think it's great. Big fan of systemic racism that poster is.

Yep. They talk about lack of integration, but don't seem to understand that they themselves need to integrate better into UK society. Perhaps a course on how not to be racist towards UK citizens would help?

PandoraSox · 02/08/2024 10:04

I wonder if certain posters have read this article.

I’ve moved to the UK 2012, and lived at said address for 1 month and a half in 2014. Not aware if 2014 was a particularly bad year… 🤔

Love when people move to the UK, fail to integrate with the non-white population and want an all white state.

PandoraSox · 02/08/2024 10:23

2014 wasn't a bad year. It was before the Brexit referendum was even announced and before the racists got emboldened.

I chuckle every time someone dismisses something as “racism”. Interesting how my black British husband born to British parents none of whom were immigrants, speaks things I speak about quite publicly and is never called a racist. He is openly allowed to express himself because of how he looks. But me, who happens to have blue eyes, gets called a racist just because 😏 racism goes both ways - it’s hate of race. And uk doesn’t have racism problem. Neither does Switzerland. It’s just a word that people use when they don’t agree with stats. Far left is as bad as far right.
