Totally disgusted by those rioting in Southport

Southport has experienced the most unbelievable tragedy.

Their emergency services had to respond to probably the most traumatic calls they’ve ever had, yet tonight they are being attacked by thugs?

The latest is that these people are destroying people’s homes to get bricks with which to throw at the police.

I am heartbroken, bewildered and disgusted. How dare they destroy the homes of that grieving town.

I believe in strict profiling and rigid border control force, as I’ve pointed out above. Nothing to do with countries religions or immigration in general.

The worst murder rate in UK is NI. I can confidently assert that that isn't to do with the lack of integration of immigrants from Asia, Africa or wherever one wants to point the finger.

Swiss' crime rate would be around 0.6%.
Since there are huge differences between different nationalities, I can only assume that the correlation with poverty does exist but there is also something else, as the differences in poverty are probably not as large as the difference in crime rates. These are my assumptions though
A small footnote: for nationalities with small populations the percentage can vary a lot from year to year. One main trend that always appears, however, is the strong crime rates of people issued from the 3 maghreb countries.
Another small footnote: the data also includes breach of refugee law, but law nonetheless.

The riots are a direct result of the public being manipulated into spreading lies and creating disorder. Every person who spread Russian lies about the suspect is responsible for creating division, pain, terror and a shit load of damage. dogs can be kept as pets as well as working dogs. Just their saliva is considered dirty so they are normally kept outdoors. in warmer Muslim countries it us common to have dogs but because it's cold here and dogs can't be kept outdoors, many uk Muslims don't grow up with dogs and hence end up being anxious around them

I know a bit about this stuff and the UK as an entity doesn't have crime figures so not sure where your Swiss list is garnering it's stats from.

Back when I was 11 we moved to London from Scotland and ended up on an exclusively white council estate not far from the upper regions of Ladbroke Grove. If you know what that area is like you'll know how unusual that is but my dad, who had extensive professional dealings with the RBKC, knew that they zoned their estates, keeping the more scummy ones for non white residents and Irish families.

A huge number of people we came in to contact with on that estate were fully fledged members of the National Front and/or British Movement. Skins would zeig heil in the youth club disco or the terrace of Queen's Park Rangers. They had swastika tattoos. They hated everyone who wasn't white English. Everyone - including us, because despite being British we weren't Engerlish from Engerland. Me, my parents and even grandparents when they came to visit, were told to fuck off back home many times. They had no time for education, most teens leaving school before exams. Jobs were manual labour or shops. There was a lot of petty theft, things fell of the back of a lorry, lots of violence. My mum once met one of the skins heading off "down the lane to beat up some cxxxs." Apologies for the language but that it what it was like day in, day out. Even my so-called friends would tell me I'd be deported when the National Front got in. They were vile and we were all very happy to escape from there.

I thought people like that had died out or been shamed into hiding their extreme racism. I remember watching a pathetic EDL march going past a friend's balcony in London and there were about 6 desperate skins surrounded by police being ridiculed by passers by. This was the early 2000's.

But no - they were all just keeping their nasty racist views on hold until they could be blatant. Thanks to Nigel, Lawrence, Tommeh etc they are out and proud. These people blame every little miserable thing in their life on immigrants, on black people, on Indian and Pakistani people, on Eastern European people, on Jews... you name it. They. Hate. Everyone. Everyone who isn't white and English. It isn't their lack of education, ignorance and criminal behaviour that's stopping them becoming a success, buying a house, getting a job...it's all the immigrants.

There was no talking to them back then - believe me my dad tried, he ran the local community centre, offered all sorts of fabulous events, courses, club, music, sports, art nights etc. He ended up having to ban so many of them for blatant racism and violence. Every time I see images of rioting white men like those we saw yesterday, I get such a visceral reaction because I know what they are like and I'm a white Brit. I cannot imagine what it must be like if you're not and have to deal with those scum. I'd rather live next to a hundred immigrants than people like that.

according to many of the racists I grew up with, you needed three generations of white English to make you a proper English person... I think they were quoting some British movement bollocks at the time. Of course the British movement lovers actually hated other Brits who were't English...

My dd's primary school had probably 40% Muslim children. They came to parties and sleepovers and I just didn't do Haribo and checked re lunch whether pasta or fish fingers were fine etc like I would for anyone. And there was no issue whatsoever. Sounds like extrapolating one possibly awkward family to all "asians" Her secondary school had 40 different native languages I think. Racism and xenophobia is a barrier to people integrating for the most part. I am an immigrant elsewhere and appreciate that it IS hard to get fully integrated. I try though. If people were constantly slagging me off for watching the BBC and seeking proper sausages it would hardly encourage me. My daughter though not born here is full on local.

I've done a lot of family history and gone many, many, generations back on many lines. I have yet to find an ancestor from anywhere more far flung than Yorkshire (I live in hope) and I probably have "White English Person" going through me like a stick of rock, but I absolutely do not share the views of people who hate someone for being " different" and I abhor their actions. We all came here from somewhere, some more recently than others, and the thing that makes me proud to be English is the sense of inclusion, welcome and fairness that usually prevails somehow.

Anyone citing their black/Jewish/Muslim family members and friends while making veiled racist comments, perhaps out of anxiety or fear, know this. The Far Right mean them, all of them. They make no distinctions other than the ones they choose to apply, which makes all of those you like or love lesser in their eyes. They don't care if someone's Jewish great grandparents escaped a progrom in 1880, or a Sikh family needed refuge from Idi Amin, or a kid from Syria crossed the Channel last week. All hated just the same. That needs to be remembered.

So because you know one family like this that means all immigrants are the same does it? I'm sure there are white British families similar to what you are describing. It's basically like saying all white British dog owners don't pick up after their dog's.
