Totally disgusted by those rioting in Southport

Southport has experienced the most unbelievable tragedy.

Their emergency services had to respond to probably the most traumatic calls they’ve ever had, yet tonight they are being attacked by thugs?

The latest is that these people are destroying people’s homes to get bricks with which to throw at the police.

I am heartbroken, bewildered and disgusted. How dare they destroy the homes of that grieving town.

Thing is no go areas go both ways. I live in a very Muslim dominated area where there are several no-go areas. I cant risk my son walking anywhere outside our own street as there are many attacks on white oeople. It's pretty scarey. We have to drive him everywhere. My point being by diluting white people, the situation can then flip.

It's so difficult we live in a cul de sac of ten. Nine white Welsh families. Then a mixed race Asian family moved in at first everything seemed fine, but slowly we realised our Welsh children aren't welcome to play in the cul de sac.

. A couple of properties have come up for sale at prices that they think ridiculous, they'd have bought if they'd been cheaper.

Their oldest went to the local secondary and hasn't excelled like his cousins elsewhere. So he's in trouble. They're very critical of our Welsh schools which ain't perfect I'll admit.

My grandchildren play with them at school but are shunned by them when they visits us. Very confusing for a six year old. They're lovely kids but not allowed to birthday parties or play dates ever.

They are just so angry about everything these days. We're all walking on eggs here.

But honestly we haven't done anything.

We have had two major riots in as many weeks, this one and Harehills.

Last year we had Hindu /Muslim riots in Leicester, and a few month ago riots broke between differing groups of Eritreans and a similar riot between different factions of Bangladeshis earlier this month.

None of these should have happened and I suspect are very much down to the lack of proper policing at the moment, due to lack of funding and proper support for officers who have to put themselves on the front line. The French have the CRS who specialise in dealing with riots, and I'm not sure we want that here.

All rioters should be treated the same. The EDL are a bunch of repellent morons but singling them out as a unique problem is not the answer either, if anything it will garner them even more support.

A friend has family in Bradford, this sounds depressingly familiar.

I just find accounts like this incredible. 80% of my children's friends are from ethnic minorities and we've never experienced anything like this. We have sleepovers and play dates with our Muslim friends, birthday parties. They have pets too!

Yep it's disgusting. The EDL and other right wing pricks have immediately tried to capitalise on those poor little girls deaths. I've seen reports that it was committed by a Syrian refugee (false) and illegal immigrant (false) and a Muslim gang (false). We had an incident last week when a young boy was pulled into a car and beaten up badly early evening. It was reported to police but nothing done. Local MP is less than useless, and situation just being allowed to continue under the radar. Fortunately house for sale and moving miles out of the area.

If they'd come out on Tuesday morning and said the name was Mohammed Islam (made up for effect) I suppose everyone would have shrugged their shoulders and gone home satisfied? At the end of the day, the identity of the perpetrator has absolutely nothing to do with anyone rioting or protesting, anyone at the vigil, or anyone watching on BBC news 24. It's a matter for the police, criminal prosecution service, and for the victims and families. And that's it.

He appears to be an Asian thug. We can clearly see from the film footage that he isn't white. What we can't see however, is whether is he identifies as right wing, left wing, or anything else. He clearly went tooled up and ready for some bother though, whatever his politics.

My Asian Muslim neighbours come round to see my dog. It is true they keep their young children away from neighbours families who are racist.
