Totally disgusted by those rioting in Southport

Bex5490 · 30/07/2024 22:18

Southport has experienced the most unbelievable tragedy.

Their emergency services had to respond to probably the most traumatic calls they’ve ever had, yet tonight they are being attacked by thugs?

The latest is that these people are destroying people’s homes to get bricks with which to throw at the police.

I am heartbroken, bewildered and disgusted. How dare they destroy the homes of that grieving town.

I am so pleased to see the community response in Southport to what happened.
It's shocking to see the violence that erupted after such a horrendous incident and my heart goes out to the families affected.

Social media and certain politicians have a lot to answer for in how they have played a part in radicalising people. I hope that some people are reflecting on the role they played here.

We don’t have ‘rights’, thats an Americanism. We have civil liberties in this country

We also have laws about libel, defamation and inciting racial hatred and to be honest I think the time is upon us where these need to be enforced online in the same way as they have been in print.

Deliberately making up and spreading rumours and insinuations about the ethnicity of the murderer, as soon as the violence happened was a major incitement.

All the posters earnestly saying “he’s WELSH, BRITISH what do you mean by send him home?” aren’t getting the point: what these thugs are trying to say is he shouldn’t, actually cannot possibly be British if he’s got not-white skin. And you can extrapolate that to the islamophobes: you can’t possibly be British if you’re Muslim.

It’s straight out of the Trump playbook, the most recent overtly racist leader the West has seen. Farage is the same, and his acolytes are worse (because they’re too thick to understand the value to themselves (let alone anyone else) of compromise). When they say they’re anti-woke, what they mean is that they’re anti-modernisation, anti-globalisation, anti-consequences-of-your-own-actions: they want “their” countries to go back to the way they were, when white people were superior and in charge in these lands for the colour of their skin/being indigenous (oh the irony) and everyone else had fewer and lesser - or no - rights.

It’s about them feeling threatened in “their own” country. Every attack like this is grist to the mill. If they just got back to no non-white people, or non-white people accepting their second class status and only ever being on the receiving end and living in ghettos out of sight, everything would be fine for them. They feel they’re protecting their heritage, their culture, their very identity in their own country.

You are right and I think everyone posting that knows it.

Unfortunately if you directly said this in reply to posters you run the risk of deletion/banning for a personal attack :( so posters have to be circumspect.

TL;DR

Let me guess any one who does not see the world through my woke glasses are thick. Am I right?

Anyone who refuses to read what they've quoted and instead makes stuff up and believes it to be true is a bit thick tbh.

Anyone who spread the lies of countries hostile to the UK because they thought it made them sound clever is a bit thick and treasonous.

Anyone who thought attacking a mosque and further traumatising the people of Southport was a good idea is a thick, vicious cunt who's exploiting this tragedy because they want to cause more pain and damage to the UK.

I hadn't seen this. How very tragic. My heart goes out to her, the other parents, the Southport community and the police.

No one will ever convince me EDL thugs are there to have a conversation about immigration.

It was just on BBC news that she has called for calm. How fucking disgusting that a grieving mother even has to think about twats rioting and try and stop it.

Unfortunately there's no room in prisons.

Maybe they should repurpose the Bibby Stockholm temporarily.

bojosquiff · 30/07/2024 22:37

@Scottishlassie28 you sound dense as the rest of the cretins rioting just so they can have a boozy fight night. An immigrant...from wales. Think about it.

The fact that people are salivating other the ethnicity of the perpetrator before the full details are even out there is sickening to me.

Precisely. It’s appalling. They don’t care about the children they just care about justifying and fuelling their hatred.

I agree but honestly I wouldn’t bother engaging with this poster . They sound extremely unintelligent, wilfully ignorant and immature.

ll09sm · 30/07/2024 22:33

Who is justifying it?

Your outrage doesn’t change the situation. Standing on he sidelines going ‘oh how bad’ doesn’t change why this is happening. It’s happening because people, irrespective of being right or wrong, good or bad, smart or stupid, have been told that they are racist for questioning how they feel about mass migration.

Shutting people up instead of listening to whatever they are saying, no matter he merits of the argument, is the stupidest thing that you can do. Strangely enough the progressive liberals are some of the stupidest people, never acknowledging the unintended consequences of their virtue signalling.

Thats what this is about.

What on earth does this have to do with the murder of children by a British 17 year old?!

I can listen to your concerns, but how do they relate to this atrocity?

Caerulea · 31/07/2024 13:28

midgetastic · 31/07/2024 12:24

You do know that most of the areas with the biggest load of racists are also the whitest areas in the uk ? Like clacton. There are not many immigrants there taking homes and jobs

Where people live side by side with people of different skin colour they stop being scared of them

It's disgusting to pick on people because of the colour of their skin or where they were born just cause they are better people that you and that makes you scared

Not remotely surprised. I'm in Cornwall which is white as white can be. The monoculture here is in desperate need of diluting and as a result racism/xenophobia really is still a thing. THAT SAID no seats went to Reform or those nutters of the Heritage group & the conservatives (not saying Tory voters are all racist!!) have been wiped out. So the morons are still a minority, thankfully, & the younger generations don't seem to be carrying the same torches as the older ones.

OneBadKitty · 31/07/2024 13:30

They’re just a bunch of thugs! No better than those in Leeds or those idiots protesting about the Manchester Airport incident!

The culture needs diluted? Can you imagine if someone said that about areas of north London etc. Vile

Lentilweaver · 31/07/2024 13:33

I note the thick EDL thugs are now attacking shops owned by Sri Lankans in Southport. Who would likely be Buddhist and have as much to do with the perpetrator as an Australian would have to do with US school shootings. Basically anyone who is brown, really.

bojosquiff · 30/07/2024 22:20

The far right appear to have turned up with crates of cider, attacking the police and trying to storm a mosque. I am disgusted. What do the actions of one madman have to do with attacking police and innocent people in a mosque? They are using the horrific deaths of these children as an excuse for a piss up and a riot.

Agree although it was a mad teenager/child not a man.

Certainly nothing to do with supporting families of children being stabbed.

The rioting is just because they want to

Lessening the number of white people doesn’t make an area less racist.

If the people living there are racist that’s because they are just racist. It’s not as if they don’t know other cultures exist.

Scaredaycat · 31/07/2024 13:37

@Bex5490 I'm disgusted too. I grew up in a place where ethnic blame game was one of the main strategies used to appease people's anger over economic dissatisfaction caused by the corrupt government. This is not new to me.

It's all too easy to portray the minority in a bad light, particularly when some members of this group committed a crime. Media would report it like crazy to fan people's anger and divert it effectively and exclusively to this group, leaving the real culprit in peace. This is all just "divide et impera" all over again.

I hate political scapegoating, notably when children become victims and collateral damage. I can just hope that people don't take the bait and instead critically observe who benefit from all this racial tensions.

My deepest condolences to the victims' family 😢.

midgetastic · 31/07/2024 13:38

Why would anyone who is anti immigration think that rioting would make me think their opinion valid?

Big bullies should never get rewarded with what they want

I don't understand. Is there something inherently wrong with the Cornish people? Do all 'monocultures' need 'diluting'?

@Scottishlassie28's posts are sad proof that the once-lauded Scottish education system has gone the way of the Norwegian Blue.

@twistybranch still think a group of people arent judged by actions or words of one?

CantDealwithChristmas · 31/07/2024 13:35

Love them, it's part of my heritage. But I grew up in the Midlands so can see, first hand, the difference in attitude when there's a total lack of multiculturalism.

There used to be a woman who travelled round the primary schools, working with them to educate on other religions & teach the kids about different cultures. Not just the religion but the food, lifestyles, music, festivals - she was incredible & the only exposure the kids had to anything other than white British.

But sure... Imply I hate the Cornish (literally have roots here from the 14th century) 🤷🏼‍♀️
