I’m 5 ft 3. Hair as long as models so back is typically covered. Worn with flat nude sandals so very casual.

Well you have to be covered head to toe to leave the house as a woman in SA.

Hence the comparison.

Not everyone lives like that over there. Don't be ignorant

NecessaryNC24 · 05/07/2024 13:07

Well they're brave then.

But the OP doesn't have to be, which is the point.

Erm that's not the point she was making stop being silly. Op can wear and do what she wants but her post does not have to be insulating to others. Try sticking to your own issues before you talk about others (typical of certain types) just get on with your problems. You've probably never stepped foot in Saudi so maybe educate yourself.

Insulating ?

Ok you have your opinion and I have mine but I think we should stop derailing OP's thread now.

Peace ✌🏻.

You cannot have been to Saudi and pretend there's no difference in womenswear with the UK 😂😂

Even mainland Europe tend to be a bit...puzzled by some of the revealing party outfits we are famous for.

The OP's dress is just a dress. SA aside, there's absolutely nothing contentious about it. It's a pretty, plain, black day dress. You need a weird or jealous mind to have any issue with it.

Packetofcrispsplease · 05/07/2024 18:48

It’s cute and should be absolutely fine , you’ve said you’re small at 5’3” so should be a reasonable length for you .
I would only worry about sunburn on back

Hankunamatata · 05/07/2024 18:50

As long as you can't see your knickers, it's fine

FateReset · 05/07/2024 18:53

What kind of 'event' would you wear a plain cotton or linen backless sundress to, though?

A bbq or summer garden event? A birthday party after work? A date on the beach?

It's backless, reveals a lot of leg and has sort of cut out bits. So it looks strange for school pick up unless a one-off (dashing to an event straight from school run)

Crazycatlady79 · 05/07/2024 20:37

@Collard I love this dress! Where's it from? 👀👀👀

Pipsqueaker · 05/07/2024 20:41

I personally wouldn’t, because I am tall and it is very short. It would only take for me to bend to greet my child, or a gust of wind to flash my entire backside.
But if you are shorter than me it is most likely more decent on you.

Teenagehorrorbag · 11/07/2024 22:38

Nobody would bat an eyelid at short shorts would they? So what's the difference? Who cares (or even notices).
