My husband has the heating on

We're in a small flat in the UK and it's boiling. He's washed some clothes and decided to put the heating on to dry them over the radiators.

"We" tried drying them over a drying rack next to an open window and he decided that they smelled bad after 30 mins so washed them again.

Now every radiator in the flat is blasting out heat and I've got a headache. He won't turn them off.

Is this normal?? Im so pissed off!

What? No it’s boiling.

saveforthat · 25/06/2024 16:40

No it's not normal. I'm assuming you have no outside space for a line? Try a clothes horse in a sunny window

FrenchandSaunders · 25/06/2024 16:40

Christ what a knob!

Blouson · 25/06/2024 16:40

DH is Rockerfeller!

FrenchandSaunders · 25/06/2024 16:40

How do you normally dry your washing!

Champagnebar · 25/06/2024 16:40

What!??? He’s BVU

saveforthat · 25/06/2024 16:41

They won't smell any nicer on a hot radiator, probably worse.

greengreyblue · 25/06/2024 16:41

He’s not right int he head.

dontforgetme · 25/06/2024 16:41

I think I wouldn't actually punch my oh if he turned the heating on right now.

Cattery · 25/06/2024 16:41

😱🥵

Dotto · 25/06/2024 16:41

Is he 13? Send him out for a tumbledryer.

Not acceptable.

Yes, that's what I suggested, but he said the clothes smelled bad after half an hour (they didn't) so now every radiator is on.

We have a washer/ dryer.

He won't use it because he says it ruins his clothes.

He sounds like an arse.

I couldn't live with the heating on in the heat we are currently having.

Beezknees · 25/06/2024 16:43

Why would they smell bad?

I live in a flat with no outside space and dry all my clothes on an airer, they smell lovely as I use nice softener and in this weather they dry quickly!

Greengrapeofhome · 25/06/2024 16:43

What’s the temperature in your flat?! Must be absolutely boiling!

FictionalCharacter · 25/06/2024 16:44

Of course it isn’t normal.

ShowOfHands · 25/06/2024 16:44

Turn it off fgs.

saveforthat · 25/06/2024 16:44

So how long have you lived in the flat and how come this problem hasn't come up before?

BlondeFool · 25/06/2024 16:45

That's extremely weird.

I have a heated dryer from Lakeland which is brilliant.

greengreyblue · 25/06/2024 16:45

I have washing on the line and underwear inside in utility room. It dries because it’s warm inside too. Duh!

Pippa12 · 25/06/2024 16:46

Good grief, that’s ludicrous! He must have more money than bloody sense- ours didn’t go on when it was freezing never mind cracking the flags!

MichaelFabricantsSyrup · 25/06/2024 16:48

It's 25° in the house today in rooms without fans.

Does he have money to burn?

Even with HRT I'm boiling 🥵 I think I'd expire with the heating on too.

AmelieTaylor · 25/06/2024 16:50

What have you been doing until today????

He's been having the heating on when it's warm, however, not when it's this warm.

He doesn't seem to think there's an issue at all.
