Holly Valance from neighbours has donated 50k to reform. The mind boggles.

Used to be a fan and loved the last episode of neighbours where she was in London.

Stop the world I want to get off.

It’s her money. She can do whatever she likes with it.

Echobelly · 21/06/2024 21:45

Well, she is married to a particularly unpleasant ubercapitalist so I'm not surprised that's her politics.

nomoretreats · 21/06/2024 21:48

She also hosted a fundraiser for Donald Trump recently.

StarDolphins · 21/06/2024 21:49

Her money, her choice I guess.

EatMoreFibre · 21/06/2024 21:51

She's free to do whatever she wants

We're free to form an opinion about her based on her words and actions

DinaofCloud9 · 21/06/2024 21:51

Why does it matter what she spends her money on?

CassandraWebb · 21/06/2024 21:52

Such a vivid contrast to the fab stuff Margot Robbie has done with her life

Luxell934 · 21/06/2024 21:53

Well she could donate her entire husbands bank account and it wouldn't be enough for them to win the election surely.

StripedPiggy · 21/06/2024 21:54

I don’t share or agree with Holly Valance’s political views, but Reform is a mainstream political party, so she is perfectly entitled to support them and to donate to them. In exactly the same way as I have donated more modest sums to Labour.

Democracy isn’t free, so good for her.

Of course she can do whatever she likes with her money! What a weird thing to say. I think we all understand what a free society means. It means being able to express opinions. My opinion is that it is very surprising that she has chosen to give money to Reform and that she supports Donald Trump because most actors are well travelled and open minded rather than bigoted. That does not mean that I think she should not be ‘allowed’ to do that, or that I am cancelling her.

It's a limited company not a political party

Beezknees · 21/06/2024 21:56

She can do what she wants, I can also say that I think she's an awful woman who massively benefits from rich privilege and has no idea what she's talking about.

It is not unreasonable however to look at what reform stands for (and who they have recruited as candidates and supporters) and form a fairly negative opinion of anyone who supports them

It's both.

Why is she awful?

Gakpo · 21/06/2024 22:03

Her husband has said some nice things about Kier Starmer, despite previously donating money to the Tories.

Awful politics, awful views, friends with awful men...

Lol. So just different views to you then.

I imagine he tries to stay in the good books of every political party so they don't go digging around in his tax affairs

FitAt50 · 21/06/2024 22:15

She is married to one of the Billionaire Candy brothers and has became a proper right wing nutter. Hosts fund raising parties for Trump etc

Ireolu · 21/06/2024 22:16

It's well known that she has these right leaning views. She married a wealthy man and now spends his money as she sees fit. I personally think she is hideous. This opinion is formed on what reform stand for. Their ideology is so far from my belief system that for me anyone that supports them in this way is not a person I would think is decent.

wickerlady · 21/06/2024 22:16

So what? It's her money and her right to choose which party she supports.

Despicable suggesting that there is only one acceptable party to admit to supporting at the moment and a seriously sad sign of the times.

CassandraWebb · 21/06/2024 22:17

My one slight softening in my horror is that I wonder how much power she has in the relationship. He has all the wealth and often those relationships are deeply unhealthy because the power dynamic is so skewed.

Noddedoffagain · 21/06/2024 22:17

It’s very hard to understand how a woman can support men who hate women. Trump and Farage are mysoginistic. Farage supports Andrew Tate and his views. Is a sympathiser of Putin.

These men all represent toxic masculinity and are dangerous for women’s rights. I think any woman supporting them is bonkers.

Noone is suggesting there is only one party. But reform have borrowed half their candidates from the BNP and are just a far right party in all but name.
