I am aiming to do below 30mins but it’s hard

22:30, but I’m mid 30s. Aiming to get back below 20 which is where I was at my peak. It is definitely hard!

Shopgirl1 · 14/06/2024 21:00

Currently not running much. It was 28 min at parkrun last week. Fastest is 22 minutes about 18 months ago. I’m 47.

Mummyofthewildones · 14/06/2024 21:00

3-5 working days 😅

3-5 working days 😅

I came here to say this.

Frangoz · 14/06/2024 21:01

Oh wow! Good for you all. I just started running, not even thinking about the low 20s. Even if I did 29:59 I’d be delighted haha

Fastest 28 mins 32. Only time I've got under 30 mins as I was on holiday somewhere very flat!

MrMotivatorsLeotard · 14/06/2024 21:02

Just to balance these super impressive below 30 minute times Grin I usually do it in about 34 minutes. I’m not looking to get faster really though. I’m just happy to be able to do a 5k, having only taken up running/regular exercise in my 30s.

Kitchenwitchery · 14/06/2024 21:02

37 minutes but I'm 50-something and not built for speed.

RampantIvy · 14/06/2024 21:03

I never got below 40 minutes, but I thought that was good going at 59. Unfortunately arthritis has got the better of me so I ride a bike instead these days.

Chocolateorange22 · 14/06/2024 21:03

26/27 mins I'm 36 years old. Been running now for about 7 years. Could probably do better but like to not feel like I'm going to die when running.

Fishlegs · 14/06/2024 21:05

I’m 48, my fastest time is 31 minutes but it’s usually 34. Would also love to do a sub 30!

TemuSpecialBuy · 14/06/2024 21:05

I started at about 45 or 50mins….not sure I’d manage that now tbh.

At my apex it was about 27mins
But I worked hard to get sub 30 as the park run course was pretty hilly.

anything sub 30 is pretty decent if you are non competitive and running for general health.

once just once! i did a 25min Something run on a completely flat course and was totally jazzed.

northernballer · 14/06/2024 21:05

19.19 in my 20's, 21.37 (and getting slower) now in my 40's. Wish I had appreciated my 19.19 at the time!

WineIsMyCarb · 14/06/2024 21:05

About 35 mins

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 14/06/2024 21:07

I’m on week 8 of couch to 5k and I covered 5k in 34 mins for my last run.

coloursquare · 14/06/2024 21:07

32

LammasEve · 14/06/2024 21:12

I'm much slower than everyone else on this thread! But I tend to run off road and in the hills. That's my excuse, anyway.

KidneyWarrior · 14/06/2024 21:12

20 mins when I was younger, but now after just starting to run after some pretty hard-core surgery, about 38 😅😅 it's just good to get out there and use my body properly again tbh, and the fitness quickly comes back, I mean it goes quickly too but 🤷‍♀️

StrawberrySquash · 14/06/2024 21:14

40 plus minutes. But I only run once a week.

ShowOfHands · 14/06/2024 21:15

Just under 23.

I'm 43 and not particularly quick by nature. 23 means really pushing and feeling like I might vomit. 26 is far more comfortable.

londonloves · 14/06/2024 21:16

26.11. I am 43 and have lost four and a half stone in the last two years. Only started running a year ago. Aiming for sub 2 hour half in October 😬😬and sub 1 hour 30 at Hyrox Frankfurt in December.

Scirocco · 14/06/2024 21:16

5 minutes by car.

Back when I actually ran/jogged, I'd do 5k in around 30 mins. I'd be a lot slower now though!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 14/06/2024 21:16

I wish I could run 5k and I am in awe of those who can.

Sub 30 is a big moment for sure! No reason why you can't get there if you keep at it.

Thelondonone · 14/06/2024 21:17

After 4 years of running I’m still chase a sub 30 5km. 31.36 fastest time but usually about 34/36.
