I have the DAFNI silicon straightening brush. Bought 4 years ago , used 3 times a week. Absolutely amazing.
I am super busy and can rough dry my hair and the spend 2 minutes brushing/ styling with dafni and have a sleek styled bob.
lifechaging for someone in a hurry who wants to look groomed.

Has anyone bought the really expensive seaweed shampoo from the Cornish Seaweed Bath company? I have and I want to love it (smells nice, the ethos of the company is great, yada yada yada), but my hair just isn't getting on with it. They claim it's the "detox" process from not having sulphates in it, but not sure how much longer to persevere. All the comments on SM (from what look like genuine, real people) are great, so I'd hate to stop using it right as it's about to start working!

I started using this about six months ago. I have blonde hair (with a bit of help from regular highlights at the hairdressers, as it's darkened over the years!). Its fine when dry, but oh my days, when it's wet it's like a matted birds nest! I've tried soooo many conditioners over the years, some better than others, but it still takes patience to comb through, even starting gently from the ends. The conditioner from the Cornish Seaweed company is absolutely amazing! My hairdresser noticed the difference with my hair the first time I visited after using the product, and I'm seriously considering taking the conditioner with me on my next visit - it takes him an age to comb through my wet hair, and apart from anything else, it hurts! I absolutely recommend the stuff (I might stop buying the shampoo, though, because buying the two products does work out expensive, and I'm hoping I only need the conditioner!).

Has anyone tried those nail powder dip kits? they are all over my instagram and i keep thinking “it can’t be that easy?”

I've started using sassy saints (though in hindsight would have made sure I was buying something shipped from the UK as the delivery took AGES). I like it, and my nails are coming out undamaged and are super strong when it's on. But it takes a long time to put on - I've not managed it in less than 1.5h the 3 times I've tried. I've not had any issues with removal - takes 5-10 minutes per hand.

This is a great thread. Has anyone bought any of the jewellery all over SM, apparently can be worn in shower, pool etc and never tarnishes? I like gold jewellery and I’m tempted to buy, but wondered if it looks cheap and nasty or is a funny shade of gold in real life.

Yes. This is the one

Hi again

Would you say it works like you see on TikTok? Does it firm and get rid of small wrinkles?

Does anyone rate the Phillips Lumea? At the moment I pay £90 every 6 weeks for waxing so if the Lumea really works it will pay for itself within a year! But I'm fairly fair skinned and my body hair is also quite fair, so will it work?

Just get it professionally lasered for the price you are paying for waxing

A heads up on Il Makiage - I looked amazing in photos and video calls but like a cakey hag in real life. I’m glad I got to meet my inner hag, should I ever get a job as a banshee, but I wasn’t expecting to find it in a make up bottle! It was very matte/powdery on wearing, that type of thing only works well on under 25s I think. I could have just had bad luck but definitely have a look through any reviews to see if it’s only young people praising it. Now, if you want to look like a babe on Teams calls, it would be a good buy for sure.

I use the Il Makiage, without the primer looks terrible with the primer looks fantastic and not caked on and although only mentally in my 30's I'm actually 60

Suri electric toothbrush is the one I’m curious about. Got stung by an “eco electric toothbrush” startup that took my money but can see these guys are pushing hard with the influencer crowd. Anyone vouch for them?

bought ne of these, best toothbrush I have ever had

LadyMarmar · 30/05/2024 09:54

I bought Snooze Band having seen them advertised on SM. Headphones within a headband / eye mask. that you can wear in bed. Absolutely fantastic. Really comfortable. Use it for sleep relaxation/ meditation tracks. Had previously bought inferior cheapo version from Amazon but no comparison really (really uncomfortable & kept going wrong - I threw them away). Highly recommend the snooze band

restart2008 · 30/05/2024 09:55

Another vote for snooze band. Really helps me get to sleep

usernother · 29/05/2024 22:44

@Phantasmagorically is it the stripey sun dress?
I see so many ads for that one.

Yes, but I've bought a plain coloured one. It's really flattering on.

it does look flattering in the TikToks I've seen. The fact it's 100% polyester (I think) put me off. But I might have another look.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 30/05/2024 10:14

Which revlon brush are lots of you recommending? I have the Babyliss big hair but it's not really working anymore.

I've got the Revlon style booster which has a slightly smaller brush size than the original One Step. The one I have is more suited to mid length or shorter hair.

The original one has a pretty massive brush so I guess it depends on hair length.

eileandubh · 30/05/2024 10:35

One for the curly people: I was lured into ordering a Bouncecurl styling brush after a million reels of stunned influencers and can confirm that it's... amazing.

Dupes are starting to appear on Amazon but I splashed out on the original and I have to say, it's made brush styling so much quicker and easier than faffing about with a Denman brush.

VeryGoodVeryNiceChickenNugget · 30/05/2024 11:17

Just had a look at the Il makiage website. If some of those pics of the lip looks are anything to go by, I wouldn't waste my money. Gormless springs to mind tbh.

I'm in my 50s and started getting crepy skin above my eye lids. I started using boots no7 pure night retinol on my face around a year ago and used a tiny amount just below eyebrows. The skin is back to smooth and has stayed smooth. Amazing stuff

I'm 55 and got a tiny bit started at the outer edge of the shadow area under the eye I sleep on. Can you use it there?

Daftapath · 30/05/2024 11:44

Withdrawn at poster's request.

I can't find it at the same price but there are similar at half the price and double the price Confused It did come all the way from China and the lead is quite short but so far it's been good. Although I do mostly only use the AirWrap and hair dryer attachments.

It was called something like 5 in 1 hot air styler.

@LittleSF I have the wee Tymo brush too. I do like it.

CactusMactus · 30/05/2024 12:41

I have the GHD hot brush and it's good.

@Thisismynewname23 At the moment i am using the origins Ginzing tinted moisteriser with SPF 40, It comes out white/grey and then matches your skintone. works perfect for me. Before i put that on i use Jojoba oil ( a very little bit to give me a dewy complexion) then i use the Better than sex brown mascara and then i go crazy with a liquid blush ( i put it on my cheeks, eyelids, lips and tip of my nose. People are always shocked when i say im 31 as they thought i was a young mum but its just the makeup 😂

Thank you so much! I love trying new tinted moisturisers especially if they have spf, I just got the oskia but it’s a bit dark for me… the rosalique I find changes but stays a bit grey tinged so I’ll try this one! X

Do the Revlon stylers rotate like the Babilys big hair one

No, which I prefer. The Big Hair tangled my hair with the rotation.

I have a Dyson hairdryer, huge price tag and so, so worth it! Dries in easily half the time of any other dryer, including the expensive ones in the salon, hair dries straighter and shinier too. I don’t know how it works but it most assuredly does.
