What did it cost? Is it being financed? Did you buy one brand new or is it used?

I'll start: I drive a brand new Mercedes-Benz B200.

OP posts:

I'll bite - I drive a 26 year old mazda mx5. I purchased it for just under £4K 1 6years ago.

It's only got 75K on the clock and is in mint condition - apart from a tiny patch of rot on one wheelarch that I need to fix.

I got a loan to buy it - £10 a week for 7 years - interest was really low and I think I paid about 400/400£ in interest in total.

I drive it on classic car insurance with limited miles which costs me the hefty sum of £75 a year.... but the VED is loads - nearly £24 a month I think?

I'm probably a bit of an anomaly though! :)

Renault Arkana, new about two months ago.

Motability. Our third car via this route. We paid £1500 down, and DH's ADP goes to them every month.

mycatsanutter · 26/05/2024 14:26

I have a 10 year old Insignia and a 17 year Peugeot 307 both owned outright. Never had car finance , I will run them both into the ground , scrap them and buy another.

Good question.

Samlewis96 · 26/05/2024 14:28

Peugeot 2008 16 plate. Bought outright. It's a workhorse

The OP wants you to know they drive a brand new Mercedes-Benz B200.

😗

What’s the point of this thread?

So the OP can be smug and show off that they have a new car

19lottie82 · 26/05/2024 14:28

A 2016 Corsa VXR, the chavvy version with a spoiler and bucket seats 😂 possibly a strange choice for a 42 year old woman but I love it.

I purchased it for £5000 cash last December.

WaitingfortheTardis · 26/05/2024 14:29

An old Polo, not on finance. Wouldn't bother with a brand new car as I usually have to park (almost) in the hedge at work.

Do we really care🤣

GeckoFeet · 26/05/2024 14:32

I have a 20 year old lamborghini. I bought it outright.

mycatsanutter · 26/05/2024 14:33

@alittlequinnie wish I had looked after my Mazda and kept it instead of getting the Insignia , it never let me down once , brilliant cars!

OneTC · 26/05/2024 14:33

I ride a bike 😎

bridgetreilly · 26/05/2024 14:36

Corsa. Bought lightly used in March 24 for about £8500. Fully paid off. Currently just under 40k on the clock and I anticipate driving it for another 4-5 years.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/05/2024 14:37

Ummmm it's white.

OldTinHat · 26/05/2024 14:43

A 2009 Aveo. Bought it cash about 3yrs ago. Had 40k on the clock and only has about 42k now 😁

I'd never waste money on a new car. It's pointless imo.

Of course not, but they said they were going to start and then didn't answer their own questions. 🤷🏻‍♀️

AlexandraJJ · 26/05/2024 14:46

X5 2 years old £57k bought cash this year.

TheShellBeach · 26/05/2024 14:46

We used to have a Mercedes.
Does that count?

SnowyPetals · 26/05/2024 14:47

I have a collection of classic cars. If my chauffeur is working, I usually take the Bentley, or the Rolls. If I am driving, then I often plump for the Ferrari but if I'm going into town, what other choice is there but my Tesla? And what is this "finance" of which you speak?

Newheadche · 26/05/2024 14:51

I have Audi q7 , but I can’t see the point of this thread really..

Chely · 26/05/2024 14:54

Never had a car on finance, our Smax was a few years old when we bought it with very low mileage. DH maintains it himself and had it over 9 years, will upgrade for better leg room in 3rd row at some point but again save for it. Had our last car for over 9 years and only got rid because we needed more seats.

SnapdragonToadflax · 26/05/2024 14:54

I have a Focus, it's quite old but runs well so far (touch wood). I bought it outright secondhand a few years ago.

I have no idea what a Mercedes-Benz whatever it was looks like or costs, but I assume I'm meant to be impressed...?
