What did it cost? Is it being financed? Did you buy one brand new or is it used?

I'll start: I drive a brand new Mercedes-Benz B200.

HNRTFT but I am very happy with my 2007 Nissan note . A complete shit tip with various dents I don’t have sensors . I genuinely don’t care about car status,it has been the most reliable car I have ever had . Husband drives a wanky 4x4 Mercedes and the car spends a lot of time at the garage sorting out problems.

MrsMammy · 27/05/2024 00:15

I think it was around 70k but I'm not sure.

A B200 is not a brag, they’re ugly as fuck. It’s the Merc badge catches the eye until people see the rest of it.

What makes you think the op was bragging? To me this is a light hearted topic brought about by the op's general curiosity

beentheretoo · 27/05/2024 00:19

I have a bike I stole

The OP wants you to know they drive a brand new Mercedes-Benz B200.

😗

🤣

FastasF · 27/05/2024 00:32

I have 2 cars
A battered old Nissan Micra for everyday use and super reliable ( cost £1500, bought outright) 58 plate and
A 1987 Ferrari for posh days out ( cost £45k, bought outright)

I don’t like new cars. They’re more like robots on wheels.

Spendysis · 27/05/2024 00:34

Hope you are happy with your car op and enjoy driving it don’t personally like the shape style of b class having spent numerous hours at Mercedes while dh who is in middle life crisis picked a c class coupe i much prefer for a class although that is trendy with the youths apparently or the cla it’s not new but it was paid in cash

I'll bite - I drive a 26 year old mazda mx5. I purchased it for just under £4K 1 6years ago.

It's only got 75K on the clock and is in mint condition - apart from a tiny patch of rot on one wheelarch that I need to fix.

I got a loan to buy it - £10 a week for 7 years - interest was really low and I think I paid about 400/400£ in interest in total.

I drive it on classic car insurance with limited miles which costs me the hefty sum of £75 a year.... but the VED is loads - nearly £24 a month I think?

I'm probably a bit of an anomaly though! :)

Edited

You beat me, I drive a 24 year old Golf GTI, have had it for 23 years and paid £12000 for her. She’s cheep to insure now as I’m in my late fifties, no joy riding 🤣

She has 144,000 miles on the clock, the road tax is expensive at £220 a year. It’s a lovely drive, amazing engine and fun. I wouldn’t sell her now, she’s part of the family 🤗

DaftyLass · 27/05/2024 03:29

A 2015 Ford CMax hybrid, bought second hand, it's amazing and I'll drive it till it dies

CuriousJBJ · 27/05/2024 04:21

8 year old Peugeot Partner, diesel automatic, bought for cash 2 years ago. Never had finance on a car, and never really cared about what I’m driving, so long as it’s reliable, good mpg, cheap enough to insure and run and can handle carrying all manner of crap/dogs/camping stuff etc. Works for me!

I had the opposite of that when I had a black Skoda Octavia as a company car some years ago when the brand was still a bit of a joke to the less enlightened.

I was sitting in a car park having lunch between jobs when I became aware of two blokes shuffling around behind the car.

I locked the doors and prepared to drive off, fearing that I was about to be robbed, when I heard one of them exclaim to the other 'it's a Skoda but it's really nice' Grin.

That was the first of about half a dozen Skodas I've had over the last 20 years, most of them being company cars and all of them being great.

I now have a 5 YO Citigo that I bought with cash 3 years ago and intend to keep until it falls apart, at which time I hope it will have scrappage scheme value for an electric car.

GymBergerac · 27/05/2024 06:23

14 year old Fiat Punto
Bought cash eight years ago
It has to last for another 14 years as I can't replace it
Hope op feels nice and smugly superior now.... 🙄

Bagwyllydiart · 27/05/2024 07:18

2 year old Aerial Atom. Bought outright.

fieldsofbutterflies · 27/05/2024 07:20

Second hand Hyundai i10 that cost me 4k outright. I bought it with an insurance payoff after my last car was totalled by a Royal Mail van.

TheRussiansAreComing · 27/05/2024 07:27

OP must be Sheila Bloom, AKA Bitch-face, from Friday night dinner.

Marellaspirit · 27/05/2024 07:30

I drive a 21 year old Nissan Micra, bought for £3500 in 2008. It's just passed 100k miles on the clock and is an absolute dream to drive. For a small car it has a lot of power and handles well. I could change it for something new but while it's still really reliable I don't see the point.

KimberleyClark · 27/05/2024 07:34

I drive a ten year old Audi A3 TFSI. Bought it used seven years ago and own it outright. Will drive it into the ground probably.

My brother opted for a Skoda estate type as a company car when they were not that popular some years ago. The other blokes he worked with kept laughing as they opted for Audis and BMWs and other more popular brands.

His had all the extras in it, theirs were the bottom end of the brands they had chosen with no refinements at all.

Guess who changed their minds when the next round of company cars came up? 😁

My cousin has a 1 year old Skoda Kodiak and it's lovely, he's really pleased with it.

Bjorkdidit · 27/05/2024 09:52

Yeah, my top spec Octavias cost less than the mid spec Audi A3s that a couple of people had, which were also a bit small for the kit we have to carry around and for those who had teen DC to transport.

I also had a couple of VRS models that I think finally convinced my younger male colleagues especially that I was onto something Grin.

Clevs · 28/05/2024 08:34

@OhFensa I've only had it six weeks but so far so good. I have the seven seater and with the back row of seats folded down (we only use them occasionally) the boot is fairly spacious. I'd probably say yes to the greyhounds if you don't have the back seats up.

To ask what car you drive?
LegArmpits · 28/05/2024 08:39

A DeLorean.
It's a bit of a shit hole and you have to be careful in storms, but the doors are fun.

missmollygreen · 26/05/2024 14:28

So the OP can be smug and show off that they have a new car

Not sure why you’d want to boast about a near bottom of the range Merc with the engine out of a Renault van. Properly shit!

FoleyHuck · 28/05/2024 08:54

A 10 year old Fiesta bought last year for about £8k iirc and paid outright with part-exchange of our previous car. One car family, DH has a moped and a pushbike for his shorter commute.

😂I wouldn’t drive it if it was given to me for free.
