What did it cost? Is it being financed? Did you buy one brand new or is it used?

I'll start: I drive a brand new Mercedes-Benz B200.

OP posts:

Tesla Y.
Bought it through our ltd company so it works out pretty inexpensive but I am not saying how much it cost.

GoofyGoldie · 26/05/2024 15:04

Peugeot 2008e.
It's on motability.
Just over a year old, first time in my 55 years I'd ever had a new car. I call it my cancer perk.
Uses all my PIP mobility money & think down payment was £1500.
I love it.
Before that always had 2nd hand cars on finance.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 26/05/2024 15:12

BMW X2 2019.Part financed.

peakygold · 26/05/2024 15:13

I imagine the OP is very unhappy.

VolvoFan · 26/05/2024 15:21

I have 3.5 year old XC40 Inscription on finance. I love it. The only niggle with it are the tailgate struts; they begin to grind and the tailgate movement becomes gritty as it opens and closes. It's such a common fault that the manufacturer has a goodwill scheme for it to help with the cost, so I got them replaced for a good price. My previous car was a V40 R-Design from run-off stock. It was a sporty number so the fuel economy wasn't great, but it was a spunky little thing and went like shit off a shovel.

pinkwaterbottle9 · 26/05/2024 15:39

Subaru

Arlanymor · 26/05/2024 15:41

Eh? Q3, own it outright but 12/3 years old with 130,000 on the clock. So not living the insta life. I love it though, even though the MOT is due next month and I am highly anticipating a painful bill.

LeopardPrintIsNeutral · 26/05/2024 15:45

2016 Citroen C3
paid 5k cash in January
it’s lovely
can’t be dealing with anything on finance. Gives me huge anxiety living in the countryside and working in a community nursing team.
cheap, reliable, don’t mind if it gets battered
bang on for what I need

plominoagain · 26/05/2024 15:47

Which car do you mean ? My fun car ? My commuting car ? Or the dog’s car ?

PonyPatter44 · 26/05/2024 15:48

@franceslucia what did you pay for your NEW MERC? Is it on finance or did you pay cash?

I drive a 7 year old MX-5. I paid cash.

GrumpyOldCrone · 26/05/2024 15:49

I drive a red automatic Audi. No idea what model. It’s not my car, it’s the one I hire from the local hire company when I need to drive to the other end of the country occasionally. I think it’s about £200 per week.

Jeezitneverends · 26/05/2024 15:51

I go between my Audi A1 and dh’s VW Golf, both owned outright

(I have a personal plate on mine, purely to annoy the MN frothers 🤣)

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 26/05/2024 15:53

I've got a 7 year old Jaguar XF which I got for the bargain price of £15k last year with less than 10,000 miles on the clock. It's lovely and looks far more expensive than it was, which is a win in my opinion!

That is a bloody bargain, well done!

The OP wants you to know they drive a brand new Mercedes-Benz B200.

😗

Yes, not even stealthy.

EatCrow · 26/05/2024 15:57

I have so many vehicles I can’t be arsed to tax them all.

And there was me thinking she was trying to out her neighbour, or maybe I'm a cynic

JaneIves · 26/05/2024 15:58

A Bugatti Veyron.
I paid for it in cash.

Of course I'm joking, I drive a 5 year old Golf. Bought from new on HP. Paid it off last year.

It’s my sister Violet - you know, the one with the Mercedes, swimming pool and room for a pony

BiddyPop · 26/05/2024 15:59

I used to drive a 2013 Audi A3 estate, which I had purchased using savings. DD drives it now, having passed her test at the start of the year. (TBF, she has it at home, and I am in another city for work where public transport works very well so I don't need it).

BiddyPop · 26/05/2024 16:00

I bought it in roughly 2017/18, so it was 2nd hand and it's still going very well so no need to rush changing it!

Not just me then. I have work car, fun summer car and dog/family/sensible but yet pokey car.

Coastalcreeksider · 26/05/2024 16:07

Kia Picanto, 68 plate, bought new, outright. Currently thinking about changing it for another new car but not sure could afford hybrid or electric and to go for different make.

Would also buy outright, not on finance.

LondonQueen · 26/05/2024 17:26

I have two!
My daily (mum) car is a Range Rover Sport, about 3 years old now, I bought it from savings after my previous car was written off.
My weekend/fun car is a Mazda MX-5, it's fantastic and much more fun than the Range Rover. If I didn't have the DC to consider I'd use it every day!

Getonwitit · 26/05/2024 18:45

😂Oh wow, i can't believe you drive a brand new merc, you must be so special, a superstar that everyone looks up to. Does it make you feel so important, superior and richer than others? But i have to say i would be more impressed if you didn't have to buy it on tick. Am i jealous ? No. we have two vehicles, both ancient and paid for. If i felt the need i could pay cash for a merc B200 and not worry about it but i refuse to loose so much money in depreciation and taxes and i really wouldn't want to put feed in it or carry dead pheasants, rabbits etc in it and it is a bit low down for my DH but you enjoy showing it off and paying the finance every month.
