Should I buy a bright pink velvet sofa

I’ve been divorced two years out of a pretty abusive relationship and finally got my own home again. Hooray! I have seen a beautiful bright pink velvet sofa but don’t know if I should buy it! I do want to meet my forever man so is it foolish buying such a girly colour? Maybe I should just go for another bright colour that isn’t pink
Am I massively overthinking this?!

Don't put so much importance on ridiculous sex stereotypes. Pink shouldn't be called 'girly'. Get the sofa, who cares if forever man doesn't like it, maybe he'll be wearing a pink T shirt.

Yes. 🙌 I recently bought the joules patterdale in bright pink and I love it! As does my husband. Go for it.

For goodness sake buy the darn sofa! You love it and have no one else's opinion to consider. A future beau won't be looking at the sofa in the 1st few months and should be eying up who is on the darn thing rather than the soft furnishings anyway..and btw their opinions on the sofa don't count.

I’m so sorry to hear you were through that, I’m so glad you got away. Please don’t overthink this, but the sofa you love, you deserve to treat yourself to something just for you. If one day someone comes along then you can choose a new sofa together, or maybe he will be so perfect for you he will love the pink sofa

Probably not everyone's cup of tea but I can't help but smile every time I look at it.

when I went to university (years ago now) I decided everything on my room would be pink. I had so many people try to put me off but I loved it. Now I’m in my own house with my partner and children and I often miss my cosy pink room!

Come on... Don't do anything for a man! Especially one that doesn't yet exist! Get what you want for YOUR home. If Mr Right comes along he will either the on board with the pink sofa, or if not maybe you will agree to get a different one at some point.

My new gold sofa (we're still refurbishing so the room around it is a mess 😆). It's a self-assembly sofa from Nabru (because we live in a flat and it's very difficult getting furniture upstairs). It's a bold colour (photos don't do it justice) but I think it's very nice. However when I ordered it I sort of forgot that the dog comes back from walks wet and filthy and immediately jumps up on the sofa, which is why we needed a new sofa in the first place, so take a peek before I put the throws back on! Life is too short to be surrounded by greige IMHO 🙂

When I met my husband my lounge/kitchen/dining area was pink, my bathroom was lilac, my bedroom was pink and blue floral flouncy wallpaper. I can assure you he didn’t care….. we’ve been married 30 years!
