To think McDonald's is rubbish now.
Burgers taste different now the buns taste/look different.
Yes I know its general crap fast food, but 10 years ago you would get a cheese quarter ponder and enjoy every minute, then maybe 20 mins later think you wish you hadn't as its full of rubbish.
But now its just awful.

I agree completely. 5 years ago I would often grab a cheeseburger and fries but now when I try the burger it tastes of nothing and the fries are skinnier and rarely salty. Now they have changed the burger and there is onion grilled into the patty which would be fine if the rest of it tasted of something! I'm sure they have reduced the salt and fat or something.

TakeOnFlea · 25/04/2024 23:20

Can't beat a maccies breakfast on fanabe beach 😂 little paper cup of beer as your drink option. Lovely

DrCoconut · 25/04/2024 23:23

They've made the blended ice drinks unsafe for gluten free people now 😭. As if we needed what few options we had reducing. So not very pleased with them. And if you order your burger without bread they still charge the same. Total rip off.

Needmorelego · 25/04/2024 23:23

@Aquarius1234 was it the downstairs Maccyds at Victoria Station (at platform 1 end) or the upstairs one in the little food hall?
Downstairs still does the cook in advance and the stuff sits there for a while, upstairs is the newer style cook to order.
Downstairs one is never as nice.

McDonald's fries are now limp, pale and tasteless.

I don't ever remember them being anything but limp, pale and tasteless....they've been that way for decades.

They just don't seem to cook them for long enough.

Gymnoob · 26/04/2024 01:17

It’s way worse. Major downfall was during Covid. After that menu reduction you couldn’t even pay your way to the slightly better options.

Mangococktail · 26/04/2024 01:21

McDonald's is trash expensive food for the poor.

For the price of one you could something delicious.

I'm not really sure what you want support for? I it's a cheap place filled with drunks that sells shit food? I'm not angry about it. I just ignore it.

Runnerinthenight · 26/04/2024 01:34

McDonalds is now tasteless cardboard basically! Their breakfasts are still ok, but everything else tastes of nothing!

And worse if you get it delivered, because it is also cold!!

user1477391263 · 26/04/2024 01:37

Apparently the bread buns have changed. They use brioche or something because it works better with delivery stuff.

Delivery food culture ruins bloody everything and should be taxed heavily.

SchoolConfusionMum · 26/04/2024 01:38

Also its just so slow now, which kind of defeats the objective of fast food!

I have a regular appointment with DD1 almost opposite a branch, and we would happily grab a quick burger, but it takes them nearly 15 minutes for standard menu items...Far quicker to grab a subway and actually have time to eat.

princesspadam · 26/04/2024 02:05

Omg I still love a Big Mac
Or a Philip the fish
Or a cheeseburger

All perfection IMHO

MalibuBarbieDreamHouse · 26/04/2024 02:07

I don’t think they are the same. The chicken nuggets are so tasteless they might aswell be vegan.
My kids aren’t even that impressed. I remember being so excited to have a McDonald’s as a child, my girls aren’t bothered, I don’t know if it’s bc they toys are just crap now. I adored my McDonald’s toys.

SomethingIn · 26/04/2024 02:09

I disagree too

I had a Big Mac meal the other day with DD and it was delicious

I haven't had one for over a decade at least

greenfluffyrug · 26/04/2024 02:11

Pisses me off that they seem to cook to order now instead of sliding burgers down the little slide things and staff could just grab them and put them straight in the bag.
It takes so long for 'fast food' and I can be stood waiting at the counter for 15-20 minutes when it had to be instant.

greenfluffyrug · 26/04/2024 02:20

See here where the kitchen staff would slide burgers down and they were ready to grab and bag up as soon as orders were made!
You only really had to wait for modified items but they even used to have a few plain burgers ready to go!
You'd pay, and they'd grab a burger, put fries in the box, make your drink and all done within a minute or 2 😂

McDonald's is nothing like it is used to be.
Lovemybunnies · 26/04/2024 02:27

Agree and so does my husband who is a junk food fiend.

BathshebaEverdene1 · 26/04/2024 04:33

It could be that it's you and your palate that have changed, not the burgers ...

Have you Five Guys? It's far superior to McD.

Crabble · 26/04/2024 04:46

another one pissed off by how long it takes to get your food now. I don’t think the taste has changed and I still enjoy one when I’m hungover but I generally can’t be arsed to wait for it.

Peanutbutterfan · 26/04/2024 04:54

I think BK has always been nicer but I can’t believe they’ve stopped selling the spicy bean burger with cheese. McD’s I always get the filet o’ fish & while I enjoy the taste it is always quite flaccid/ plasticky looking. But maybe my tastes have changed. I still think McD’s is great value.

Brie2001 · 26/04/2024 05:28

It was better when they sold root beer.

KeinLiebeslied54321 · 26/04/2024 06:08

We don't live near a McDonalds but we did have a fairly decent one in Inverness (retail park, not centre) last year. We also had a decent Burger King (other retail park). I did notice that both couldn't really be considered 'fast' food these days though. We also tend to go for chicken and not beef options.

FrogsWormsandCaterpillars · 26/04/2024 06:12

Riverlee · 25/04/2024 13:54

We went to the drive through last week for the first time in ages. No queue to order the food, but then had to wait ten minutes for the food to be made. Hardly ‘fast food’. Do like a Mc Flurry though.

My friend was telling me recently that McDonald’s no longer advertise themselves as fast food. I waited 16 minutes for a triple cheeseburger the other day!

WittiestUsernameEver · 26/04/2024 06:16

Kindleonfire · 25/04/2024 23:17

I will not hear a word said against Five Guys or posh maccies as it's called in our house! Although I do resent spending £4.95 on a milkshake

The burgers are greasy there and the chips are too plenty and salty.

Philip the fish 😆
I used to love a filet back in the day, but due to my awful digestive system I can no longer indulge. I only had MCs about once a year
My DD loves a McPlant but I wasn’t keen when I tried it a couple of years ago.
DS hates MCs but goes for kfc.

herewego9 · 26/04/2024 06:33

I used to love McDonald's but had two burgers over the last couple of weeks and noticed a distinct change in taste - I think it's the great, there's a sort of margarine taste off them now.
