To think my friend shouldn't have eaten my burger?

Out for dinner a couple of nights ago.

Me and DP, friend and her BF, and another friend.

All paying for our own food.

I ordered a burger but didn't finish it all, so offered it to DP. He said Yes please, but let me finish mine first.

Immediately after that, friend said 'Oh could I try a bite first?' - she ate about half of what was left, then proceeded to offer it to her DP, and when he said no, our friend.

AIBU to think this was fucking weird? Me and DP were both a bit like, Erm, wtf to say something at the time!

But why didn't your husband say, "Oy, that's mine!"?

I'd find that annoying! It is a bit awkward to have to say no if asked in that situation.

When she said ‘can I have a bite’ you should have said no , at the end of the day the burger was going spare what does it matter who ate it .

You didn't want it, she ate a couple of bites, offered back to your OH who said no. Why shouldn't she finish it? Better than binning it surely, and her finding something else to eat (assuming she was hungry)?

I mean it would be nicer if she had cut off a piece to try - but that doesn't seem what you were worried about?

Why didn't you say no when she asked? She's your friend, it shouldn't be that difficult to say "nope sorry, DP already has dibs! Get in faster next time" and move on.

It is a bit weird. If no one else wanted it then that would be fine but your husband had already said he was going to have it.

I wouldn't mind her trying it, but as your DP had said yes to having it, it was rude of her then to offer it to her DP & the other friend.

was your DP still hungry, could he not afford to order any more food? Unless that was the case I wouldn't be too bothered, but it was rude, yes.
