To think my friend shouldn't have eaten my burger?

Out for dinner a couple of nights ago.

Me and DP, friend and her BF, and another friend.

All paying for our own food.

I ordered a burger but didn't finish it all, so offered it to DP. He said Yes please, but let me finish mine first.

Immediately after that, friend said 'Oh could I try a bite first?' - she ate about half of what was left, then proceeded to offer it to her DP, and when he said no, our friend.

AIBU to think this was fucking weird? Me and DP were both a bit like, Erm, wtf to say something at the time!

😂

Seriously, 1200 Israelis were slaughtered in the Hamas Attack. The Gaza strip is on fire with 33.000 also being slaughtered in retaliation. Iran is declaring war in the middle east. Putin is responsible for tens of thousands slaughtered. And we've never all been closer to being incinerated.

Thank god for people who have weird friends and worry about who ate the burger!

You think she should have sent the burger to Gaza?

Op were you doing that thing where you pretend not to want to eat your food so you can give it to your partner?

is that why your friend made a point of them sharing it, as they all knew you weren’t eating so you could give it to him?

does he expect you to do that?

What thing is this?

NotTerfNorCis · 18/04/2024 21:34

Personally I find the idea of eating someone else's half eaten burger pretty grim.

Bernardo1 · 18/04/2024 21:49

Really, who cares!

RecklessGoddess · 19/04/2024 00:45

I'm shocked anyone has said you're being unreasonable, that's so messed up. I would never dream of doing something like that!

Queenfierce · 19/04/2024 00:55

Don't get why someone would want someone else's left overs unless it's dh food soo weird

By your remaining MN better shut down then.

Jeannie88 · 19/04/2024 22:28

It was a case of sharing really. Yes your dh said yes but no problem with others asking for a bite to taste? She asked, you said OK? X

Jeannie88 · 19/04/2024 22:31

To add, assumed they would be cutting a portion off, you don't bite into someone's burger then pass it on unless family, even then not always. X

Mimimimi1234 · 08/07/2024 07:10

If someone asks to try it and theybare not immediate family then cut a small piece off the uneaten side and put it on their plate. Her eating it stright from where you ate it and passing it around is weird and gross. I would have cut a bit off for her to try and then given the rest to my partner. Not handed half eaten chewed food around the table. Actually youre all weird in this scenario lol
