To think this is a perfectly fine evening meal?

Had porridge at about 7am this morning and have been busy all day. Have just made myself tea (see pic) and my aunt (who is staying with me for a few days) has made me feel really bad about it - apparently it's too much food and a "greedy meal"

Aibu to think it's fine as an evening meal?

It's four new potatoes, boiled and crisped in the pan with a little olive oil (not how I'd usually have them with a salad type tea, but they were still a bit hard!), two slices of cheese, a tablespoon of fat free cottage cheese/coleslaw, two slices of ham, and a bit of salad cream (plus the salad leaves)

Potatoes look yum!! Looks fine to me.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 14/04/2024 17:48

Looks lovely! Your aunt is a rude woman and a bad guest. And also wrong.

Woohoomoo · 14/04/2024 17:49

Your aunt has food issues & should not be policing what you, as an adult, eats. It looks absolutely fine.

Nutsabouttopic · 14/04/2024 17:49

Looks tasty to me and the right amount of food

SeeingRainbowsInTheGloom · 14/04/2024 17:49

Honestly, that looks fine. Your aunt is odd.

Sprogonthetyne · 14/04/2024 17:49

It's slightly more then I'd usually have, but if you missed lunch (I'm guessing as you mentioned breakfast and nothing else), you'd want a big tea. Over the course of the day you've not had much

Createausername1970 · 14/04/2024 17:50

What's wrong with that? It looks fine to me.

I am low carb at the moment and I am drooling over the potato.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 14/04/2024 17:50

If you think it's the right amount of food - it's the right amount of food. It is absolutely nothing to do with your aunt, unless you are going to sit her down and force feed it to her.

redalex261 · 14/04/2024 17:50

Looks fine. Your aunt us a cheeky bugger. TBH if you have only eaten porridge today this may not be enough to keep you going!

YeahComeOnThen · 14/04/2024 17:51

Why is she staying? Can you cut her visit short??

that's a perfectly normal 'tea', Has she reached the 'sparrow portion' stage of life??

EveryoneJapan · 14/04/2024 17:51

And who asked your Aunt for an opinion? Tell her to do one.

Spencer0220 · 14/04/2024 17:51

Looks lovely. Not too much.

FrannieGallops · 14/04/2024 17:51

It’s fine. Makes me a bit nostalgic for a 1980s Sunday evening ‘tea’ (this is exactly what we’d have had as kids after a Sunday lunch).

Wafflefudge · 14/04/2024 17:51

Doesn't seem like very much to me. I'd still be hungry.

graceinspace999 · 14/04/2024 17:52

Looks lovely- what did your aunt have that was so virtuous?

Megapint · 14/04/2024 17:52

That's more than fine. Looks bloody handsome!

LoveSkaMusic · 14/04/2024 17:52

It looks fine to me, if a little odd to have hot potatoes and cold meat!

MuggleMe · 14/04/2024 17:53

That looks like a great tea and not actually enough to make up for missing lunch.

Changingplace · 14/04/2024 17:53

Your aunt is very rude! It’s a perfectly fine tea, and has a really good mix of carbs, veg, protein- and even if it didn’t it’s none of her business what you eat!

Vegetus · 14/04/2024 17:53

I usually have the leftovers of the chicken I cooked 4 weeks ago and a huge salad.

ObliviousCoalmine · 14/04/2024 17:54

I've just had a steak and 1/3 of a tub of gelato. Tell her to bugger off.

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 14/04/2024 17:54

I usually eat 1.5 meals a day and the full meal is a mountain.

Ignore your aunt and her intrusive food issues.

Candleabra · 14/04/2024 17:54

That looks like a lightish lunch to me. It’s mostly salad veg. There’s not too much substance in cottage cheese and a slice of ham. It looks very nice. Your aunt is either tiny, has no appetite or serious food issues (or trying to put you down).

NavyTiger · 14/04/2024 17:54

Looks delicious and fgs pipe down auntie potatoes look beautiful yummy yummy enjoy and make sure you have a pudding 😂

HideTheCroissants · 14/04/2024 17:54

It would be too much for me but my tiny DD would easily eat that for her evening meal. So not greedy for someone with a normal appetite. Love the sound of the potatoes - I may try doing some like this later this week…..
