To think this is a perfectly fine evening meal?

Had porridge at about 7am this morning and have been busy all day. Have just made myself tea (see pic) and my aunt (who is staying with me for a few days) has made me feel really bad about it - apparently it's too much food and a "greedy meal"

Aibu to think it's fine as an evening meal?

It's four new potatoes, boiled and crisped in the pan with a little olive oil (not how I'd usually have them with a salad type tea, but they were still a bit hard!), two slices of cheese, a tablespoon of fat free cottage cheese/coleslaw, two slices of ham, and a bit of salad cream (plus the salad leaves)

How on earth do you eat all that in one sitting? Are you overweight by any chance?

Well I thought it was funny.

grinandslothit · 16/04/2024 17:43

Does your aunt have an undiagnosed eating disorder?

I think your tea looks lovely and just right so ignore your odd Aunt comments

Pippetypoppity · 17/04/2024 09:35

Aunty will inevitably be thin weedy and week then? Push her out the door she’ll have no strength to resist.

BobbyBiscuits · 17/04/2024 09:45

Looks awesome. I love dinners like this. It's literally ham and cheese salad with potatoes. Really balanced meal. Your aunt is really rude. Maybe she's dieting, maybe she has ED? Just ignore her. I bet it was delicious!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/04/2024 09:46

Did the interfering aunt realise that you’d had nothing since breakfast?

In any case, it looks like a perfectly fine meal to me. Is she one of those people who are permanently on some sort of diet/and or have ‘food issues’?

It looks quite a healthy meal to me - much better than ordering in a take away.

Your aunt is a very rude house guest.

It's clearly too much food for the aunt!! For yourself, your own BMI is your best counsellor, not the aunt! The plate itself is mouth-watering -- beautiful!!

It looks like a great meal to me. Where do you live, can I come for tea please?? Hope you enjoyed it. (Think Auntie was probably jealous! I was!)

Ohhh why has this thread been resurrected?!
it made me hungry enough last time. I remember making a similar meal but I have the COVID and don’t have the energy now.

Its a perfectly acceptable meal and I enjoyed it a lot when I made my own version.

LBFseBrom · 08/11/2024 17:23

Looks OK to me.
