Do you shower/bath everyday

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 14/04/2024 07:06

Just that really, do you shower/bath daily as an adult that (not ill or has health conditions)

I am asking this as another thread, made me curious.

YIBU- I don't shower everyday, there is no need.
YANBU- I shower everyday as I like to be clean.

No. My skin is ruined if I shower daily. And waste of water tbh. And time as a mum.
I do wash every day with a cloth.

Wasting time as a mum. 😂😂 Now I’ve heard it all.

Beginningless · 14/04/2024 09:54

Most days but not every day, depends what I’m doing.

lapochette · 14/04/2024 09:55

Yes and I wash my hair every second day. Showering always makes me feel fresh and better in myself. I couldn't imagine going to work etc without having a shower. The only times I haven't showered every day have been due to illness/operations and even then it's only been one, 2, 3 days tops and after having a shower I always feel so much better for it.

Doesn't twice a day dry your skin out? It can't be good for you.
I shower in the morning pre work.

Sunquest · 14/04/2024 09:57

Every hour on the hour. Anything less is just grim/gross/vile/MN word of choice.

Beginningless · 14/04/2024 09:57

Wow I’ve just realised you’re the same poster as the other cleanliness threads. Is this helping you, to pore over everyone you find ‘gross’ and ‘disgusting’ and to seek solidarity for your apparent hyper focus on hygiene? I do get that these threads are an eye opener on how differently people think - but who cares if we do things differently? Really? Why does this matter to you?

Bumblebeeinatree · 14/04/2024 09:59

When did we all become such clean freaks? I assume the ones who complain about the heating bills don't shower twice a day, surely that's unnecessary, after work or before work depending on your preference but both seems more like OCD.

Isometimeswonder · 14/04/2024 10:05

You are coming across as judgy and self-righteous @TheSpoonyNavyReader.
I'm not sure why you're so invested in everyone's bathroom habits.

Eyesopenwideawake · 14/04/2024 09:06

Nope, every 2nd or 3rd day. Far better for both my skin and the planet. Amazingly deodorant works at stopping odours. Who knew?? 😂

It might stop your arm pits smelling but not the rest of you!

Every hour on the hour. Anything less is just grim/gross/vile/MN word of choice.

And if you don’t use a freshly laundered towel every time that’s just unspeakable.

olivebranch31 · 14/04/2024 10:08

Every day and hair every other day. In the summer twice a day because I hate feeling sticky and awful, but my sensitive skin hates me for it 🥲

hookiewookie29 · 14/04/2024 10:08

Every morning.
Menopausal sweats....
Say no more!

RuthW · 14/04/2024 10:10

Yes every morning.

Maybe I sweat a lot in bed because I seem to stink when I get up and a shower is easier and quicker than an all over wash.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 14/04/2024 07:08

I can’t start the day without being fresh from top to bottom, including washing my hair.

Same here.

The other thread made me think, hence why I am asking for a snapshot........

No. My skin gets so dry and sore if I shower every day. That’s every other day, with a wash in between.

My flatmate showers twice a day. It annoys me, and sends our gas bill sky high. How dirty can you get in less than 12 hours in bed?!

Sorry but you are the grim one. You go out the entire day and bring all that yuck with you. And surely it's refreshing to start the day with a good clean. The thing I find most disgusting are the people who wash their 'bits' at the basin. You wash your but and private's at the basin where everyone brushes their teeth 🤢. Why not have a 2min shower and just do it properly.

Thepeopleversuswork · 14/04/2024 10:15

Yep, sometimes twice. I prefer a bath if I have time but will always shower if I can't bathe. I have been ticked off by environmental types for this but it's a red line for me. I can't function or feel comfortable if I feel dirty.

Has time to reply on MN about not having time to shower because of taking away precious mum time.

You couldn’t make it up.

Allthegoodusernamesareused · 14/04/2024 10:17

Shower every day - but only an 'everything' shower 2 or 3 times a week, so most days it literally takes 2 minutes.
I lower the shower head and use a clean hair wrap to keep my hair dry and steam free, I find it better than a shower cap.

I know, how must her poor kids feel with that one post, heartbroken as it took time away from being their Mum.

Every day, ideally. I only wash my hair a couple of times a week though and I never really use shampoo.

KimberleyClark · 14/04/2024 10:19

I remember somebody on one of these threads claiming that roll on/stick deodorants are gross. Because they touch your armpit. You know that clean armpit that you have just washed, The horror, the horror!

lovemycbf · 14/04/2024 10:20

I shower every day regardless even if unwell,I'd feel so gross not showering.
I work in a public facing job and all those saying they don't smell if they don't shower every day are wrong,I can definitely smell those that haven't (keen sense of smell unfortunately) especially unwashed dirty hair
