Do any of you go out without a bra?

I'd definitely feel more comfortable physically without it, but I know people would stare and some, for sure, would see me inappropriately. That would make me even more uncomfortable than wearing a bra. Most days I wear a bra though, when it comes to the evening it comes off, and it's the best feeling in the world! Has anyone else found a way to feel comfortable and supported without a bra, or am I stuck choosing between comfort and what people think?

I feel "undressed" without one even though I don't actually need to wear one.
I don't find them uncomfortable either.

dementedpixie · 13/04/2024 15:02

My boobs would be down at my knees if I didn't wear a bra. Plus I'd get horrible under boob sweat. I'm 36GG and my bras feel comfortable on

FruitFlyPie · 13/04/2024 15:03

I say don't wear one if you don't want to. For myself, I find it much more comfortable and even wear one to sleep.

GreyBlackLove · 13/04/2024 15:03

I always wear one, and wouldn't feel comfortable without any support but have friends who go without and just pop on nipple pasties so they don't feel "bare". Might be an option for you?

Overtheatlantic · 13/04/2024 15:03

I don’t wear a bra unless I’m visiting family who are likely to hug me. 😆

shearwater2 · 13/04/2024 15:04

I feel more comfortable wearing one. Sometimes I wear a soft bra with no underwire or a crop top sports bra, but my usual wired bras are pretty comfy.

MagpiePi · 13/04/2024 15:05

I don't wear proper underwired type bras anymore. If I am at home I don't wear anything. If I am going out and expecting to have to take my coat off I wear either a sports bra or crop type bra.

HuminaHuminaHumina · 13/04/2024 15:05

Yep. I’m very flat chested. I do wear a crop top type when in work though, just in case of any gaping.

MyDentistIsCalledCrentist · 13/04/2024 15:07

I'd love to not have to wear one outside, but I have to. I'm an E cup and they'd wobble around too much for comfort. Not to mention that I wouldn't want people gawping at my wobbly knockers as I was going about my business.

I also love taking the bastard off when I get home. Sometimes I feel physically sick from the pressure of the band on my stomach.

DanielRicciardosSmile · 13/04/2024 15:08

No. At 49 and with a 38KK pair I don't think anyone needs to see me flopping about! I'm super jealous of those with perky enough boobs to be able to go bra-less though.

FlowersInAFlowerBed · 13/04/2024 15:09

No

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 13/04/2024 15:09

That’s how I feel too! The relief when I take it off!

I do go out without. Have always got a baggy top/ cardi /jumper on.

Don’t wear anything at home.

beAsensible1 · 13/04/2024 15:10

Yes. Often.
or I wear the underwire free triangle bras from primark. They’re to comfy, I hate feeling hamstrung

Disturbia81 · 13/04/2024 15:10

Mine hurt without a bra and would be heavy (not even that big)
Go for it if you want to, we should be able to! Just get ready for the perverts

existentialpain · 13/04/2024 15:10

Yes I sometimes do. I'm a B cup and can get away with it. I like the freedom of not having the straps on.

missshilling · 13/04/2024 15:12

I don’t always wear one, even to work. Probably 50/50. It depends how I feel and what else I am wearing. I don’t like the straps to show.

Nobody has ever commented when I don’t.

Ginandjuice57884 · 13/04/2024 15:12

I've worn bralettes for years. I find them way more comfortable.

needsomewarmsunshine · 13/04/2024 15:12

I don't feel comfortable with everything flopping about tbh, but I've got some so comfy bras from M&S, don't even know I'm wearing them.

Myfluffyblanket · 13/04/2024 15:14

I have recently become allergic to my underwear ; I guess it may be the latex/elastane/lycra , so I am having to go without . I hate feeling unsupported but my skin is so itchy and in tatters .

Sharkysharky · 13/04/2024 15:14

I'm DD cup and it would feel uncomfortable without one. It's almost like a security blanket. I feel lots better with one on. The bra takes the heaviness/pulling feeling away.

Flopsythebunny · 13/04/2024 15:15

I'm a f cup and rarely wear a bra due to the position of scars from breast cancer surgery.
Quite frankly, I couldn't give a toss what other people think

Bumblebots · 13/04/2024 15:15

I would love to but I have a large chest and even though I shouldn’t care I’d feel very self conscious as they would be flapping around everywhere. Hate wearing a bra, taking it off is the first thing I do when I get home.

if I had a smaller chest I absolutely would go braless!

honeylulu · 13/04/2024 15:16

Bras should add structure and support, so you should be more comfortable with it on than off. If your bra is uncomfortable you need a different style/brand/size.

Personally I'm much more comfortable without the twins wibbling all over the shop.

Having said that it's up to you - what other people think should be irrelevant.

bradpittsbathwater · 13/04/2024 15:16

I don't wear one at home usually but always when out. My boobs are fairly large and I don't want my nips poking out for all my friends and colleagues to see.

fieldsofbutterflies · 13/04/2024 15:18

No, I find it really uncomfortable to walk around without a bra. It hurts.
