Did you go to school with someone famous?

I mean someone who was famous back then, not someone who became famous more recently. Child stars, athletes, children of celebrities...

How did they act? Do you think the fame affected them?

Not as such, but any 70's babies might remember a group called Flintlock. Mike Holloway was the really cute one in the band and he was also in The Tomorrow People. Him and his band mates went to my high school but when I was in primary his sister was my best friend. I remember seeing him outside school when he picked her up and almost wet myself with excitement! I was only about 7.

Martyn Moxon the cricketer was in the same year but another class at secondary.

Not exactly famous but the class bully in our class at primary was shot dead by the IRA and a girl's in jail for life now for murder.

I was in the same class at school with Alice eve. She is now relatively famous in her own right but at the time her parents were the famous ones. Her dad is Trevor eve and mum Sharon Maughan (Holby and the maxwell house adverts). They came to judge our drama competitions

Was also at school with Chris akabusi's daughter. He came to watch our drama production. You could certainly hear him in the audience.

Actually it’s so strange reading this as when I moved to Aus, I made a friend and we shared lots about our lives. She told me she went to school with Margot Robbie, who I didn’t know anything about. She showed me class photos of them and pics from when they used to go to each others houses as kids. Same kindergarten class and through the majority of their school, they were very close and usually in the same classes. My friend is 39. Margot is ‘33’. I always found that so strange 🤪

I went to uni with Peter Phillips. I would see him around, but didn't know him at all. A friend of a friend did, and got a lift back to Londfon with him once.

Lisa Vanderpump's children, Pandora and Max, though they weren't 'famous' back then, just incredibly rich. The kids were pretty normal. Lisa and Ken were very flashy.

Mark Lester's children, at least one of whom was also Michael Jackson's goddaughter. Afaik, they spent a fair amount of time at Neverland with him. They were also fairly normal. 🤷

Someone joined my sixth form after he finished acting in a sitcom. I didn’t know him particularly well, but I do remember a party he went to making the tabloids due to drink and possibly drugs. It wasn’t a particularly wild party (although I wasn’t there) and it has just occurred to me that it must have been someone from my class who told the tabloids and sold the photos…

Yes, I knew them missingmoominmama. They were just boys at school back then. They practiced in the music room some lunchtimes.

I went to school with someone who was in a band when they were at school, and appeared in Smash Hits! Envy of the school! They're now a radio presenter.

My nephew went to school with a very well known Professional Footballer who was playing for the youth teams back then and has played for England for years.

I saw a documentary she did about her life where she was stood outside the school saying how lucky she was to go there etc.

Primary school. The children of a band member whose band was regularly in the top 10 at the time. They were.just like any other children, really; the only things I remember were that the teachers would make encouraging comments in class about the progress of the current hit and their mum always looked very glamorous! This was the 80s - I imagine it would be very different now in the age of social media and the children's existence would be nowhere near as low-key. The children left state school and went to private school at secondary age.

A Male model famous for his age gap relationship with Simon Cowell's ex (not sure if she is a singer or model). Was held back a year at school so was a few years older yet is portrayed as being 5 years younger now.... I don't get it as the media made such a fuss over the age gap when in reality there isnt one

I went to a drama group on Thursday evenings, with someone who was in Return of the Jedi and Harry Potter!

I went to school with a semi-famous scottish teen singer- at the time, he's unknown now and noone seems to remember him but he definitely had a wee burst of fame in the late 90's/early 2000's.
He seemed nice enough, he was friends with my friends brother and he said he was a lovely boy. He got a lot of attention, and there was a rumour he was allowed a mobile phone when noone else was but I doubt it haha.
