Princess Kate?

Internet is going nuts about it, the theories are insane.

Hope she’s ok

If it's something this bad and it caused the massive weight loss we have all witnessed it's a big eye roll to all the people saying how great she looked. How slim and elegant. Oh she must be so disciplined. Why can't all women be like her. Oh she's going to be such a beautiful Queen blah blah

She was likely really sick

Sleeptastic · 29/02/2024 16:56

@User7825525 The original statement regarding her surgery never stated she would disappear entirely for 4 months. They gave the timeline and a followup piece about her working from home during the recovery period. That was perfectly setting things up for a statement, video call screenshot or maybe even picture of her during the time between her hospital discharge and resuming engagements. This was essentially what people were expecting at this stage. Some kind of statement or photo from her personally.

This is nonsense. I'm looking at their twitter feed they never even hinted that she would be working from home. They said "unlikely to return to royal duties until after Easter". The only follow up about her was that she was back home and thanked the staff at the hospital and well wishers. Nothing else was said. You are making stuff up.

ImNotAGoodGirlImABadWoman · 29/02/2024 16:58

So Tom Bower has said that she is likely to be off for longer than anticipated so don't hold your breath for her coming back beaming at Easter. He says she is seriously ill and her recovery is taking longer than expected. Poor Kate.

Geebray · 29/02/2024 17:00

Please do find us that statement about her WFH, @User7825525 . The rest of us must have missed it?

This was the article, albeit hard to tell what the source is. DM did their quotation mark thing to make it appear more official: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-12987253/kate-surgery-work-commitment-palace-insider-william-church-england.html

Kate 'will work from bed as she recovers from surgery', insiders say

It is expected that the Princess of Wales will resume working from bed as soon as she is discharged from hospital, where she underwent abdominal surgery earlier this week.

The Internet is going nuts wondering where a woman is? A woman that had a statement released saying she would be out of the public eye until Easter?

The whole Internet? Come op @Amillionmenwenttomowameadow what does it make you think?

SpongeBobSquarePantaloons · 29/02/2024 17:05

Could've sworn I saw her doing backflips in Green Park an hour ago. Must've been someone else.

Hmm

But she did disappear for a few days then die, to be fair. They weren’t wrong 🤣

Not really. She appeared in public on the 6th september. Then died on the 8th. There was only one full day in-between.

TheBayLady · 29/02/2024 17:13

If you mean Catherine The Princess of Wales, then she is at home recuperating.

NotestoSelf · 29/02/2024 17:14

So, she's secretly dead, according to Twitter? 😀

Would someone oblige me by relaying a few more of the dafter theories, as I can't face Twitter?

Is she in space on a secret mission? Fell into a timeslip? Rebelled against being a smily blowdry in a nice coatdress and got a facial tattoo, and has to be hidden while they laser it off asap? Was savaged by some of the remaining corgis (who got the corgis when the queen died?)? Is in a secret dry-out location drying out from a well-hidden drug habit?

No she didn’t. She was photographed on the Tuesday meeting Liz Truss, looking frail but definitely alive - up, dressed and smiling. We first got rumblings something was very wrong on the Thursday morning and she died that afternoon.

pickledandpuzzled · 29/02/2024 17:28

Ah, ok. It didn’t seem that fast at the time.

Getabetterhobby · 29/02/2024 17:30

It is weird, despite so many thinking it isn't. It doesn't align with how they would normally do things, like Charles is making statements, which are quotes from him and not 'he's doing the same' ;he's recovering' type comments, he's actually been seen and heard from. You would expect there to be public statements direct from her at the moment, that is how they do things, its good PR and Kate is normally really good at sending messages of thanks and their social media would normally post something on her birthday, something about Charles' illness etc Nothing about how they're doing this is in keeping with normal protocol. For Andrew to fill the hole Will left the other day is not a good look.

Allfur · 29/02/2024 17:30

But there have been multiple comments that his openness is unusual for the royal family, although it has been welcomed.

Also, Kate is not the monarch and never will be.

Abouttimeforanamechange · 29/02/2024 17:35

who got the corgis when the queen died?

Andrew and Fergie.

The Queen wasn't going to have any more dogs after her last one died, as she feared they would outlive her, but the Yorks gave them to her around the time of Philip's last illness and death, and said they would take them on if necessary.

Missmarplesknittingbuddy · 29/02/2024 17:36

User7825525 · 29/02/2024 16:18

It's atrocious PR to say the least. PR is about reading the room and putting out something once you feel the public sentiment is tilting too far in one direction. It's not telling the public to STFU and then proceed to ignore them. Kate's disappearance is now headline news in many European papers...the biggest daily ones and not tabloids. They might be doing it for a few more clicks but those publications are far from nutters and conspiracy theorists.

Kate used to be a master at this. Even that immense tragedy where the nurse killed herself, pregnant Kate still gave the press a photo op in front of hospital. The original statement regarding her surgery never stated she would disappear entirely for 4 months.

Kate is not a person to hide at the first sign of physical discomfort. She was clearly seriously ill at some point (the weight loss is obvious during photos of her engagements between Summer 2023 and Xmas 2023). However she put on a brilliant performance to hide whatever pain and problems she had. So it's entirely out of character for her to insist on recovering out of sight so many months after surgery. Even though everyone's timeline is different, 2 whole months is a reasonable time frame for her to release something IF she really wanted to.

So whatever is going on is probably a much bigger shitshow than the palace anticipated. She is either still physically too unwell or (I think more likely) re-evaluating her life and what she wants going forward. Maybe she enjoyed the time off with her children entirely undisturbed and wants to get off the hamster wheel. Maybe William is difficult behind closed doors and that combined with her recovery has made her see everything in a different light. Maybe she no longer believes the monarchy will be around by the time George is ready to ascend the throne so she's basically putting her children through an awful life in a goldfish bowl for nothing at all. She can see Pippa and Meghan's children growing up in relative privacy but with all the same material comforts.

The only thing you gave explained in your post is why my local Sainsbury ran out of tin foil this week .

She is our next Queen. More importantly, 3 months off work is a long time. So I think given their position, they do need to update and be more open rather than just think we will be happy to pay huge sums for a family who can take months and months off work with little explanation- and also it seems are not missed at work and nobody taking over for them? Seems like they might be unnecessary altogether.

So now we know that is just speculation/fiction.

The problem is not that an ill woman is taking 3 months to recover from surgery, which is not unusual and would probably be the case were she in any "normal" job.

The problem is that there is a royal family and hereditary monarchy in the first place.

PowerhouseOfTheCell · 29/02/2024 17:42

BBL! (yes I read it on twitter and laughed so I'm sticking to it)

DappledThings · 29/02/2024 17:45

Is OP coming back to explain what thales "other things" that are apparently making people think?

She's had surgery. As was announced. The conspiracies are wild.
