Princess Kate?

Internet is going nuts about it, the theories are insane.

Hope she’s ok

OP, come along, dear. Put this nice tin foil hat on and have a nice lie down under the stairs.

I think it is very likely she is in a coma.

Yes because hospitals often allow patients to go home if they're in a coma🤔

DappledThings · 01/03/2024 10:01

If she simply reappears I would imagine public support will drain in a flash, it’s not boundaries that will have happened here but contempt and entitlement.
I think you're really overestimating how much most people care. Obviously it means a lot to you. For most of us it's meaningless.

TheBayLady · 01/03/2024 10:08

I can't believe the crap spouted on SM about this woman's health. FFS she has had major surgery, is now recovering. What the hell do people want ? a daily photo, tiktok videos ? Christ, talk about vultures. Those spouting total shite need to give themselves a kick in the arse. How vile that you expect a woman recovering from major surgery to come out and wave to you all. Sick sick people.

She hasn’t been seen since Christmas Day.

Genuine question - is there anything strange in that? Is she usually seen between Christmas and mid Jan?

It’s the beginning of March. Where have you been?

I think she's very strongly advocating for herself and refusing to give up something so personal to the masses.

I agree, she's always struck me as a strong woman who knows how to play her part in the royal family.

On personal and family matters, especially regarding her children she is in control. She takes photos of her children herself and releases these to the press. Good for her I say.

DappledThings · 01/03/2024 10:27

KimberleyClark · 01/03/2024 10:24

The point being we know where she's been since mid-Jan and now; she's recuperating after surgery. A PP said she's not been seen since Christmas, implying there's something sinister about her not being seen between then and her surgery.

The other PP was questioning if that really is unusual. I suspect it isn't.

SecondUsername4me · 01/03/2024 10:33

KP and PoW can't do right for doing wrong.

Parade her on the steps post birth "poor love, they should have let her hole up in Nott Cott with her baps out for 2 weeks, can't believe she's been made to do The Steps"

Announce she will be out of sight for 3 months - fine, respect her privacy, we would want the same etc.

Half way through that 3 months everyone's baying for blood. Ig she releases a statement now, there'll be a whole raft of "see, it wasn't that hard, lazy cow" vs "KP caved to public pressure when they should have stuck to their guns"

If she doesn't release anything til she returns there'll be half hate and half "she's doing exactly what they said she would"

Nevermind that every photo from mid Easter onwards everyone will be scrutinising how she looks to try and guess what was wrong.

Poor woman.

2dogsandabudgie · 01/03/2024 10:35

Newchapterbeckons · 01/03/2024 09:49

I think one statement from her would shut down all of this speculation immediately and offer them total privacy, and yet it apparently isn’t possible.

You honestly think so? I'm hoping that you're just on the wind up and don't actually think like this in real life.

Laiste · 01/03/2024 10:44

But - 'A Thank You Statement From Catherine' will prove nothing.

It'll either be from her and she's ok, or a lie and she's not ok. Hooked up to machines and not thinking about thanking anyone.

What do you want?!

Why on earth would a random thank you from what might or might not be the ill person satisfy anyone?

Releasing nothing 'from her' does give the impression she's too poorly to do it and they've decided not to bullshit us by releasing a fake and cheerful message from Catherine.

At the same time they understandably don't want to release details of the status of her health. Which virtually everyone here has said is reasonable.

The result = a statement saying basically 'She's expected to be better by Easter, now please just be patient'.

ColleenDonaghy · 01/03/2024 10:46

KimberleyClark · 01/03/2024 10:24

It’s the beginning of March. Where have you been?

We have been told where she is from 17 January - in hospital and then recovering at home. I suspect it's not unusual at all for her not to be visible between Christmas and mid Jan, so I was asking in case you knew that she usually has a load of engagements in early Jan once the kids are back at school.

Even if she is usually visible in January, it's not too crazy to think that she may have been feeling unwell this year.

underthebun · 01/03/2024 11:13

We know nothing about her, I think you have to be crazy to marry into that & raise dc in it!

I think it's quite admirable that we know nothing about her though. She's been in a long time now and we know next to nothing about her as a person, she's done a very good job of guarding her privacy while being one of the most visible women in the world.

underthebun · 01/03/2024 11:16

Perhaps the difference between William and Harry isn’t much - at all - just different ways of dealing with it, both expecting jet set lives for doing nowt. A world away from the Queen and Prince Philip that is for sure

Is this a shock to you?

If she simply reappears I would imagine public support will drain in a flash, it’s not boundaries that will have happened here but contempt and entitlement.

Why does public support hinge on a thanks message though? I don’t get it.

They are setting boundaries about not bending to peoples will. Kate may need more surgery in the future. William will be King much younger than Charles so they are dictating what it is going to look like.

The word boundaries is overused as psychobabble. You can only set boundaries with single individuals whose pattern of behaviour is specific and predictable. Custody arrangements with an abusive, narcisstic ex-partner requires boundaries. Dealing with a NC parent requires boundaries. Kate‘s total disappearance for 4 months is entirely a public relations fiasco, and has nothing to do with boundaries.

It‘s impossible to set boundaries with the public which is an amorphous mass of millions of people. These range from ardent supporters to crazy haters of the RF. Most fall somewhere in between and have wholly different and valid opinions about whatever goes on in the RF. So the only thing they can do is appease the public the best way possible during extenuating circumstances. Getting sympathy and likes is a bonus if done right but in this case it‘s nearing impossible because of the lack of info.

underthebun · 01/03/2024 11:17

I think in this day & age it’s not very progressive to have such a visible women known largely for “never putting a foot wrong”. How depressing is that? What does putting a foot wrong even look like? 😆

underthebun · 01/03/2024 11:20

I don’t follow the Royals much but doesn’t Kate often disappear?

The word boundaries is overused as psychobabble.

You can disagree but I think that’s what they are doing to the press & the public.

Well I didn't say she's never put a foot wrong, although I know it's often said of her.

Her job isn't a progressive one, quite the opposite. It's not one I'd want or that I'd want for my daughters, or even one that should exist at all, but I think she decided how to handle the public interest from the time of her engagement and she's stuck with that. I do think that is admirable, even though I don't think the job is.

underthebun · 01/03/2024 11:26

I did mean generally.

Her job isn't a progressive one, quite the opposite. It's not one I'd want or that I'd want for my daughters, or even one that should exist at all

Exactly & I think one large reason for the “absence” is she when she does appear she has to look like nothing happened. It’s stupid tbh & so outdated.

Porkfest · 01/03/2024 11:44

Newchapterbeckons · 01/03/2024 09:42

Can you think of a single reason why a thank you statement from Kate hasn’t been released to her well wishers?

Has PW not done this verbally a few times already?

drumbeats · 01/03/2024 11:53

Or, there's literally nothing to know. She is pretty bland. Likes exercise. Is introverted so sticks to routine and predictable comments. Won't rock any boats.

Possibly perfect for the role a century ago. Sadly a wasted opportunity for today where a dynamic woman with a purpose and voice would be so valuable.

Same. I'm picturing William staggering out with her and putting her across the back seat with the staff waving and wishing them well ...

Poor bloody Kate. I hope she's getting better and i really hope she's ok by Easter. I'm not a royalist - i think it's time they faded away into wealthy obscurity - but i've no problem with her as an individual. The job is there and i think she does the job as well as it's possible to do it without causing ruckus. She's the only royal i'd cross the road to see.

Me too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This thread is getting more bizarre and ridiculous by the minute. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I really can't believe how stupid some people are with the drivel they are prepared to believe.

The Princess of Wales had some undisclosed type of major surgery in mid January and is now recovering in privacy at home. That's really all there is to it.
