I think you are right, I remember this article (daily Mail I’m afraid) about Kate and Wills clashing over George’s schooling so maybe she has just thought after her recent health concerns, ‘that’s it I’m out’ and is in the midst of doing a Katie Holmes and taking full custody of the kids.

DH mentioned this the other day. Why are people interested? She's had surgery and is recovering at home.

They absolutely do not owe us any medical information, but it’s very unusual for Kate not to thank well wishers, very unusual for William to pull out of reading at a memorial and very unusual that Kate hasn’t spoken in her own words for coming up for two months. This should be explained to the public but no, they are allowing reports of a coma to be printed and to stand without as much as a legsl warning and rumour and speculation to grow and grow. At best it’s being handled very badly.

But the kind of people who speculate with these wild theories are the kind who will take any official announcement as clearly just another cover-up and extrapolate from it only a wilder theory.

Essentially using radio silence to say "we said Easter yeah? And it's not Easter yet you nutcases" seems like an imminently sensible strategy to me.

I think she had routine surgery under the radar just after Christmas. That has gone horribly wrong and she is seriously ill.
I have always thought this was the most likely scenario.

There is no way in the world she would have omitted to thank her well wishers.

Nor would she seek to create all of this rumour and worry if she were able to update, she is a kind and thoughtful person that does not seek the spotlight. I imagine this is the last thing she would want. It’s being very badly handled by either William or his advisers. I don’t think she is able to advocate for herself at the moment.

Some posters are saying she is in a coma though..surely all speculation is wrong. Why people I think a royal would have the same recovery period & plan as the rest of us is beyond me.

Her parents could step out and thank well wishers and say she is doing really well, that would be more than enough to dampen the swell of speculation. Their absence is striking. Not a single person from the Royal family have confirmed Kate is healthy and recovering all of have been unnamed ‘sources’ saying she is doing well. Doing well can mean anything. Doing well could simply means she is still alive.

It is obvious to me that this is a crisis. I don’t buy the fact she is sitting at home indifferent to the unease and worry for her. I just don’t believe it.

The amount of obsession on here alone about the precise wording of statements already made and the exact timings of William's public appearances does not suggest to me that anything would "dampen the swell.of speculation". More likely if the Middletons senior did appear it would set off another thousand wild theories about what protocol has been breached and why that secretly means she is more ill than they are claiming and they are preparing for her to return home and start divorce proceedings etc etc.

Where is She? Answer - probably resting at home. I'm not in favour of royals being over secretive. But I think her health problems and surgery are her business and she isn't obliged to say anything.
