Princess Kate?

Internet is going nuts about it, the theories are insane.

Hope she’s ok

I hate to say it but the theory I believe is that all the royals are faking illnesses and death, so that they can hide away or escape when world war 3 arrives in the UK.

Twonewcats · 01/03/2024 01:27

I'm definitely curious about the media blackout. It's very unusual for them to hardly be mentioning her. The update statement today was barely an article, not even in the DM - it was tucked away somewhere.
The PR has been appalling. BP has done much better re Charles, but KP aren't doing much apart from firefighting.
It is interesting to me that they arent saying that she thanks people for their well wishes etc.

Interesting theory!
Weren't they historically a partially German dynasty until WW1 heated up, then changed their House from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor. So they definitely have form for a bit of protective smoke and mirrors.

HellonHeels · 01/03/2024 01:49

Off her tits on drugs?

My money's on waiting until her abdomen settles back into its usual super-flat state, otherwise there will be a torrent of intrusive commentary about how she's let herself go or some bullshit like that.

@ColleenDonaghy People are saying they’ve not been seen since Christmas and her parents too

So you think that Kate, her children and her parents have all been sneakily bumped off on the quiet? Never to be seen again?

What utter drivel!! She's recovering, her children have been going to school (where she general agreed code of conduct is that they are not followed by the press). It really is no more mysterious than that.

It really is pointless arguing with stupid.

Whoever hose people are they are they are clearly a bit thick, you are allowed to ignore atupidity

marmaduke12 · 01/03/2024 03:11

Not super interested and wish her the best, but it does strike me as odd that they can't even manage one nice photo. Her reading a story to the kids whilst she's in bed, waving through a car window, sat on a bench in the sun. I don't know, and I know it's not fair but she will be the next queen and I think just utterly disappearing is a bit , well , unusual.

tkwal · 01/03/2024 03:31

ExactlySo · 29/02/2024 20:19

I think that is ridiculous.
They have always said that 3 children were the limit.
And the suggestions you make do not mean a 4-month recovery and 2 weeks in hospital.

AND the surgery was 'planned' - which boots your idea out of the water.

An urgent surgery can be planned less than a day in advance.
When did they "always" say that ?

I also believe the more outrageous stories are the press trying to provoke a response from the royals PR team

SurvivalKits · 01/03/2024 03:56

It sounds like Catherine's pissed off with the whole shebang and who could blame her.

Primrosecottagelover · 01/03/2024 05:38

I don’t see Kate coming back work as anything more than occasional appearances. They’re all sick of it and you can tell. William’s just been muzzled and is doing Synagogue 🕍 “time” for voicing an opinion. Charles probably wants to garden & have dinner parties in his final months. The royals are going to do the bare minimum and wait to be faded out by government and broker a deal. Nobody will abdicate because that’s like handing money to other relatives. This will be a soft, strategic and gradual abolition of the monarchy. That’s what my money is on.

Primrosecottagelover · 01/03/2024 05:41

* or final chapter for Charles, I should say.

* Kate is unwell and recovering and it’s not about what she owes in terms of privacy, it’s that they’ve made no effort to smooth it over or really give adequate updates of how she’s going and the kids are in lieu of medical details. There’s an arrogance to mysterious and bad PR & ignoring the masses being perplexed and both of them taking time off work. They don’t really care that their PR is shoddy or what people think, William isn’t exactly making amends and standing strong, they don’t really care anymore.

endofagain · 01/03/2024 05:41

I had planned urgent surgery. It was planned at my initial consultation with the surgeon and took place 6 hours later. It took me 6 weeks to recover enough to leave my flat, during which time I would have been very distressed if anyone had wanted to take my photograph or wanted me to appear in public or on media of any sort. I looked a complete mess, was in pain and was on a lot of medication. It is almost a year since my op and I am just starting to feel fully recovered.
I am not the least bit interested in the PoW, other than to hope she makes a full recovery, in private.

Same here but everyone is concerned as it’s quite serious and the level of mystery and confusion, with Prince William giving up so much, only adds more concern.

It feels like only yesterday that the precious Princess of Wales died and everyone is rightly concerned.

DontLeanOnTheKeyboard · 01/03/2024 05:46

I’m due to have major, open abdominal surgery and have been told it is 2 weeks off sick. What on earth was it to warrant a couple of months? Not like she’s doing anything terribly manual anyway?

Newchapterbeckons · 01/03/2024 05:55

Either:

William either GENUINELY needs 3 months off because his wife is so seriously ill and couid possibly die, and he needs to by her side. Understandable. Not available to most but understandable.

OR

Discipline has entirely broken down in the royal household after the Queen’s passing, and they are both exploiting a run of the mill operation. If she IS at home, as you say, flicking through magazines why the hell hasn’t William returned to work, as he should. His diary is still empty ( just checked)

Why not release a one line word of thanks from Kate and stop the ‘vultures’?

If you are republican you are likely to think they are work shy and lazy, if you are a royalist, like me, it’s unthinkable he would pull out of such an important memorial with less than an hour to go, it must be life and death.

Either way the continued radio silence is fast eroding public support, what purpose is it serving? We will find out eventually.
And depending on the answer the public will make up their mind if they still wish to pay for this institution now the Queen has gone.

For sure we won’t be bankrolling a work shy family that treat the public with unconcealed contempt, especially as people are dying in hospital corridors and on bridges as there are no resources. £90 million would go a long every year. Children are hungry and cold this winter. It’s going to be very interesting.

As I say I hope she pulls through.

She has the pressure of having to look her best though

Major abdominal surgery isn't just one operation though is it, how did you find out that your operation is the same as the one Kate ja

underthebun · 01/03/2024 06:10

Exactly, her recovery will be completely different to a lay person. First she will actually get over the op & then it will be an exercise or physio regime. Most people don’t have the luxury of prioritising like that because work/life but the Royals are not normal people.

underthebun · 01/03/2024 06:13

If you are republican you are likely to think they are work shy and lazy,

Engagement wise I think they have it pretty easy. They don’t have my respect like the Queen did.

Whowhatwherewhenwhy1 · 01/03/2024 06:22

The only thing that has surprised me is that there has been no “Catherine would like to thank her well wishers for the many cards and good wishes” type press release. I found that a little odd.
Her parents are most likely helping out the family but I doubt if it were anything awful that Pippa would be swanning around a beach in what appears to gazillions of different bikinis!

Whowhatwherewhenwhy1 · 01/03/2024 06:24

Also depending on the nature of the surgery say it were an ectopic pregnancy leading to hysterectomy she may well need the time to recuperate physically and emotionallly.

underthebun · 01/03/2024 06:24

I'm definitely curious about the media blackout. It's very unusual for them to hardly be mentioning her.

Theres often little mention of them eg summer. We see photos of them getting an Easyjet flight but not the private place to other holidays, the nanny is out of shot etc. It’s not a new thing

thefallen · 01/03/2024 06:32

She's had a minor procedure and is using it as an excuse to sit around doing fuck all, having designer clothes brought to her to spend our money on and doing a bit of exercise. Same as usual.

banananas1999 · 01/03/2024 06:33

Isnt it a royal protocol a royal being photographed entering the hospital but also leaving the hospital- there are pictures of Charles, when the queen had hospital visits etc, when babies have been born etc- and none of catherine?

what kind of surgery takes 6 weeks to recover from, anyone who has been in the nhs hospital and has had an op for anything to do with the stomach gets told to get up and mobile asap, lesser than 24hrs atter a major stomach op catherer is taken out so patient has to get up to to to the toilet, and women tend to babies after a major op, c section.

seems like the young “royals” want the benefits of passive income and billionaire lifestyle but dont want the mandatory photo ops and ribbon cutting that goes along with it

MollyButton · 01/03/2024 06:38

When I had a hysterectomy (buy robots so fast recovery). I was up and out of hospital within 24 hours, but signed off work for 6 weeks, and too a year to fully recover. (And I was wfh at the time but did need those 6 weeks to recover)
