To ask if anyone has this awful virus at the moment?

I can't remember feeling so unwell before. I'm coughing up horrible green stuff (sorry tmi), my throat is agony, my chest really hurts when I cough, I have zero appetite, haven't eaten properly in 6 days now, and instead of getting better I'm feeling a bit better one day and then 20x worse the next. I've tried to keep going at work this week despite feeling so awful so maybe that hasn't helped, I've possibly pushed myself too far. I'm at home today and feeling absolutely rotten. Im in tears with the pain all over my body and my throat and chest 😢

Anyone else got this ?? It's absolutely floored me. I've called the GP and they're ringing me back this afternoon but in all honesty they'll probably just say it's viral and I have to ride it out. 😢

Aw hopefully you are on the mend soon! What antibiotics did you get.

@Jadeee123 I'm on amoxicillin. Fingers crossed it makes a difference, I'm desperate to be rid of this now😢

Aw I bet you do! I still think I have pneumonia to be honest I think I’m gunna have to go back to docs for my 3rd lot of antibiotics!!

Three of my 5 colleagues have had it. My manager, who's never ill, has been really laid low by it and still feels dead rough 3 weeks after she first got ill.

One colleague's wife and 3 kids all got it, too, and just as the last one was recovering, his wife and one of the kids came down with Covid.

We're all staying home and having meetings via Teams.

Oh dear this isn't looking good for me. I'm at the end of my week's self certification for sickness, so will have to try to get through on the phone to the doctors tomorrow. I thought I'd be well enough to go in, but still have: head feels like full of cotton wool & headache, raging sore throat, bunged up nose & resultant nose cold sore & persistent cough.
The snot doesn't seem to have gone to my chest, for which I'm grateful. However, at nighttime it sticks my eyes together & fans out from my nose. It's a bit like scratching off a face mask in the morning.
I work with vulnerable young people with disabilities, so not a chance of wfh.

@edissa oh that's awful and how crap of that nurse to have dismissed you initially!!! I was told viral at first too but went back because my temp wouldn't go down and I had crackles!!! I had amoxicillin too and by day 3 I felt SO much better so hopefully you will too. Pleurisy sounds so painful on top of it all though. Don't hesitate to go back if you don't feel right! I hope you feel much better asap!!

DH and I are much worse than the kids. Almost a week in bed now while juggling 2 children under 2…brutal 😩

Friend who's self employed been in bed for two weeks. Got to GP yesterday. Antibiotics for chest infection so now three weeks with no income. She's been so poorly.

I've been I'll 3 weeks now- first 2 weeks was like a viral illness not getting any better went to GP and now on antibiotics for a chest infection! Never been I'll for this long before!

day 31 im still alive,just coming out the otherside,last week went to sinus from hell ended up on anti biotics that made feel really sick lived on toast and yogurt,,starting to get a bit of energy back,if one more person says to me while walking my dog you cant still be ill i will chuck something at them,they really dont know how lucky they are not to have caught it,

I know it’s going on a month for me now with 3 different bugs! I’ve forgot what it feels like to
acually feel normal xx

Omg I have this and so does my mum. I've just had surgery and due another op, really don't need it right now as been a bit feverish too and it was making me worry:( I've found water, water and more water is the key. Loosens up all the gunk and its gross but better than stuck.

I'm still coughing and I can't be sure I haven't caught something else on top

Our immune systems are battered this winter

I feel like death! I have an appointment at the walk in centre this morning because my GP is booked for 2 weeks.

I feel like I can’t breathe. Can barely lift my head. Everything hurts and aches. I have no idea what this is but I’ve never been so poorly in my life!

I am debating going back to the gp or walk in today thought I had the sickness bug but just read that nausea and runs can indicate pneumonia again! I am just so sick at the moment and feel like absolute death.

My MIL has been diagnosed with whooping cough so it’s out there. Just wondering if any of these strange coughs could be that? She’s been prescribed ABs and is now on the mend

I’ve just got back and been diagnosed with a chest infection on top of a virus or flu. I’ve been given antibiotics and anti sickness meds. Really hope they work!

What antibiotics have they gave you?

Doxycycline. Im hoping they work fast!
