To ask if anyone has this awful virus at the moment?

I can't remember feeling so unwell before. I'm coughing up horrible green stuff (sorry tmi), my throat is agony, my chest really hurts when I cough, I have zero appetite, haven't eaten properly in 6 days now, and instead of getting better I'm feeling a bit better one day and then 20x worse the next. I've tried to keep going at work this week despite feeling so awful so maybe that hasn't helped, I've possibly pushed myself too far. I'm at home today and feeling absolutely rotten. Im in tears with the pain all over my body and my throat and chest 😢

Anyone else got this ?? It's absolutely floored me. I've called the GP and they're ringing me back this afternoon but in all honesty they'll probably just say it's viral and I have to ride it out. 😢

This morning I thought I was going to be admitted back to hospital, I felt so, SO bad.

Now I feel like I have turned a corner. Feels like a brick has been lifted off my chest and that I can breath. I feel SO much better. It's quite bizarre.

I’ve got this, as well.
(had it a few years ago and it was diagnosed as globus pharyngeus)
really sore throat
barking cough
banging sore head that just will not lift
really bad sinus pain- every step hurts
sore ears
sore eyes
stomach pain which only eases when I eat
exhaustion

@Jadeee123 DD 19 had the feeling of something in her throat. She was convinced but I was less so as she had cold symptoms. At one point she couldn’t keep fluid down and we got a bit worried then it suddenly passed. DH is on amoxicillin for chest and sinus infections and now day 4 of them and a marked improvement.

I’ve been on doxycycline for pneumonia for 5 days now tiny bit improvement but still feel awful!!

Oh God I've been off for 3 weeks with this. I'm going back to work tomorrow. It's the worst thing I've ever had. It turned into pneumonia and I ended up on doxycycline.
Negative to covid.
I'm still very very tired and have been asleep all afternoon but I have work committments and have to go back. Its just horrible and ruined Xmas for all of us.

Mine started to get better just at the point where I was starting to worry I was seriously ill and googling things about lymph nodes. Hopefully those of you who are still in the trenches with it will reach the turning point soon!

Husband and mother both have it. I've dodged so far hope it stays that way. Hope you feel better soon

I’m perking up again, though it’s been very up and down.

No antibiotics but I already have inhalers

I thought I was doing better as my Fitbit was telling me my 02 was in my normal range. Turns out that my range has been adjusted down as it’s been low for three weeks.

started 29th dec,cough and cold like none ive had before so tired, i have nose problems they flared up,so fed up, now feel like my sinus is bad going to message doctor in the morning, think i need antibiotics,the nose stuff im loosing is terrible,also very cold not hungry ,

Just got an horrific sore throat, a cough and feel exhausted. Throat is the worst. TBH I've been ill continually since November, - it's been one virus after another.

Yes I'm about 2 weeks in - had a cough cold headache temp coughing till I was vomiting, then it seemed to get better and I put the Vicks and Brufen and cough medicine into the cabinet back downstairs from beside my bed then a few days later it came back with a vengeance! 🙈cough gone but streaming cold and now my right side is in agony due to all the coughing I have done. Luckily on the better side but omg it's awful- hope everyone recovers swiftly

Yes!!!!! Sore throat, exhaustion, cough, slight nausea, generally feeling like getting out of bed was similar to climbing Everest. H and I have had it bad, DS and DD to a lesser extent (did they get a milder version because they got the flu vaccine at school? Not sure). The aftermath reminds me of long COVID, which DH had in 2020 - you feel better and rashly decide to exert yourself and then the next day you feel incredibly rotten.

I had this with green phelgm assumed viral

Ended up in high dependency with sepsis

@SilverSideUp that's terrifying. What were your symptoms if you don't mind me asking? Hope you're on the mend now.

I'm waiting for a call back from the GP. I feel so unwell still. I just want to sleep but I have a toddler to look after which is hell on earth feeling this bad. The cough is making me almost vomit and I feel nauseous and unable to eat. It's now been almost 2 weeks of this.

My dad son and husband had this. They all need antibiotics. Get checked out op.
I've woken up snotty woth a sore throat but no cough ( yet) I hope i don't have the same

Been back to go and been put back on doxycycline for another 5 days!

i had it nearly the whole of December, it was hell, had no rest and was mucking out horses in tears on the worst week. i still have the cough now

I have some sort of virus.

Had Covid over Christmas but this is another thing as was well in between.

Omg, yes!!! That's why I'm off work and browsing on here. It really is the worst bug, or probably flu, that I've ever had.😤😤😤

@Jadeee123 , I'm shivering from head to toe, cause of my temperature. My throat feels like I'm swallowing razor blades and I'm coughing a raspy hacky type cough. 🥺🥺🥺

Aw no that must be awful! At least we are in the same boat! I just feel absolutely rotten my chest is killing and my fevers and night sweats are driving me insane!

@Jadeee123 , but to be fair, we ve all had this bug and it does only seem to last a week and a half, so if U don't see any improvement, go back to Ur doctor.🤗🤗

I was back at gp today I’m on 5 more days of doxycycline xx
