I find it hard to buy gifts!

He says he doesn't need anything (as we are going on a trip and that is gift enough.)

OP posts:
Dacadactyl · 16/12/2023 14:15

Nothing. He doesn't need anything or want anything either.

DustyLee123 · 16/12/2023 14:15

Can I tag in here too? The only thing I’ve got mine is the new YSL fragrance.

Alargeoneplease89 · 16/12/2023 14:16

An atari because he's hit his midlife crisis 😂

countrygirl99 · 16/12/2023 14:16

We don't do presents to each other. We book something to do together. Some years it's a meal in a posh restaurant. This year it's a weekend away.

10HailMarys · 16/12/2023 14:17

Football shirt, various books, a weird niche board game I think he’ll like, a whisky glass.

murasaki · 16/12/2023 14:18

Thermals for work as requested. And a gadget for making it easier to watch movies on his phone, a kind of enlarger device that you slot the phone into.
He doesn't know about that one.

Merryoldgoat · 16/12/2023 14:18

Bits and bobs:

A fancy paint brush kit
cotton PJ bottoms
Tops
L’Occitane shower gel
Hand Cream

Fairly ordinary but he’ll like them.

Hellocatshome · 16/12/2023 14:19

A sushi making kit.

Axolotlrulestheworld · 16/12/2023 14:19

Port and Lego! No he hasn't asked for them I know he likes them!

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 16/12/2023 14:19

Always good quality socks, as he loves the feel of new socks - books - we don't send cards but buy a book for each celebration and put a dedication in it, so it is a reminder - a wallet, where the cards are secure, as his is a bit tatty, so an upgrade - a belt to replace one that just disintegrated after many years of use.

luckylavender · 16/12/2023 14:20

National Trust membership

Cnidarian · 16/12/2023 14:21

A cashmere jumper and a voucher for a massage. He would never get himself these things but will like them

VeronicasCloset · 16/12/2023 14:23

Nothing very original but more luxurious versions of what he has already; dressing gown, slippers, cologne, wet shave set, upgraded lap top bag and then some tickets for a show. It’s my gentle way of pushing him towards a glow up!

Queenfreak · 16/12/2023 14:23

Travel mug, gym water bottle, wireless headphones, a jacket, some lindt balls.

Probably a cd and a new belt too

pinklemonata · 16/12/2023 14:23

A new work rucksack and nothing else, We've set a £50 budget to stick to!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 16/12/2023 14:24

A refill for his Filofax ( he gets that every year and has stopped asking for it). A new cover for his IPad ( so smart I would have liked to keep it for myself) ; some wheelie bin stickers ( in-joke). A very smart gilet which goes under a jacket. A replacement cd for one which he has literally played to death.

I’ve just realised how ancient all this technology is…..

AnnaMagnani · 16/12/2023 14:26

Mine also has everything he needs. So I am replacing stuff that is broken and calling it presents.

He is doing exactly the same for me.

greensleevez · 16/12/2023 14:29

A subscription to Prospect magazine and a new clergy shirt (he is ordained).

orchardsquare · 16/12/2023 14:29

A watch - nothing fancy. Plus a book and socks.

Redlorryyellowlorryblue · 16/12/2023 14:31

Pizza oven

CrotchetyQuaver · 16/12/2023 14:32

It's a significant birthday for him a week before and our 30th wedding anniversary so this year I have really pushed the boat out and bought him a new iPad.
Normally it wouldn't be anywhere near as much, I'd be looking to spend around £100 depending on if he wanted something specific or just general stuff.

EasterIssland · 16/12/2023 14:32

Lego and a clock he asked for. And a notepad for writing his moans

Solmum1964 · 16/12/2023 14:34

I do DH a stocking and over the years some items have become a bit of a tradition:
Viz annual
Cycling themed t-shirt
Box of shortbread
Box of Hotel Chocolat winter puddings chocolates
Socks (cycling themed ordinary socks plus some merino cycling socks)
A couple of other cycling themed books - you might have guessed his hobby!

I've also bought him a 30L rucksack to replace one that is on its last legs

Sunshineismyfavourite · 16/12/2023 14:36

Hamper with his favourite cheese and biscuits, a new jumper, a goat - not a real one it's from action aid charity, these are fab ideas for people who already have everything and my DH loves goats! We're also going on holiday in Jan to Cape Verde which I'm paying for.

dutysuite · 16/12/2023 14:39

We don’t really buy for each other, perhaps a token gift so the children can see us opening something, but if we want something we just buy it. I like it this way, less stress.
