I find it hard to buy gifts!

He says he doesn't need anything (as we are going on a trip and that is gift enough.)

OP posts:
HippyChickMama · 16/12/2023 16:55

A stocking of random but nice or useful things he will use
An album he loves on vinyl
A bobble hat from our local football team
A book of latte art designs and how to do them (bit of a jokey one as he's become obsessed lately with trying to create the pattern in the foam like baristas do)

dressedforcomfort · 16/12/2023 16:58

Tickets for a gig he wants to go to.
Band merch from his favourite band
A flannel lumberjack shirt from Rapanui
Some whisky miniatures
Giant ass Toblerone

Blankspace35 · 16/12/2023 17:04

A new xbox and whiskey

80sMum · 16/12/2023 17:04

I'm getting him exactly what he wants - nothing! He's doing the same for me. It's very liberating.

AhBiscuits · 16/12/2023 17:06

I've bought him a lego mclaren.

Fluffypiki · 16/12/2023 17:07

He is always cold so a heated blanket.

National Trust membership

Thanks for the idea! My husband is retiring next week so it's an ideal Christmas/retirement present!

pizzaHeart · 16/12/2023 17:09

My DH is not big fan of shopping so I often buy what he needs just nicer: socks with wool and silk, nice shirt, pjs, small bag for travel, chocolates or biscuits I know he’ll like, small bottle of something interesting. If he needs some tools or tech he just goes and buys so I buy him clothes and small treats.

starfishmummy · 16/12/2023 17:10

Shirt, pants and socks, a model to make and a couple of joke gifts. I'll probably think about adding something else like a book. And am hoping there's an idea on his amazon list as I have no idea!

EvesamtsirhC · 16/12/2023 17:11

Le Creuset espresso cups and a Private Eye annual.

luckylavender · 16/12/2023 17:14

@Foxymoxy68 - pleased to have been of service

Vettrianofan · 16/12/2023 17:18

endlesscraziness · 16/12/2023 17:23

Mine has got:

Tickets to Morcheeba at Cheltenham Jazz festival and a hotel stay
Shirt
Wildlife camera
Puzzle roll thing and puzzle
Ticket to Ride Game
Pants

MrsMiddleMother · 16/12/2023 17:25

A mini fridge for his office and a big Bertha bean bag for when he's gaming. Two things he's been mentioning wanting but won't buy for himself so was easy this year!

He will be thrilled! Thank you again.

Rugby tickets
voucher for a fancy hotel brunch
comedy tickets
book
board game
nice socks
coffee beans
chocolate
moisturiser
Rubik’s cube
hot honey

We’re having a couple of nights away in a fancy hotel in January as our main present to each other.

Samsonsmum · 16/12/2023 18:23

A life-size plastic skeleton, a grey long hair wig and a tube of milky bar buttons. Enjoy

QuiltedHippo · 17/12/2023 07:07

Leeds/Reading festival day ticket for us both

Hornby train to go round the tree

A plastic trug for weeding that was about a fiver from the saddlers as think its a horse feed bowl, which he's bound to love more than the spendy gifts...

Stocking I wrapped ages ago so can't remember exactly but included the private eye annual, lego minifigure, oh thanks to mumsnet I got a left handed cake fork he's been desperate for for years!

AussieKoala01 · 17/12/2023 07:25

New car seat covers and seeds for his ever growing green thumb!

PossumintheHouse · 17/12/2023 07:30

For his stocking - a posh chocolate bar, mini gins, a scratch card, swimming shorts, a book, pair of socks, a soap, origami papers, Nando’s gift card, t-shirt, a game.

And for main pressie, an easel, an artwork and a Mr Frosty.

MonkeyPuddle · 17/12/2023 07:35

New Leeds rhinos top

free umbrella that came with oddballs order
bbq accessories pack (he got the BBQ for his birthday)
Black Sheep Rob Burrow gift pack with some beers, glass and one of Robs books.

I remember really understand it when people say they 'buy what they want' because do people really buy themselves the same things you'd get as presents? Like I've never thought about buying a 30 quid bottle of shower gel or really fancy chocolates for myself. I thought that was the point!

I’m single and yes I buy £30 shower gel for myself. Nobody else is likely to, although my friends do buy me lovely gifts.

DinosApple · 17/12/2023 08:01

Green house staging, slab of chocolate, a few beers from the kids and a thing with buttons that quotes Life of Brian.

He also needs pants but he'll have to wait as I've spent enough!

Ooh, can you signpost me to the Life of Brian thing?

DustyLee123 · 17/12/2023 08:08

I’ve bought stuff for mine in the past that he’s just not used, like the Lego he was so into at one point, and the chocolates from his favourite shop which went off before he ate them.
So this year it just aftershave and coffee. Hopefully these will get used.
