I'm not going to watch, vote or engage with their social media. I plan to turn my back the same way he did to teenage musicians. I nothing would make me happier than seeing IACGMOFH veiwing figures collaps because of him.

So, AIBU or not?

If anyone knows of any 'don't watch' social media campaigns I'd be grateful if you could link to them here.

I am the reverse.,haven't watched fir a few years...but I will this year!

Appalonia · 17/11/2023 08:32

You know loads of pp are going to watch it to see him humiliated ( which is why ITV have paid him so much money), so although you are not being U, I think you're on a hiding to nothing here...

LBFseBrom · 17/11/2023 08:35

I abhor his politics but have found Nigel Farage quite entertaining at times. I will watch it, or some of it, and hope he gets lots of difficult tasks and goes out early.

Thing is, as I understand it, the more trials you do and the longer you stay, the more money you get paid.

I never watch it anyway. Hopefully NF is not gonna be rehabilitated into a "national treasure" as a result of this 😬

Tortiemiaw · 17/11/2023 08:38

Yep. The difference between barrymore and boy George and farage, to my mind, is that Farage is an actual out and out racist - he is vocal and vicious and openly hates. Not excusing others' behaviours, but this vile toad of a man can and does influence people with his disgusting rhetoric. What he says is actual hate speech.
I'm sure others may disagree but accepting him on a popular culture platform just makes me give up on any chance we have of mending this country

Throwhandsupintheair · 17/11/2023 08:42

He’s a champion grifter. The media doesn’t learn. They gave Boris a platform on HIGNFY to promote himself as being a loveable rogue, which helped him become PM, and now this.

Farage is the architect of this country’s descent into poverty. I don’t find him humorous in any way. I hope this backfires on ITV.

Do you normally watch it?

maddening · 17/11/2023 08:44

I don't watch the program anyway but think the purity spirals are a pile of shit

MummyMumMumMummy · 17/11/2023 08:46

I’ll be watching. I do hope Farage gets bitten by one of Aussies deadliest while he sleeps.. but I’m excited to see a few others in there.. Josie and Fred look like their going to be fairly entertaining.
Jamie Spears has a face like she’s sucking a lemon all the time so I think she’ll annoy me.

x2boys · 17/11/2023 08:46

Last year was hilarious
Mums net and social media were outraged that Matt Hancock was in it and the voting public voted for him to.do.all.the trials and he smashed them😂

beetr00 · 17/11/2023 08:47

@Kendodd

The fee is fixed before they enter. (it's only if they walk is it altered)

More trials does not extrapolate into a longer stay.

Curious, did you watch when Hancock was in? 😱

Sillysoppysentimental · 17/11/2023 08:47

P.S don't think he will be bothered if you watch or not.🤣 Nor anyone else.

CurlewKate · 17/11/2023 08:48

I don't watch it-but if I thought it would show Farage up as the shut he is I would. But it won't. He has a ton of charm and he's a brilliant media operator. And he'll come out of it all ready to be our next prime minister but one. It's so depressing.

Mothership4two · 17/11/2023 08:48

He's being paid a lot anyway which shows where his morals are.

Haven't watched it for years after it seemed to get more humiliating for contestants and they tried to hike up the drama. Didn't they bring in a prison area - bit like Big Brother?

MummyMumMumMummy · 17/11/2023 08:48

@x2boys that annoyed me so much that by the end I found myself saying “fair play to him” because he took the challengers like a champ. I still despite his face though.. but there’s no doubt he was a team player 😂

GoodOldEmmaNess · 17/11/2023 08:48

It's quite gratifying that he is on I'm A Celeb. It shows that he has found the niche that is appropriate to his level of gravitas (and that he is pretty desperate).

Great that he has found a way of slaking his thirst for fame and money that is less likely to corrode British & international politics .

I just hope that they keep all of Australia's deadly snakes and insects out of the camp. Wouldn't want any of them to be bitten by someone as poisonous as him.

FinallyFinalGirl · 17/11/2023 08:49

I will watch it. The only time I boycotted was when Boy George featured....a convicted kidnapper who tortured his victim and who wants men to access spaces where little girls are naked is someone I just could not have on my TV.

That’s not right, it’s a fixed fee unless you leave by choice.

i will watch a bit if I can be arsed, nothing to do with farage, suspect he will be quite entertaining.

I agree. He's said he wants to go on because lots of young people watch and can hear his views.

Nigel Farage is the only one I know! I saw the rest of the line up and thought that they're really scraping the barrel, a Youtuber FFS! Desperate or what?

AutumnCrow · 17/11/2023 08:53

I've always hated it so I will make the supreme sacrifice and boycott it for you, OP, along with the other hundred things I'm currently avoiding.

ilovesooty · 17/11/2023 08:54

I don't watch it anyway but if I did I wouldn't want to watch that repulsive piece of shit.
