I'm not going to watch, vote or engage with their social media. I plan to turn my back the same way he did to teenage musicians. I nothing would make me happier than seeing IACGMOFH veiwing figures collaps because of him.

So, AIBU or not?

Good thing you’ve not created a trending post that thousands of people will see that gives him exactly the kind of publicity he craves.

Whiskeypowers · 17/11/2023 09:28

Have never watched this drivel so makes no difference to me. On the topic of NF though I suspect - sadly - that he is rather more popular in this country than you realise

Dontmesswiththeyakult · 17/11/2023 09:02

That should have read NF not NG. Where's an edit button when you need one...

There’s been an ‘edit’ function on MN posts for a few months now.

FWIW, Farage is an odious shit and it’s no surprise that he’s on this vile programme that’s all about attention seeking and PR rehab for the washed up.

Aposterhasnoname · 17/11/2023 09:29

Meh “ nothing would make me happier than seeing IACGMOH viewing figures collapse” sounds like cancel culture to me, but whatever.

OldTinHat · 17/11/2023 09:30

I'm definitely going to watch it!

EasternStandard · 17/11/2023 09:31

FestiveSandman · 17/11/2023 09:04

YABU. The figures won’t collapse because of him, they will go UP because of him.

I haven’t watched for years and won’t this time but all
this talk of social media campaigns by the op are making someone in marketing for it happy

HellonHeels · 17/11/2023 09:32

I don't watch because it's absolute shit and the animal cruelty is appalling.

Farage is no better or worse than many other so-called 'celebs'

Animal cruelty?! 😂What animal cruelty?!

Sobbing your heart out for a cockroach are you? 😂

Tessasanderson · 17/11/2023 09:33

Part of the attraction of this show is to allow the public to get a glimpse into public figures real persona under pressure/hungry etc. It may be that you like the person or you hate him but they are equally valid reasons to watch.

If we just close ourselves off from people, their views and close any communication off we will never get close to understanding them.

I dont like him or his views but i would be very interested to see how he deals with people in the camp having different views and if he is just a blinkered idiot. Oh and seeing him suffer wont be the worst thing ive watched.

I don't think living creatures should suffer for our "entertainment".

AllesAusLiebe · 17/11/2023 09:39

Agreed @HellonHeels . The animal cruelty in this show is despicable, which is the reason I don't watch it.

Starting social media campaigns to influence what other people watch on TV is pathetic and childish, however. The people who are invested in the behaviour of others to this extent genuinely worry me.

Jitterybugs · 17/11/2023 09:40

I enjoy this programme but last year was spoiled for me by the presence of Matt Hancock. He was repeatedly voted for challenges and sailed through them until he came close to winning. Now we have the odious Farage who I suspect will do the same. What next ? Maybe Suella Braverman for a late arrival?

PallyRoe · 17/11/2023 09:42

I don’t usually watch it but probably will this year out of curiosity.

But then I think ‘cancel culture’ is the domain of the stupid. I can actually understand and articulate why I have the opinions that I do, so watching or hearing someone who disagrees with me doesn’t scare or anger me.

Neither does the idea that someone who has views I don’t like is just a human being too, who is capable of showing both good and bad qualities.

I don’t understand this modern desire to put everyone who doesn’t agree with EVERYTHING you do to be put in the ‘irredeemably bad person box’, so much so that the realisation they might actually be nice in some respects rocks your world and causes rage.

DogInATent · 17/11/2023 09:44

I will be continuing not to watch it, maintaining my non-watching streak since it first aired.

Is it too much to hope that Noel Edmunds is in charge of NF's challenges this year?

This.

I understand Boy George was found guilty of some serious offences and people watched him earn money. I didn't since didn't want to support him.

BoohooWoohoo · 17/11/2023 09:47

I've not watched it since Katie Price was on it but I think that people will watch to see Farage do the trials and he will get the column inches.

Oh really? And how are they suffering?!

MrsSkylerWhite · 17/11/2023 09:51

Newsflash: even insects feel pain. Inflicting it deliberately, for entertainment, is sick. Would you do the same to a dog?

OceanicBoundlessness · 17/11/2023 09:51

Although I haven't watched for a couple of years as the formula has just become boring. Matt Hancock being on it last year was extra reason not to watch it.

I may watch some this year and make my own mind up.

CurlewKate · 17/11/2023 09:52

@Aposterhasnoname "People are saying they don’t want to watch it because Farage is on it. This implying if he wasn’t, they’d watch. That’s cancel culture."

So everyone has to watch everything? How does that work?

Watch this. If you don’t, then I will say you have cancelled all of these UK drill artists.

No it isn’t. It’s not wanting to watch a dickhead practicing that in their free time.
if you choose not to watch Eastenders but another show, are you “cancelling” it. Of course not, you’re exercising consumer choice.

everyone has to watch everything. Really? That’s what you got from that? Really? OMG!

Ok. I’ll try to make it simpler to understand. If people are not watching because they wouldn't watch anyway. Fine. If they are only not watching because Farage is on it, calling for others to boycott it too, and hope the “viewing figures collapse” because he’s on it, then in my opinion, that’s cancel culture.

MrsSkylerWhite · 17/11/2023 10:02

Nope, its exercising choice.

I don't need the appearance of that twat to continue with my boycott of such an utter unmitigated pile of prurient wank. YABU to ever watch such shit in the first place.
