Kendodd · 17/11/2023 08:20

I'm not going to watch, vote or engage with their social media. I plan to turn my back the same way he did to teenage musicians. I nothing would make me happier than seeing IACGMOFH veiwing figures collaps because of him.

So, AIBU or not?

I have never understood why people watch this at all. People eating horrible things? What's entertaining about that? I don't get it.

As for NF, the initials say it all.

Cattenberg · 21/11/2023 14:27

PureHoney · 21/11/2023 14:14

I don’t watch it because I dislike the way they treat animals and because it’s boring. Happy also to avoid Farage.

I can’t stand the way they treat animals either. Even insects don’t deserve to be eaten alive by Katie Price (or whoever).

SurelySmartie · 21/11/2023 14:30

I don’t usually watch it but I am at the moment because he is in it. Don’t particularly like him or what he stands for but I was curious to see what he’s like.

Concannon88 · 21/11/2023 14:31

I've not watched for years as I think its animal cruelty. But when I saw posts on fb about him being in it, I couldn't believe the number of people praising him to the hilt. But then I suppose the posts were from the sun. Says it all.

OP, you seem incredibly angry and butter. Its just a person, someone you don't even know personally. Is it really worth getting into such a lather about this, you don't actually know the man. Take care of yourself, politics arent worth losing your own health over.

This. When did people become so militant?

The man had a political point of view and, whether we like it or not, 51% of the population supported that view.

Don't watch him if you don't want to. But lots of people like him - and are allowed to.

Despite Hancock's abysmal behaviour/ policies during the pandemic - that undoubtedly resulted in actual deaths! - he was hailed a hero on last year's IAC.

Compared to that cretin, Farage doesn't offend me in the slightest.

SurelySmartie · 21/11/2023 14:33

He has 1.5 million reasons to do the show, political motivations are secondary.
He's a grifter. He only does what he does for financial gain, there's no political conviction.

I don’t think he’s even in politics anymore is he?

Someone just said what NF says is actual hate speech - you are obviously not hearing what's coming out of the mouths of people marching on the streets or from imams in the local mosques - I think I'm in a parallel universe to MN

2dogsandabudgie · 21/11/2023 16:17

Cattenberg - I haven't watched it for quite a few years but I'm sure I read that they stopped the live insect eating a few years back.

pacora · 21/11/2023 16:24

ilovesooty · 17/11/2023 08:54

I don't watch it anyway but if I did I wouldn't want to watch that repulsive piece of shit.

What's wrong with him?

Exactly.

Could you imagine people saying ‘oh it’s just a few bad apples, I’m still going to march’ if they were marching alongside people shouting ‘gas the gays’ or ‘kill black people, rape their daughters’ through megaphones.

But swap out the words ‘gay’ and ‘black’ with ‘Jews’ and it’s all fine, nothing to see here.

He suggested he could join the conservatives and run for leader. And that was just a month ago whilst at the party conference. Of course he's still in politics, it's where he gets his oxygen.

Ffsmakeitstop · 21/11/2023 16:39

I won't watch it because it's puerile shite.

BadPennyReturns · 21/11/2023 16:53

OP I've been settling myself down in my cosy lounge to watch every episode and I've put my second telly on in my conservatory to make up for the fact you are not watching.

Viva Nigel Farage 😂

Me too. And 👏🏼@Kitanai. You’re both right.

Grantanow · 21/11/2023 17:05

Yuk. It's drivel.

hattie43 · 21/11/2023 17:07

Other than Nigel and Josie I don't know who the others are

Everanewbie · 21/11/2023 17:23

You may not agree with his politics, OP. But he's hardly Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Slobodan Milošević, Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler or Harold Shipman. He's just a person who believes that the UK is better served by being outside of the EU and campaigned for it. The case against him clearly wasn't strong enough to win the referendum. You may disagree with that, but to boycott a programme that you have previously enjoyed because one contestant, of many, holds views about a trade block, is unhinged.

I have a dislike for Matt Hancock. He was busy 'deploying the new variant' and daring to come up with laws to restrict our lives whilst not being very socially distant from someone who didn't live with him. So I loved watching him getting punched, insulted, shouted at and put through the mill on SAS, Who Dares, Wins. I don't think we're quite even yet, but I feel like I've got something back on him. Maybe thinking of it that way would enable you to enjoy it.

caringcarer · 21/11/2023 17:45

Ha ha I. Watching because he's in it. I hope they make him do every horrible task.

LizzieSiddal · 21/11/2023 17:50

I usally watch all of it but haven’t and won’t this year. I wish him, Johnson, Reds Mogg, Cummings etc etc etc were dropped off in the jungle and left there. They’ve caused irreparable damage to this country.

HaroldMeaker · 21/11/2023 17:51

I'm with you OP ! Nigel is just appalling.
I might have watched because I like Grace Dent, but I can't bring myself to watch that odious creature as well.

LizzieSiddal · 21/11/2023 17:53

He's just a person who believes that the UK is better served by being outside of the EU and campaigned for it.

If he thinks that why has he got his two children and himself an EU passport after Brexit (as his ex wife is German.) How can he justify doing that but denying 60 odd million people the same thing?

I thought he wasn't able to get an EU passport?

His children by his first wife have the Irish connection, those by his second wife the German connection. But marriage to a German national does not qualify him for an EU passport. There is an absolute residence requirement.

Xmaswomble · 21/11/2023 23:02

you have to understand @caringcarer that this is not a punishment. He knows he will be nominated for every task. He wants to be. He wants to show what a ‘great guy’ he is. It’s just another form of manipulation of the public in order to become a populist politician and I’d have hoped people would have wised up to that by now.

Exactly. It's like we're getting like North Korea where a left wing propaganda exists and society is only allowed to have those opinions.
