They tell us to help our daughters to protect themselves from male violence by thinking about what they wear, how much they drink, how late to stay out, where they go…
Are we supposed to add to the list ‘not rejecting a bunch of flowers in case you get stabbed to death’. This is horrifying.

I’m so so sick of male violence. It feels everywhere and inescapable. More luck than anything that your daughter isn’t the one. This poor girl and her family.

Teenage boy stabbed girl, 15, to death with 'a machete after argument'

Met Police officers rushed to Wellesley Road outside the Whitgift shopping centre. Paramedics battled to save the 15-year-old's life but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Celebrate Happy Birthday GIF by doodles

Why is everyone piling on frustratednomad it’s already been confirmed drugs, gangs, violence are the issue around knife crime besides misogyny in the case of this abhorrent crime.

I didn’t see anything about race mentioned unless that what you meant as a poster implied

@frustratednomad

Fuckthatguy · 28/09/2023 19:38

No idea where the gif came from

Fuckthatguy · 28/09/2023 19:39

Nope won’t go even if I edit. Odd.

Why do we need to know about her school fees?? Is there a narrative being peddled here that she thought herself too good for him (since it isn't clear he went to the same school)...?? It has to be her fault somehow. 🤨

I also wondered why the Daily Hate Mail thought that was a necessary detail. Not sure what I thought was the intended narrative.

frustratednomad · 28/09/2023 19:43

I never mentioned race, the problem is with all young people but my god we aren't allowed to talk about it without some people going down the racist route and that's where the close minds just shut off

SkinnyMalinkyLankyLegs · 28/09/2023 19:43

beAsensible1 · 28/09/2023 15:30

Lol. Stop and search has less than nothing to do with whether you have a weapon or not as it’s not based on any actual evidence.

you don’t even have a dogs understanding of the insane racial profiling that goes on with S&S with your mixed kids.

maybe open a book, so if god forbid your kids are subject to a cavity search on the side of the road you’ll actually be of use rather than thanking officers for giving your child ptsd

🙄 OK....

Fuckthatguy · 28/09/2023 19:49

There are so many posters on here personalising their experience of having a jolly good old time, and everything is wonderful and they feel safe. This isn’t about that at all, this is about all the girls who have lost their lives, been sexually assaulted, abused, victimised, the list goes on. How is this lost on some of you.

PP’s are not tarring all men with the same brush, but the those who are decent who share the same chromosomes, as this absolute fucking lunatic, are complacent, as evidenced by what OP shared about the conversation she had with her DH. He’s never been in fear of his safety in the same way women and girls
are.

I don't think that's the narrative.... perhaps it's more the fact that a lot of people think this issue of youth violence only affects certain socio economic groups and this proves otherwise.

Agree.

But I’m sorry to say that this story wouldn’t have made the front pages if she had gone to a rough state school.

It was absolutely clear what you’re implying so stop the backtracking.

What aren’t we “allowed to talk about” with young people in general if that really was who your post was about? What’s the big secret that nobody can mention?

frustratednomad · 28/09/2023 20:11

It's not a secret, it's how many underprivileged young kids have been let down by life, useless parents, glorified rap music, easy money selling drugs, being part of the toughest gang, being hard by carrying weapons, the list goes on. Also people like you that looks for racism everywhere, get that chip off your shoulder and look at what's happening around you."

Exactly

Bongosbingos · 28/09/2023 20:19

I'm confused, the article says he killed the girl because she rejected his flowers, but it was her friend he stabbed. Horrific all the same, but so sad that she was just trying to protect her friend.

I think the fact that it was a girl who died also has made it a big story. We're more used to hearing about boys being stabbed...

Fuckthatguy · 28/09/2023 20:20

So which race specifically was Frustratednomad referring to then, as underprivileged when I last checked doesn’t belong to any particular one that I’m aware of.

This narrative which is being spun is beyond decisive, then everyone is astonished when there is still so much anger at each other.

Again this thread gets derailed, instead of focusing on the core matter of what happened yesterday which is violence again woman and girls, but hey that’s fine because the women now are too distracted with the infighting to do much about it.

Fuckthatguy · 28/09/2023 20:22

ffs divisive

How are we NOT allowed to talk about that? It's been discussed at length on this very thread?

I think most people understood your point perfectly - stop digging

I see racism where there is racism, your backtracking is embarrassing. I saw it and other posters saw it.

I won’t be engaging with you further, but I hope you manage to educate yourself and do better in future.

You’re absolutely right, apologies for derailing I’ll be ignoring that poster now.

Fuckthatguy · 28/09/2023 20:27

It’s so upsetting within the context of what happened to this beautiful girl, the same shit last night and I had to step away because it’s pointless engaging with some posters who actively seek conflict. The focus should be on the core issue of what happened. Yea there are other societal issues which are abhorrent, but this, is not about that, this is about what happened in a bus at 8:30 yesterday morning.

I must apologise, but this is deeply deeply emotive.

SofiYol · 28/09/2023 20:30

@Fuckthatguy no need to apologise at all, I think we are all feeling angry and extremely upset about what happened yesterday morning. I hope you’re ok.

Brefugee · 28/09/2023 20:32

SweetcornFritter · 28/09/2023 17:43

There are no state imposed restrictions on women’s freedoms or behaviours in this country (that don’t also apply to men) so to equate an enforced lockdown of men for 24/7 (utterly unenforceable and completely pointless) with the list of instructions you seem to think women are subjugated by IS bonkers. I don’t know about you but I go out when I want, drink what I like, smile at whomsoever I choose, and have never felt the need to go home clutching my car keys between my fingers. I lived in London for many years too, through the 80s and 90s, frequented places like Ladbroke Grove, Brixton and other crime ridden hot spots and yes, I received unwanted attention from men, some of it menacing and unpleasant but I was able to stand up for myself and I don’t harbour a grudge against men as a result or think they should all be locked up. How enforcing such a punishment on perfectly decent boys and men who have only ever treated women with respect is going to help the situation I really cannot imagine. Some perspective needed I think.

I'm not engaging again.

You (and other pp) are SO involved and keen to defend everything men do, all freedoms they have to step away from your tiny world to imagine a different world where the onus is on men to stop doing these things, rather than girls having to avoid them

I KNOW there isn't a legal requirement. But if the police say "girls and women should stay home because a rapist is at large" the implication is that if you go out, despite the warning, whatever happens to you is your fault.

So i want all you man defenders and NAMALTers and "not my lovely boy-ers" to have a bloody think about how much nicer the world would be if men were ONCE as a small experiment, asked to put up with a bit of inconvenience - as a freaking thought experiment since it will never happen - so that girls and women could have a safer more pleasant life.

They don't want to because - well, why not? because they, as a class, are violent fuckers who only care about themselves.
