One for the ladies.. my first Hollywood wax was horrendous

I thought my pain threshold was okay. I’ve had microblading, lip fillers, nose piercing.. but I’ve never felt pain like it.

I went for a Hollywood this morning and ended up getting an extended bikini wax because I couldn’t stand the pain any longer! I gave up. It honestly made me nearly cry and she wasn’t even at the worst bit yet. She did mention that because I had shaved last week, it’ll be more sensitive and also because my period was also last week.

It still really really hurts now and it feels burny/really uncomfortable.

I wonder at what point do you decide you are going to make a career out of waxing strangers arseholes?

Is a hollywood worse than armpit waxing (I tried doing that myself in lock down.. owww)

First one is defo the worst especially if you've shaved recently as the hair is so course! It does get better I promise! But if you shave normally and have dark hair I'd recommend laser

It doesn't get any better ! Well maybe fractionally. I took two cocodamol once beforehand and that didn't even take the edge of 😂

I really, really tried with this but it did not improve. At. All.

I trim and tidy now. Used to shave but honestly can't be arsed with the itch/upkeep.

At certain age it becomes a halo 😇 🩶

The itching from shaving makes me want to cross my legs. I find waxing so fast and easy and it's blissfully smooth for ages

I have been considering having some sort of pubic wax for many years (I just shave/trim intermittently) but threads like this I think have put the final nail in the coffin of that idea!
I've left it alone for a while now because I'm going grey down there now, and it looks a bit like a badger.

When I first shaved it did itch the first few times. But not any more. In fact it itches when I skip shaving now.

I don’t do a bad job of shaving to be fair and luckily I get no itchy regrowth because I shave daily.

I would love to have a completely smooth fanjo but am just not brave enough to go through the pain of waxing.

Seriously why bother? Madness.

I had one done the other week and I didn’t feel it. Though I had c sections and walked within two hours.

I just think some women have less painful nerves there (that’s how the dr explained it! I had cellulitis in the same place and didn’t even feel or notice that either)

Fillers always look shit (don’t give me any of your ‘you don’t know you’ve seen a good one’ bollocks). Waxing is totally unnecessary.

Is a Hollywood much more painful than having just the bikini line done? I've never had a hollywood or any kind of professional wax, but I semi often wax my bikini line myself, with wax strips. I've never taken painkillers before doing so and I wouldn't actually describe the sensation as painful. I assume a hollywood must be much worse?

Sorry - are you saying if your bloke had liked you unnaturally hairless you would have continued doing something so painful it made you cry?

I absolutely love the feel of post-waxing sex so I do it. I fully accept that it's a fashion choice I make in a patriarchal and porn-soaked culture. I can analyse the shit out of it but I still like it atm.

I am feeling indicated in my life choices never to wax off my pubes! Or shave them! Or sleep with men who would dare to express a preference about my pubic hair!
Seriously, try just leaving it alone. Sooooo much better than paying someone to rip out your pubic hairs

Once you go there, it’s hard to go back to hair.

My husband couldn’t give a fig. I do it for me. And oral sex which is on another level when there’s no hair.

It might just be that you had a bad experience at this particular salon. I’m usually stick to hot wax unless I need it done quickly and then I’ll go for strip. I’m quite bad with pain but it genuinely is much better than I assumed it was going to be.

Only one did I have a Hollywood that was absolutely terrible. It was painful during the treatment and I felt like I had been burnt afterwards. I never went back to that salon again and have had no problems since
