I'm inclined to think we've been scammed. Am I being unreasonable?

I can't understand what she's done wrong, I didn't really follow any of it and I read the recent article and still can't understand it

Horrendous profiteer. Building a spa and trying to get round planning permission by pretending it’s for the company. Taking the old boy on a long haul holiday during a pandemic where he caught COVID off Russ Abbott and ended up in GRAVE.

Total scammer. It was a grift from the start.

Villain. Profited off her father. Scamming people to this day.

Really. She pays herself 80k a year to run the charity and built herself a swimming pool and spa in the grounds of her mansion and claimed it was an office to run the charity from.

Opportunistic grifter I'm afraid...

I feel like I want my money back, that I foolishly donated.

I can't help but feeling scammed. I asked her directly on Twitter where the money went, and she was adamant they hadn't had any of the money and didn't even know where Captain Tom's money had gone. If my parent had raised that amount of money, I'd have wanted to know where it had gone. The fact that we weren't given an update does make me very suspicious - even before this.

I want my money back too.

Villain. She's tarnished her Dad's name. Her sister has had nothing to do with her / the PR fundraising.

Her father was a good man I think. I’ll leave it there.

It's got me wondering if he himself was no angel. Perhaps he saw the whole thing as a great way of building up money for his family. That's the problem when someone is opportunistic. It makes one question everything. Maybe they all saw the personal financial gain in all of this

Villain. She exploited her elderly father for her own personal gain.

Grifter.

She should be made to pay the money back.

He was an ordinary man. Caught up in a very unusual situation.
I think she’s made some questionable decisions with regards to her property. It’s NOT a mansion though! I live locally and have seen it. It’s a big house.
Paying the salary of a suitable person to run a charity with over £30 million to distribute is always going to cost money. Anyone whose any good at the job will want a proper salary, the mistake was thinking they could choose a family member to do it!

Villain. I’m afraid I never liked the whole thing. All the birthday cards “in the local school hall” - I recognised that well as I grew up locally, it was a hall in the nearby £30k/yr private school. Celebrating an old man with huge amounts of privilege so we didn’t notice his peers dying in god awful nursing homes. The whole thing was wrapped up in class sycophancy from the beginning and she did nothing but take advantage.

I don’t remember it being reported as the local village hall!
It is the school his grandson was attending. It was reported as such in local news. It is not news that the family was relatively well off before this happened.

I’m no it saying that I agree with the way the family has handled all this but can we at least try and stick to facts and not down a tabloid spiral of half truths and bad mouthing.

She’s a scam artist.

Agree I always smelt a rat, Piers Morgan shoved it down all our throats even losing his temper with a viewer who said they didn’t want to clap for Captain Tom and yes the school hall was the very expensive Bedford school where the offspring attended. Of course at the time of madness it was akin to treason to question the motives of this family.
