How much domino's pizza can you eat?

TulipVictory · 15/08/2023 15:48

We are just about to do an order and it's dawned on me it's costing nearly £50.00 😨

Me and my Husband can pretty much eat a large pizza each. We have three children so we are ordering three large and one medium, totalling a whopping £48.98. Surely this is ridiculous for four pizzas. ?! This includes the 50% off too 🙈

My 2 12 year old share a large, chicken wings and lots wedges and have left overs. Could never finish a whole one.

justlonelystars · 15/08/2023 16:50

I could eat a large if really hungry. Normally half of one, half a garlic bread and half a box of chicken. I do have a large appetite compared to most women I know.

panko · 15/08/2023 16:40

You think the put something in it to make people order a large?

Yep. Extra cheese.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 15/08/2023 16:51

I too am bored of the 'sniff the box and I'm done' posters, it's sad and tired. It was way back when too and it's derailing the thread pointlessly. So, could the food-shamers and salad 'comedians' just bugger off now please? None of you are interesting or amusing.

What I REALLY want to know is:

Which pizza's do you have? I thought I didn't like Dominos but my nephew recently insisted and now I've found that I do - the 'bacon double cheese' one. It sounds greasy but actually, there are loads of tomatoes on it which I really like.

Which are you favourites/reliable go-to pizzas?

CrabbiesGingerBeer · 15/08/2023 16:53

GoodChat · 15/08/2023 16:01

Hold on, how large is a Dominos large?

13.5 inches and around 3,000 calories with a meat topping.

Whichwhatnow · 15/08/2023 16:53

I'm a grazer so the answer to the question 'how much can you eat in one sitting' would generally be one slice, max two if I was absolutely starving.

However, that is caveated by the fact that I would have additional 'sittings' in roughly hourly intervals all evening plus any leftovers for breakfast/brunch. So overall one whole (medium) pizza but spread out!

I wouldn't generally get Dominos though - there's a pizza place near us that delivers amazing thin crust/Italian style pizzas with really delicious toppings for less than Dominos, which I find too doughy and greasy tbh.

TibetanTerrah · 15/08/2023 16:55

Amateurs...

How much domino's pizza can you eat?
GCSister · 15/08/2023 16:55

If I'm desperate for a dominoes I order during the day as they have decent deals for collection before 4pm .... then I heat it up.
A large will last me a few days.
I just can't justify the full price

Laiste · 15/08/2023 16:55

MrsMcisaCt · 15/08/2023 16:48

I read that as you were sat on your DH 😀

I have a medium and wedges.

😂
Well, if the evening goes nicely ........ 😏

TravelSpam · 15/08/2023 16:57

I'd have a medium or share a large with dh. I'm not that fussed on dominos and for that price i'd rather order a pizza from our local actually Italian restaurant.

ChocBanana · 15/08/2023 16:57

You could buy an entire pizza restaurant for the price of half a dozen Domino’s pizzas, and they aren’t even very good pizzas or particularly big.
I work in a school, we ordered 30 Domino’s pizzas for the Y6 leavers last year.
it cost something like £240?
This year we got enough pizza for 60 kids from the independent pizza place in our village, it was £150 and all the kids said they loved it.
Not exactly a scientific test, but another vote for “overrated”.

ChocBanana · 15/08/2023 16:58

My local pizza place does a 24 inch one for under a tenner.

Silvers11 · 15/08/2023 16:59

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 15/08/2023 16:38

I really miss the Double Decadence base. It was filth.

It's back where I am and has been for a while! I love that base. Amazing! And now I want a pizza.....

Strugglingtodomybest · 15/08/2023 16:59

We had dominoes last night. I had a small pepperoni, eaten in two sittings.

I also scoffed DHs leftover slice from his large for breakfast and have just snaffled a slice of DS1's leftover large too - he left half of it and I can only conclude that he's coming down with something.

SnapdragonToadflax · 15/08/2023 17:01

I could eat a large if hungry and leaving some crusts, though I prefer Pizza Hut to Dominos. Normally I'd order a large and leave maybe 3 slices for the next day (cold pizza is better than hot pizza, no question). Sadly I get a terrible pizza hangover nowadays - am I old or is there more salt in them than there used to be?

I only read this thread for the competitive undereating. It did not disappoint 😂

gamerchick · 15/08/2023 17:02

WetBandits · 15/08/2023 16:20

Yet people are still here commenting shit like ‘eat less, that’s so greedy’ and mentioning the calorie content as if OP asked anything about that?

Projecting your own food issues onto other people is shitty. 👍🏼

It's nothing to do with food issues. How is it issues to comment on eating that much food in one go? It IS a lot of food and the whiff of a pizza and I'm full for a week stuff is boring.

Personally I think the OP is on a wind up. Nobody eats that much and feeds their kids that much food in one sitting. Ridiculous. Gets everyone going though doesn't it? 🙄

Lionesses23 · 15/08/2023 17:02

It’s so expensive isn’t it??
We used to buy Papa Johns on a Thursday night and me and my DH would have one large each. After the CEOs racist outbursts Papa Johns were practically giving those pizzas away.
As I’ve gotten older I just can’t eat pizza anymore, maybe it’s the dough, maybe it’s the tomatoes, not sure, but 2 slices is my limit otherwise I get terrible stomach cramps.

Silvers11 · 15/08/2023 17:03

FrenchandSaunders · 15/08/2023 16:48

You can still get half and half

Not everywhere you can't. Only brought back in some Dominoes stores. I can't get it in our local store

Waffle78 · 15/08/2023 17:03

I've never had a dominos pizza so wouldn't know. We do have 2 where we live but if we order a pizza we order from an independent takeaway. We have a really good Italian takeaway usually costs £25-£30 for 3.

hygieneversustheplanet · 15/08/2023 17:05

Sparklfairy · 15/08/2023 15:53

I love pizza but someone once told me it's glorified cheese on toast and now I can't justify Dominos prices... or worse, Papa Johns prices...

Yes, I have never understood why bread, and cheese costs so much in pizza places!!

Itsnotrightbutitsok · 15/08/2023 17:06

TibetanTerrah · 15/08/2023 16:55

Amateurs...

Bloody hell!

I don’t think I could even eat 1/4 of that!

OhYetAnotherBrickInTheWall · 15/08/2023 17:06

I'd probably only eat three slices, especially if it were a thick crust.

I'd feel uncomfortably full, plus I stick to 1200 a day Monday - Saturday (all bets are off Saturday night to Monday morning but I still don't massively overeat or eat UPF).

CarpeDiemCarpeDontem · 15/08/2023 17:07

VeridicalVagabond · 15/08/2023 15:55

Jesus a large each? I'm by no means a competitive under eater or anything like that, I'm not going to say a nibble of a crust would sustain me for a month, but I can't even finish a medium from Dominos, they're so hench and dense. I'm impressed by your pizza eating abilities.

Husband and I would normally get a medium each, he can finish it, I'll usually have two or three slices leftover. 15yo DD can finish a medium to herself too and usually wants wedges as well. They're so bloody expensive though.

I love your use of hench here Grin I never hear people say it!

Timetochangegonzo · 15/08/2023 17:07

I’m far from a nibbler but a whole pizza is ten slices and I couldn’t do that. I would have a large over a couple of day - maybe have a few wings too. God I want a domino’s now

MysteryBelle · 15/08/2023 17:07

I usually make my own pizza but I will eat one slice, two at the most.

Then I have a half gallon of ice cream. 😂
