Is there a second thread? Can't find one anywhere. I am also overly invested and need to know the outcome and marvel at the detective work of MN's.

Interesting how they did their own due diligence, but that didn't extend to sorting their older daughter's passport.

This story stinks like last week's fish. Timelines don't add up. Details have changed - eldest was distressed and now she's not. They forgot to renew her passport and now the Govt are "refusing".

And as for "it could happen to anyone". No Clive, no it could not. Stop trying to pretend that you are the victim in this. You're an arrogant twat that wants to claim freeman of the land when it suits, but you're quite happy to whinge about lack of state help when the manure hits the rotating ventilation device...

Governments refuse a child’s right as sport because a) they don’t qualify for one (not a uk resident etc) b) because they haven’t been given the right paperwork and presumably c) for their own safety?

They don’t just say no, sorry this one were refusing just for the fun of it because we have made children’s passports a national lottery style of issuing.

I hate to say this, but I think we've passed peak interest with this story. I absolutely loved the last thread, and was in awe of MNers detective skills (surely M15 should start recruiting from here again, on the basis of that thread alone!). But once we'd discounted the wacky theories of buying/trying to sell the baby, it seems unlikely they'll be any exciting developments or revelations to follow.
Perhaps what we all need is a new mystery to work on!
(But yey, I'm so glad there's a new thread on this! 😆)

I think the beauty of Clive was the fact he had changed his name multiple times due to his loopy views.

Sadly, for this reason, I doubt we shall find another story with such pure gold.

Or such epic Egosurfing.

There is a fruit and veg shop reasonably near me named Clives and I swear I will never be able to go near it again without pissing myself laughing in the process. I do note that the GoFundMe is in the surname beginning with G, so he must have decided not to address his many surnames that were discovered in the original thread 😂

I agree about the comment mirroring Trigger from Only Fools in the original thread, I actually sounded like a donkey I was laughing so hard when I read that 😂 I have been having a really difficult time at the minute (not of my own making unlike a few other individuals I could think of) and some of that thread honestly cheered me up even if only for a short while!
