Is there a second thread? Can't find one anywhere. I am also overly invested and need to know the outcome and marvel at the detective work of MN's.

I'm sure this has already been asked, but why couldn't Clive fly back to be with their other daughter? Or is there a reason they all have to stay put?

I guess it’s a choice between leaving your daughter with someone they know, and you know they are safe and leaving your wife with a new baby without anywhere to live and having to deal with all the fall out.

mayaknew · 15/08/2023 23:07

Placemarking as got lost in last thread. Is there a go fund me yet? I swear that will be the next thing

ExitThroughTheGiftShop · 15/08/2023 23:37

Don't mind me. Just grabbing a seat.

FarmGirl78 · 15/08/2023 23:50

I reckon now Clive has tried and failed to stoke support in their favour he'll just quietly conform and get the birth cert and subsequent passport and slink back into Britain like it never happened.

Of course there's the chance that pick n mix spellings/names of both parents will lead to further issues and 'computer says no' will prevail. Who knows? I don't think we'll hear any updates for a good long while, but I have the popcorn on standby regardless.

Ellmau · 16/08/2023 00:35

Sounds like the story's gone dead now.

OytheBumbler · 16/08/2023 00:41

So what's happening? Are they still waiting?

GrimDamnFanjo · 16/08/2023 01:14

Surely some journo,is following the case?

Catsmere · 16/08/2023 03:38

Agree the "friend" on the previous thread was about as credible as CliveDave himself!

TakenRoot · 16/08/2023 03:50

YES! There is a GoFundMe page.
£110 raised!

He so needed to have been ready with this when the news story landed, not 4 days later.

OMFG. I was going to leave the other thread and let this die a death but hats off to Clive or the MNetter who is on the wind up and wrote that, cos I'm going to have to bite.

I am not linking to it but the blurb is HILARIOUS.

Here we go:

Bring Louisa back home

Louisa has never met her 8 year old sister in the UK and the passport office in the UK Refuse to give our 8 year old her renewal passport

Our FAMILY is Broken

My Daughter is 8 years old and so distraught and cannot believe this Government would enslave us like they have done these Caribbean islands it's Sureal

What are we supposed to do when your country abandon your family
It is traumatic for us all and I have no faith in the system anymore

I am in tears everyday hair falling out and struggle to sleep at night which is traumatic when breastfeeding as I want the very best for my new baby Louisa whom is only 3 months young how could this happen in 2023
A baby is innocent and we are being victimized for wanting a freebirth

I don't wish this feeling on any Mum

We have jumped through all their hoop's but to no avail it's heart wrenching to think this could happen to anyone of us

We have been treated like criminals the immigration and UK high commission
Have abandoned us it's our worst nightmare

Someone has to help surely

We have jumped through all their hoop's

How can a country abandon it's Sovereign people

How can people do this to people their own and a Mum I can't come to begin to understand

Is there any hope for any one of us friends or family could be in the same situation especially being told that a baby is entitled to a passport with right of soil Latin ( jus soli) guess the government's don't follow laws anymore

We was told before we left the UK of our natural rights we researched and did our own due diligence but have been let down by the system

We pray that we will receive justice and remedy before it goes on any further

I thought they forgot to renew their 8 year olds passport? Now the government are 'refusing to renew it'. Hmmm. Yes ok. I'm sensing a porkie there for sob value. Why would the UK government refuse to renew their daughters passport? What's the problem? (Too many different names of parents, not being patient enough to wait for one, letting the old passport expire so you are eligible for a renewal and have to apply for a new one, concerns over the wellbeing of a child being removed from the country by feckless parents? Come on explain what the issue is, cos they don't just refuse to renew for no reason).

The elder daughter is distraught apparently. Well that's news to the MNetter who claimed to know the family. So either they were a troll, the couple are lying or the daughter really is distraught.

Noting the language about how the couple are 'enslaved' ( bit racist that one), comments about sovereign people, right of soil and the government not following laws and natural rights. That really is smelling of Freeman of the land or a Sovereign Citizen nutter and certainly doesn't seem to understand actual law isn't it? Plea for justice? Fucking hell the state of that.

Not quite understanding why the right of soil for a BRITISH passport application is relevant to a birth in a foreign country either. Maybe someone here on MN can explain the logic to me? Pretty please?

Or did they try and get a Saint Lucian passport, and were rejected and then thought they'd try it on for a Grenadian one but that didn't work either and now forced to accept a shitty British passport instead and are now somehow blaming the UK government for not recognising a British citizen born on foreign sea for 'a right of soil' passport application. Really not following that part of the blurb (this has to be a MNetter on the wind up doesn't it? Surely? Please tell me this is a prankster at this point because the alternative explanation actually hurts my head)

Then we have the point about being victimised for wanting a freebirth. Well yes, that will generally cause issues for good reason. It's fucking dangerous and irresponsible. Diddums. Maybe that's why the UK government might refuse to allow the other child to leave the country.

Total self absorption and lack of self awareness - total lala land about why there may be process to stop trafficking or obtaining passports/ citizenship by deception. Tone deaf false equivalence with slavery by a white dude without thought as to how it might be offensive.

Then talk about jumping through all the hoops. Well no, you didn't. By your own admission.

Then they say they have been treated like criminals and abandoned. I thought Clive said they were being phoned every day by the commission to see how the application was progressing? I'm not sure criminals get that attention and it's hardly being abandoned if they are in regular contact like that. That's clearly giving a shit not abandoning.

Not being able to understand 'how a government could do this to their own and to a mum' is just funny. The government didnt do shit. It was the two wallies who didn't go to a hospital which screwed up getting a birth certificate, never mind the time it takes for it to be issued and to get a passport and that's forgetting the border hoping that managed that all by themselves.

Someone has to help? No you just need to do your fucking paperwork properly. What are you expecting someone to do. Wave a magic wand to get that DNA test you don't mention quicker from the lab? The UK government to issue a Saint Lucian birth certificate quicker?!

Anyone of your friends and family could be in this situation? Na. Just fuckwittery reckless pricks who attempt to freebirth abroad. Not that hard to avoid that problem really.

But the icing on the cake is saying they researched and did due diligence. Oh that one is utterly priceless.

Fundraiser is set up by him, but worded as if it's her who has written it - which I also don't buy. They've clearly gone for a sob story of the poor mum and daughter. That's Clive who has nothing stopping him going home to his distraught 8 year old in case you've forgotten at this point.

It's fascinating to see how it is framed in the newspapers and the difference with the fundraiser.

Obviously it's got lots of support from friends and family. Well no actually it hasn't. Oh no. Poor Clive and Iullia. I wonder if our friend on the other thread has chucked in a tenner.

Thanks for the lols Clive you grifter.

Or if it's a MNetter who has set this up for a laugh, I really take my hat off to you. That novel should be a cracker. This is pure gold and you are a comedy genius.

I can't sleep again and that's blurb has truly made me chuckle. Thank you Clive and Iullia.

RedToothBrush · 16/08/2023 05:54

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jus_soli

Almost all states in Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania grant citizenship at birth based upon the principle of jus sanguinis ("right of blood"), in which citizenship is inherited through parents rather than birthplace, or a restricted version of jus soli in which citizenship by birthplace is automatic only for the children of certain immigrants.

How interesting. Both Saint Lucia and Grenada are on the list of places with unrestricted jus soli.

A child born in the Caribbean absolutely wouldn't be eligible for a jus soli citizenship of the UK - unless you think the UK own Saint Lucia or Grenada.

Are they even trying to apply for a British passport or just trying to get the UK consulate to get the Grenadian authorities to issue a passport.

Has to be a wind up. No one is daft enough to write that. Are they? Mind you if it's a wind up someone has gone to the effort of having a small number of supporters or there are actually people who have bought this claptrap.

CoffeeIsTheAnswer1 · 16/08/2023 06:45

I'm a committed home birther and I am not going to support this. Don't they just have to do a DNA test to sort it out at this point?

It was the "my hair's falling out" bit that made me laugh. Oh, so Iullia's writing his, not Clive, who's conspicuously lacking in the hair department.

MustardChair · 16/08/2023 07:33

I have just gone onto the fundraiser so am more confused.

It says it is set up by Clive Gurzhii. Not Clive Fitzpatrick or Clive Freeman or Dave. But you can report fundraisers if you think they are not genuine (I guess- there is a report button). Mind you it does not have much traction so maybe if it is fake no-one has twigged that yet. It might well have been set up by a grifter taking advantage (not Clive, a completely random one). The random grifter may not have done the background research done by MNetters and so is assuming that Gurzhii is Clive's name. But maybe Clive is indeed now going by Gurzhii and it's a third name he uses thus complicating things like documentation.

My head is spinning. Whatever the truth is it's clear that Clive iiulia and Dave need to get the DNA test results (like the HC are asking for) and then go from there. Step by step. THAT bit is not hardl The Clives are just making it so.

Bleating to the media about how hard done you are isn't going to help when it's a mess of your own making.

Utterly fabulous, even better than the original reports. And confirmation of the Freetwat of the Land (or Sea in their case) mentality.

I think he may have changed his name to Gurzhii now. Possibly to avoid people connecting him to the dangerous driving story.

PriamFarrl · 16/08/2023 07:55

The ‘being enslaved’ line is just dreadful.

Also the idea that this ‘could happen to anyone’ like it was all someone else’s fault.

SarahSaysYes · 16/08/2023 07:59

Am not unsympathetic to her hair falling out but I suspect it’s mainly due to the fact that she recently had a baby!

ThickSkinnedSoWhat · 16/08/2023 08:04

Welcome back RedToothbrush. That gave me a chuckle this morning 😅

I'd not be surprised if he was using yet another name on the off chance the person who commented in last thread really does know him, since he had been all sussed out about his past 😂

As for that GoFundMe. I can't decide who the bigger wing nuts are. Him and her for the poorly written, entitled rant on it, or the idiots who have actually donated to it!

sunglassesonthetable · 16/08/2023 08:29

oh my goodness.

I mean I do feel for these people because they are in the shit and this is so hard on their other daughter.

But there's " due diligence " and there's "absolute incompetence "

if they'd just gone to the hospital within the 3 days for starters.

Basically it looks like they can't get a passport for either of their daughters. God alive.

And no one cares if you want to freebirth! Freebirth away! Just get your shit together.

PriamFarrl · 16/08/2023 08:37

I do think that was written by Ilulia rather than Clive as then English isn’t brilliant but I’m willing to bet that he has fed her lots of lines and phrases to put in.

I wasn't going to comment on the English because it's probable it's not Iuliias first language so I don't have an issue with that. But the problem is I really rather suspect it's him not her that's written it cos of all the Freetwat phrases which I'm not convinced she's into in the same way (not had all those name changes for starters) and because if she wrote it, it'd be in her name not his. Plus with a newborn baby and her hair falling out and Clive to look after I'm not convinced she has the time.

I do really wonder what she sees in him mind.

sunglassesonthetable · 16/08/2023 08:50

I wonder what's up with the DNA test?

Is it just taking the time it's supposed to take? @Testina ? 👋🏼

They clearly don't watch Death in Paradise.

Fundraiser is only for £5,000 so is that just to keep them going for a bit longer? Flights home?
He said flight prices had gone up in the other article ( shock, British summer hols )

Lots and lots of foreign privilege going on in this story.

Maybe only £5k as an initial target too.

I think that £5k is on the optimistic side.

I have to say I'm amused that it's taken four days since Clive talked to the press to set up the fundraiser.

I'm wondering if that's the pace that Clive works at admin tbh. Tough life being in Grenada with a newborn and a wife with her hair falling out you see.

sunglassesonthetable · 16/08/2023 09:06

They're not really ' admin ' people tbh.
