You just eat it on the paper/out of the box right?? 🙈😂

lionsleepstonight · 11/08/2023 17:47

Nope. I do it too.

CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair · 11/08/2023 17:49

if in paper I put the paper onto a plate as the grease comes through otherwise. If it’s in a box I’d definitely put it on a plate as it’s too small and all piled on top of each other otherwise.

TiramisuTastesDreamy · 11/08/2023 17:49

Depends - sometimes in the paper but with a plate underneath for stability…..sometimes straight onto the plate !

Frabbits · 11/08/2023 17:49

Totally use a plate we're not savages.

Nitgel · 11/08/2023 17:49

No

Zanatdy · 11/08/2023 17:49

I always put it on a plate and use a knife and fork. All takeaways

PuttingDownRoots · 11/08/2023 17:50

How else do you divy up chips (and mushy peas etc for those who like such things)

MintJulia · 11/08/2023 17:50

We use plates too, unless we're sitting on the seafront. Sorry 🙂

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 11/08/2023 17:50

Of course from the paper

UnctuousUnicorns · 11/08/2023 17:50

No, any chippy/take out food we're having at home goes on a plate, to be eaten with knife and fork.

MrsDeaconClaybourne · 11/08/2023 17:51

My parents did this! DM had the plates warming while DSD fetched the fish and chips! I prefer it out of the box/paper. Just one of many ways in which I have lower standards than my folks. 😂

I nearly put it on the weird things you thought were normal thread but I've never really thought it was normal. It takes the fun out of it a bit. Aways had to eat them at the table too.

Highlyflavouredgravy · 11/08/2023 17:52

Of course you put it on a plate unless you're sitting on a bench looking at the sea!

CrowleyAndHisSexyWalk · 11/08/2023 17:52

Put onto warm plates in this house too, if eating it at home (same for all take away food, generally).

Really, really want fish and chips now!

NeedToChangeName · 11/08/2023 17:52

On a plate

With cutlery

Unless you're a heathen

MrsPoliportsGoose · 11/08/2023 17:52

Plates at home (preheated, never cold) and paper at the seaside.

HappiDaze · 11/08/2023 17:52

On a tray at least or all the grease seeps through the paper which is rank

Clefable · 11/08/2023 17:53

Out of the box. Frick creating extra dirty plates when I don't have to.

10HailMarys · 11/08/2023 17:53

If I’m eating fish and chips at home I use a plate. Same for any other takeaway (except pizza).

If I’ve bought fish and chips to eat outside on the seafront, obviously I’d eat it out of the paper then.

Needmorelego · 11/08/2023 17:53

You need a plate because the massive amount of tomato sauce required soaks through paper or if in a box the chips are on top of the fish and in the way.
Damm…. I really fancy fish n chips now.

HappiDaze · 11/08/2023 17:53

But yes normally on a plate here too

AndTheSurveySays · 11/08/2023 17:53

Put the paper on the plate to stop grease soaking through. No cutlery.

monpetitlapin · 11/08/2023 17:54

I don't do it personally but don't think it's weird. Loads of people do this.

PollyThePixie · 11/08/2023 17:54

On a plate with a knife and fork unless sitting on the wall at Arbroath Harbour or up the Law Hill in Dundee

TinkerbellefromYorkshire · 11/08/2023 17:54

Where does the mushy peas or curry sauce go? We often have them outside at the seaside but take picnic plates for the mushy peas.

NEmama · 11/08/2023 17:54

Plates if I'm at home. Who wants paper stuck to their food?
Box if out and about. I don't like to eat standing up so I'd chose a restaurant when out if I could
