My son just called me mummy

He’s 5. He’s non verbal with Autism and has not shown any real inclination to talk.

This last 2/3 weeks he’s started ‘demanding’ food which is brilliant, but tiday he saw me and shouted ‘mummy!’.

I can’t believe it. I could cry ❤️

Well I'm sitting here with a big daft smile on my face! I've followed this thread from the beginning and the difference in what your little lad can do and say now compared to when you started this, it's incredulous. What fantastic progress,you must be so proud! 🙂

Oh this is great progress Op, I’m so pleased for you . It sounds like his communication is improving across the board, not just his speech. And the toilet training is a big step forward, has he chosen some big boy pants? You can get ones with cartoon characters on them ( sounds like he loves cartoons).

It really has. His school have also really improved the syllabus this year and that’s helped too.

He has little trunks with lots of different characters which he loves.

He’s found a song that teaches the months of the year so that’s my day 🤣
