To ask how much annual leave you have left?

popgoesthecat2 · 31/07/2023 17:54

We are 7 months through the year and have 5 months left of this annual leave year (assuming yours runs jan - dec.

My annual entitlement is 26 days plus bank holidays. I have taken 10, have 8 booked and 8 left to book. I can carry a week over.

My manager thinks having 8 outstanding days to book is a lot at this point of the year, but if I carry 5 over I only have 3 really.

How many days do you have left to book at this point/ what is normal?

I have 2 weeks booked in August then I have a week and a day left . Mine goes Nov to Nov

Mushroo · 31/07/2023 17:59

Mine is calendar year and I’ve booked off but yet to take 13.5 days.

I tend to take none Jan - March and usually go away for my main holiday in September, then save to take an extra week at Xmas.

garlictwist · 31/07/2023 17:59

Mine runs October - October so is nearly over and I have nearly all of it left! I haven't had the time or money to go on holiday. I am not allowed to carry any over or have more than two weeks off at a time, nor am I allowed any leave in September (our busiest time) so will have to take some off soon.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 31/07/2023 18:01

6 days booked in August
1 in September
5 in December

So 12 future days booked and have 8 days left to book in my allocation.

Sausagedognamedmash · 31/07/2023 18:03

Mines Oct-Oct and I have none left, but a week and a bit booked in September.

Haven't been on holiday but mine gets eaten up with childcare around family childcares own holidays.

Got a week booked end of August then 6 days left from sept to dec. No plans to take xmas off and plan to carry 3 or 4.

DinnaeFashYersel · 31/07/2023 18:04

I accumulate loads of TOIL so have booked or taken 35'days so far and still have 10 left.

I will still gain more TOIL so my problem is trying to use all my leave.

LakieLady · 31/07/2023 18:06

My "leave year" runs April-March and I've got loads left. I think it might still be 5 weeks.

My entitlement is 6 weeks. I work 17 hours over 3 days, and don't work Mondays or Fridays, so I get hours added on for all the bank holidays that fall on my non-working days, which is most of them. That gives me at least another week.

Meandyouandyouandme · 31/07/2023 18:06

Mine runs February to January, I have 39 days including bank holidays, I carried 4 over from last year, only because I started in November and didn’t get much time to take any holiday. I have 4 more days booked in August to take and 5.5 days left to book.

cadburyegg · 31/07/2023 18:07

My annual entitlement is 41 days including bank holidays and the leave year runs October - October. I've used/booked a lot of it up and have 2 days left spare. We can carry up to 5 days over to the next leave year so I'll do that unless I have a child emergency or something comes up.

CMOTDibbler · 31/07/2023 18:08

I've got 2 weeks left, plus a week booked at Christmas. I'd have normally got less at this time of year, but this year is a bit unpredictable so will take some more at the end of the summer and half term but not quite sure when

cinnamonfrenchtoast · 31/07/2023 18:10

I'm self-employed so I don't have annual leave.

But I take six-seven weeks a year on average - two weeks at Christmas, two weeks in the summer, ten days at Easter, all bank holidays and a few long weekends on top.

somewhereovertherain · 31/07/2023 18:11

we normally take 2 weeks at Christmas and normally have January off - don't really bother the rest of the year

VanGoghsDog · 31/07/2023 18:11

I get 30, I bought four and carried five, so had 39.

I've got 11.5 left to book, and ten booked.

Planning to take two at Christmas, book five (not sure when or what for) and carry 4.5. We're not allowed to book the Christmas days yet, it's always really stupid how we're told not to book them but we need to manage how much carry over we have left!

PissOffJeffrey · 31/07/2023 18:11

Mine runs from 1st July to 30th June. My entire annual leave up to 30th June 2024 is booked already.

It's NHS, you snooze you lose.

WorkCleanRepeat · 31/07/2023 18:15

I get 30 and bought 5. It's all booked in.

I've ran large teams and having 8 days left to book at this point in the year is not unusual at all.

devildeepbluesea · 31/07/2023 18:15

Civil Service, I get 31 days and carried over a week so 36 this year, plus BHs and 2 privilege days. We also get flexi, I’ve taken a fair few flexi days so far as well. My year runs Feb-Jan.

8 days taken
11 days booked
17 remaining

I’ll probably carry a week over again.

barbieseyebrows · 31/07/2023 18:18

Mine runs until 31st Jan 2024

I have 32 days of annual leave left

I'll carry 9 over and take the rest to wipe out January

I don't like working Januarys 👀

ConfessionsOfAMumDramaQueen · 31/07/2023 18:18

October - September

My boss is horrific about leave, I have 20 days left (out of 40 inc bank hol). They always seem to be unable to do without me.

barbieseyebrows · 31/07/2023 18:18

I get 30 days of annual leave plus 12 bank holidays

BarbedButterfly · 31/07/2023 18:20

We are April to April. I have a week left with leave booked for October and Christmas. Come Jan we are expected to have all leave booked and no unbooked leave outstanding

CrackersCheeseAndWinePlease · 31/07/2023 18:20

None, but that's because I work term time

FuzzyPenguin · 31/07/2023 18:20

8 hours but I only work 14 hours a week. I already have a week in October and Christmas booked and am just about to take 2 weeks for summer now. So I am happy with that. My holidays run Jan to Dec.

WomanAtWork · 31/07/2023 18:21

holiday year 1 jan to 31 dec
we get 25 days + bank holidays

everyone can and does carry 5 days as we have too much work and a small team

i have 13 days remaining and of that I will carry 5

i am not allowed to take vacation in August, Sept or December; I applied to take October half term as holiday but was rejected so…. I guess I’ll be taking some randome days off here or there in sunny November. 😞

Tumbleweed101 · 31/07/2023 18:22

Ours runs Jan- Dec. Lose a week at Xmas as we are closed and all Bank Holidays are included in our entitlement so don't have many free choice days really.

I took two weeks holiday and a few days around Bank Holidays at Easter and only have 3 left now.
