Aibu to think the media portray it as perfectly ok for an 83 year old man to have a child with a 29 year old woman but when it’s older women having babies, it’s portrayed as selfish etc. Incredible!

Stop the world I want to get off.. What is wrong with these men! Peter pan syndrome.

TomatoSandwiches · 31/05/2023 11:28

It's rather selfish and grim either way to me.

Tiddlypomtiddlypom · 31/05/2023 12:42

Men are such complete disappointments.

gabsdot45 · 31/05/2023 12:43

Everything about this is Ugh!

Fififafa · 31/05/2023 12:43

I’m having my lunch. Next time can we have a trigger warning 🤢🤮

And what's wrong with a 29 year old who chooses an 83 year old as their sexual partner and father of their child? How often does this happen when the man isn't very rich?

SparklyBlackKitten · 31/05/2023 12:45

This 29 year old is the craziest of the two imo 😳🤮🤮🤮 what the fuck

ThatOnePlease · 31/05/2023 12:47

It's grim, but it's also about money. That poor child will never know Dad as anything but a great-grandfather figure.

But Mum and baby will hopefully have enough money to cushion the blow. It's hardly the same - no amount of money will replace a parent- but it is why wealthy celebrities make parenting choices that the rest of us would never consider.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 31/05/2023 12:49

She's not crazy at all - she's having a child with a very wealthy and successful man. This is her meal ticket for life, and the child will also be provided for.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 31/05/2023 12:50

According to Twitter, the mother to be has previously gone out with Mick Jagger and Clint Eastwood. 'Likes them prehistoric' was the comment that made me laugh. If Al Pacino knew she was TTC, he's a fool and selfish. No way will this child know his/her Dad for more than a few years. Sad

Amybelle88 · 31/05/2023 12:52

I think it's absolutely disgusting. Women are so openly vilified for this and I have to say, I agree with the view that it's unfair to have children past a certain age.

Obviously, there are sometimes factors involved as some people are just better for their age than others, but in general, having a child who could possibly only have you around for 10 years or even less is cruel.

IhearyouClemFandango · 31/05/2023 12:52

It's grim

Chowtime · 31/05/2023 12:52

I don't think men are all that relevant when it comes to raising children anyway. The fact that he's probably going to die when the child is still a dependant is neither here nor there - think about the amount of actual work men put into child raising. It's not a lot.

mamabear715 · 31/05/2023 12:53

Ugh.

Fififafa · 31/05/2023 12:54

She has a type. Very old, very rich men. Or maybe she just has grandad issues, who knows.
He’s a selfish idiot as well.

Yeah thats my type to, I like very old, very rich men.

Unfortunately, they don't like me back.

Naunet · 31/05/2023 12:57

Selfish, vain idiot. Men and their pathetic egos cause so many problems in the world 🙄

Neither here or there?! Well it probably will be for the child. In terms of child rearing though, you’re right.

TooBigForMyBoots · 31/05/2023 12:59

Men's sperm quality diminishes with age. Poor kid.

Pottedpalm · 31/05/2023 13:00

I don’t see how this will cause a problem for anyone. The mother knows she will be a single parent before too long but there will be enough money for them
to live however they wish. Plenty of children grow up just fine with one parent.

DancedByTheLightOfTheMoon · 31/05/2023 13:00

Lets be honest we all know the score here, his mate "Bob" De Niro has also recently became a father, again, at 79. Their young partners will be well paid nurse maids as well as mothers.

How sad. I couldn't disagree more. Yes I did the majority of baby related things as I was the one with the milk, but once our daughter was weaned, it has been equal if not my partner doing more of the parenting.

NineOfNine · 31/05/2023 13:01

Wow.

The age gap between them is bigger than the age gap between me and half of my grandparents.

It’s sad for the child that their father is likely to die of old age before they’re grown. I guess he’ll make financial provisions for the child though.

QueefQueen80s · 31/05/2023 13:01

@DisquietintheRanks Oh I'm judging her too. But it's the older man with a pervy desire for young women who get the most of my ire.

mainsfed · 31/05/2023 13:02

Ugh I've lost all respect for him.
