A friend had an older father, he was mid fifties when my friend was born. He had to defer university as he spent what would have been his first year organising a nursing home for his dad who by this time had advanved Parkinsons. His mum was an older parent too, mid forties when he was born, she passed away from breast cancer when he was a fairly young child. He was an only child, as were his parents, so as a 20 year old he didn’t have a single family member.
